Too Much Too Soon, chapter 2
Billie Joe shot Kylie a look, and pointed to the open door. Kylie nodded, and began making her way towards Billie Joe as quietly and quickly as possible.
"Excuse me Mam!!" Mr. Ray said.
Kylie cringed, and stood up.
"Yes sir?"
"What are you doing in this classroom at this time of hour?"
"I.." Kylie stuttered, while trying to think of an excuse.
Billie Joe stood up.
"She followed me because I forgot a book here." Billie Joe held up a copy of Macbeth he had snatched off of the bookshelf.
Mr. Ray nodded. "Very well, get on home then."
Kylie and Billie Joe walked out of the room.
"Oh my gosh." Kylie managed to say inbetween laughs.
"Macbeth? Smooth coverup BJ."
"Hey, I can be smart!!" Billie Joe exclaimed, following Kylie out of the double doors into the school parking lot.
Kylie raised an eyebrow. "Skateboard?" she reminded him.
"Damn, be right back." he said, and rushed back into the double doors.
Kylie scanned the parking lot for any familar faces, her eyes landed on Tre`, sitting on the railing along the side of the track. He looked up, saw her, and then looked down again.
"Got it." Billie Joe said, and the swoosh of the double doors blew kylies long light brown hair.
Billie laughed.
"And that would be the downside to long hair." he said.
"Oh shut up.." Kylie said, looking towards Tre` again.
Billie Joe was about to come up with an insult, or ask why she couldn't take a joke, but saw which direction she was looking in.
"Go talk to him" he nuged.
Kylie shook her head.
"Come on, he sees me here, if anything goes wrong...just wave your hands around a bit, and I'll come over."
Kylie thought about it for a minute, and began walking in Tre's direction.
Billie Joe saw Mike emerging from the gym, and began to conversate with him about meeting up at Jack's guitar shop later.
Kylie got more and more nervous as she walked towards Tre`.
"Hey." she said, so faintly it couldn't be considered a whisper. But suprisingly, Tre heard.
He didn't look up. "Hey." he said back.
"Listen.." Kylie began, "I still really want to be your friend okay? But it's just--"
Tre interrupted. "Why did you break up with me?" He asked.
Kylie sighed. "You remember that talk we had..after we had been dating about two weeks?"
Tre nodded his head, and then realized what had happened. "Oh..thats..thats why?"
Kylie nodded her head.
Tre hopped down off of the railing, and held one of Kylie's hands.
"Hey, I'm sorry. Alright? I really am. And I promise, I won't make you do anything you don't want to, alright? I promise."
Kylie looked at his eyes. She wanted to say no so badly, but couldn't. She nodded her head, and hugged him.
"Hey Billie, I guess they're back together again, eh?" Mike said, pointing at Tre and Kylie.
"Yeah." Billie Joe said. "I guess they are.", and hung his head.
"You okay man?"
Billie shook his head, trying to empty it of sadness. "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. What do you say we go to a coffee shop or something before we head to Jack's?"
Mike shrugged his shoulders.
Billie Joe got on his skateboard, and hit the pavement with his foot slowly, so that Mike would be able to catch up.
"Excuse me Mam!!" Mr. Ray said.
