Too Much Too Soon, chapter 1
"Bitch."
Kylie stopped walking. She had heard that tone before, and she knew who it was too.
"Shut up Tre." she replied.
"Oh, whatcha gonna do about it??"
Kylie turned her back, and began walking down the hall towards the science lab, where her friends were supposed to meet her in 5 minutes.
"Hey Ky, whats up?" Lily asked.
"Nothing really..Tre called me a bitch again. Same stuff."
"You know he's just sore about you dumping him."
"Yeah, but it's been three months!! And I'm still friends with Billie and Mike."
Kylie sat down, and hung her head.
She looked up.
"I just want him to be my friend, you know?" Her piercing green eyes flooded with tears.
Lily sat down beside her, and patted her on the back.
"Why don't you go talk to Billie Joe or Mike? Ask them if they can talk to Tre?"
Kylie shook her head.
"Come on Ky," Lily pleaded. "You deserve to know the truth."
Kylie ignored her comment, and swung her head to the direction of the clock.
"Where's Maddie?" she asked. Their bass player for their band, The Unfortunates. They were still working on the name, unable to decide weather to keep the current one.
Lily pointed to the door, where a soaking wet Maddie stood, fuming.
"Stupid fucking water balloons. Damn those preps.." she muttered, searching the cabinets for a towel.
"Who got you this time?" Lily asked.
Maddie shot her a look, and began drying her red hair with the towel.
Lily rolled her eyes. "Sorry I asked.", and began fiddling with her boots.
Kylie watched them both, and then heard the familar sound of skateboard wheels rolling across the tiled hall. The sound was sure to get the rider in trouble.
"Be right back you guys." Kylie said, and walked out into the hall.
"Hey BJ!!" she bellowed.
She winced as the wheels screeched to a halt. She heard the footsteps coming her way.
"You know that skateboard is going to get you in trouble one of these days." she said.
"All the teachers already hate me, so I don't see the point of taking precautions."
Kylie looked at her feet.
"Right." she said, nodding her head.
"What's the matter?" Billie Joe asked.
The two 15 year olds looked at eachother, then at the classroom door.
"You want to talk in there?" Billie Joe offered, aware Kylie was afraid they would be overheard.
Kylie nodded her head, and walked into the classroom before Billie Joe, who shut the door behind him.
"So, whats up?" he asked, cocking his head to the side.
Kylie sighed, and then began talking.
"What is Tre's problem with me BJ? I mean, I try to be nice, and he returns me with an insult. I just don't get it."
Billie Joe sat down on top of one of the desks.
"He really likes you still Ky, and he was really upset when you broke up with him."
"Well..I told him that I wasn't ready for-"
Billie Joe put up his hand and interrupted her.
"Yea yea I know, just don't say it."
Kylie raised her eyebrow, and began speaking again. "Well, you know, but he still pushed me. I mean, I still have feelings for him..but how do I know he won't do that to me again?"
Billie Joe put his hand on her shoulder.
"I'll talk to him, okay?"
Kylie nodded her head, and heard the door knob being turned.
"Shit..hide!" she muttered.
Billie Joe dove behind the bookshelf, while Kylie stood behind hid behind one of the desks in the back.
They could both hear the humming of the teacher, Mr. Ray, and heard the screech of his chair as he sat down to grade the test they had taken earlier that day. Billie Joe and Kylie both knew it was going to be a long time before they got out of that classroom.
Kylie stopped walking. She had heard that tone before, and she knew who it was too.
