Morals Are For Idealistic Dreams And Hopes...not The Real World., chapter 2
Serenity scanned the outside of the building, with the jocks flexing their muscles as if they didn't know how to do anything else, and the air headed cheerleaders hanging off their arms, giggling. She wrinkled her nose and looked back to Billie Joe.
"So. What kind of music d'you like?" She asked him offhandedly while poking at her food with her plastic spork. Billie Joe blinked.
"Well, I'm in a band... " He said, with a both tones of nervousness and pride in his voice. Serenity smiled.
"Yeah? What's it called?" She asked, and looked at him intently. Billie Joe grinned.
"It's called Sweet Children, tentatively, anyways." He obviously couldn't stop grinning if he wanted to. Serenity smiled.
"Are you putting on any shows in the not-so-distant future?" She inquired, completely ignoring the fact that her salad was still there. Billie nodded.
"Is Thursday night good?" He asked back, flashing her a charming smile, tilting his head slightly. Serenity smiled back.
"Sounds like a plan to me." She said brightly. "Where is it?"
"Gilman Street. We're not even sure the exact address, but y'know, they have signs... that say 'Sweet Children.'" He laughed. "It's mostly Mike who gets things at least slightly organized."
"Well, I'll see you there then. And you can count on that." She smiled at him.
"I'll be looking for you then." He said, smiling back. Just then the bell rang to end lunch hour. Serenity sighed, and picked up her mostly uneaten salad. Billie Joe stood and helped her up. She smiled.
"I'll see you around, Billie Joe."
"Yeah... See you." He smiled at Serenity's back as she walked away, and shifted his weight from foot to foot. See you? Come on, Billie, you can do better than THAT.
