Too Much Too Soon, chapter 3

At the "Frothy Monkey" (coffee shop)-
Mike sat, drinking his coffee, while Billie Joe fiddled with his straw.
"Seriously, what's wrong?" Mike asked.
Billie looked up, "Nothing. Everything is just fine.." He said, emphasizing the word 'fine'.
Mike rolled his eyes.
The bell on the double doors to the coffee shop swooshed open, and Billie turned his head to see who the customers were.
"Oh, look, it's the new couple" Billie Joe said, and began fiddling with his straw again.
"Hey guys." Tre said, and pulled out a chair, and sat next to Mike.
"I'm gonna go get a frozen...vanilla..something." Kylie said, and walked to the counter.
She eyed the words "The Frothy Monkey, the best Coffee shop in town" on a black t-shirt. The letters were in bright green block letters. She ordered her drink, and then asked for a small sized t-shirt aswell, and then walked back over to the table.
"Hey you guys, look at this!" she said, holding up her shirt.
Billie Joe looked up from his 'straw fiddling' and his eyes got wide at the shirt, and then he burst out laughing.
Kylie frowned. "Well I thought it was cute." she said, folding the shirt and putting it back into the brown bag.
"It is cute. Just like you." Tre said.
Kylie raised an eyebrow. Tre had never been this complimentive towards her before.
Tre shrugged. "Hey, I'm just telling the truth."
Kylie soon felt an arm being put around her shoulders.
Billie Joe couldn't take it anymore.
"Mike," he began, "What do you say we hit that guitar store now?"
"Sure." Mike said, "Hey, you guys want to come?"
"Yeah, I gotta be home by.." Kylie looked at her watch, "Wait, nevermind, my parents arent home."
"Nah, I think I'm gonna go practice drums for a while, catch up with you guys later." Tre said.
Billie Joe sighed with relief, but spoke too soon, as Tre and Kylie kissed goodbye, Billie cringed.
-At Jack's guitar store-
"Oh, I like this one." Kylie said, holding up a sunburst electric guitar.
She looked at the price.
"This is over 300 dollars!!" She exclaimed.
Mike shrugged. "So what..your parents gave you 500 dollars cash incase of emergancy, right?"
Kylie nodded her head.
"So, your other guitar is practically shot, I say this would be an emergency." Billie Joe said, whilst strumming a black and white guitar.
Kylie thought about it for a few seconds, and then went to the front of the store.
"I'll still have enough leftover for food and stuff..and theres already food at my house, so what would it hurt?" she said.
"Exactly." Mike said, giving her thumbs up.
Kylie made her purchase, and walked out of the store, her face painted with a smile.
"What do you say we bum around town a bit?" Billie Joe suggested, anxious for something to cure his current boredom.
Mike and Kylie both shrugged their shoulders.
The group began walking down the street, pointing at random signs, laughing at ridiculous clothes in store display windows, and tripping across something every once and a while.
"Hey," Mike said, bending down, "Lookie at what I found!" he said, holding up a packet of cigarettes.
Billie Joe held out his hand, "Gimme one." he simpley stated.
"Anyone gotta light?" Mike asked.
Kylie searched through her purse.
"Yeah.." she said, holding up a purple lighter.
Billie Joe took it from her, and lit the cigarette.
"Want one?" he asked.
Kylie hesitated. What could it hurt, she thought, her parents weren't home to catch her.
She took the cigarette, and lit it.
Kylie started coughing.
Mike and Billie Joe laughed.
"You have to exhale!!" They both said inbetween laughter.
Mike dropped his cigarette on the ground.
"Who's up for some food?" he asked.
"I am. Who wants leftovers from my house?" Kylie said.
"Don't you have money?" Mike asked.
Kylie nodded. "But I'm just going to buy frozen dinners with it."
Billie Joe and Mike looked at eachother, then at Kylie.
"Whatcha got?" They both asked.
Kylie laughed. "How does chicken sound?"
They both didn't have the happiest looks on their faces, but nodded, and followed Kylie to her house.
"We need cars." Billie Joe stated.
Kylie nodded. "Nice ones." she added.
Mike rolled his eyes.
"Hey Billie!!"
Billie Joe cringed. "On the count of three," he began. "Start running."
"Whatchall doing?" Charolette asked. She was the girl who had had a Crush on Billie Joe for 3 years.
"FORGET THE NUMBERS, RUN!" Mike yelled, which caused the others to laugh.
They all ran for about a block, and were at Kylie's house.
"Damn..all..Charolettes.." Billie Joe panted.
Kylie giggled. "What?" Billie Joe asked, and began to look himself over, and as he got to his pants, he saw they were not all the way up, and you could see his bright blue boxers.
He blushed, and pulled them back up.
"Nice boxers." Mike said, patting him on the back.
"Yes, very stylish." Kylie added, and started walking up the stairs to her room.
"I thought we were gonna eat!" Mike yelled.
Kylie yelled back "Eat later! Play now!" Mike raised an eyebrow, but soon understood, as he heard the sounds of Kylie's new guitar coming from her room.
"Well," Mike began, opening the fridge, "I'm gonna eat."
"Alright." And Billie Joe began walking up the stairs.
