The Prom Night That Brought Us Together, chapter 1

Katie was an average girl tring to get through high school. Luckly it was her last year. Her life was a toatl bore. She had one friend named April. April was actually her best friend. Katie didn't have any parents because when she was 7, they died in a car accident.
She had her own apartment when she turned 16 because of her job at Walmart. Every time when it came to the date of her parents death, she would stay a home and cry her eyes out.

She would think,"If it wasn't for me asking my parents to go to the store to pick up me things because I was sick and I couldn't do it, they would still be here."

She plamed her parents death on herself.

She'd go to school in the morning at 7:30am so that she wouldn't be late. She would keep up with her grades so that she could go to the perfect college. She would make the honor roll and always make the right choises.

Girls at school would talk about her. They would talk about her hair, her face, just make up rumors about her, and would talk about her clothes because she was punk and they weren't. They would say these thinks right infront of her, like she wasn't there, like she didn't exist.

She could always remeber when her parents would tell her that she was a pretty girl and all the boys would want her and would go after her. She knew that they were lying and that they just said that to cheer her up. But it always worked.

Katie and April have always been best friends. They have even been best friends before Katies' parents have died. When people would talk about Katie, April would stand up for her.

"Thanks April for sticking up for me back there," Katie replied.

April gave Katie a smile and said, "You're welcome, but you need to learn how to stick up for yourself so they will leave you be."

Katie just gave a sigh, "Yea I know."

Katie and April would do everything together. They would go shopping and go to lunch together. April was like Katies sister.

April would have boy friends from time to time, but Katie never did. April would try to help Katie find a boy friend, ut Katie would just turn it done.

Katie just liked her life as it was, so she thought. She thought that her life was as good as it'll come. She didn't think that she was the right girl friend material.

Half of the year was over and Katie was trying to figure out what to do with her life.
SHe didn't know either to become a school teacher, a theripist, or a hai stylist in Hollywood. Finally she decided and she was going to become a hair stylist in Hollywood. She put out aplications to Votec Schools.

It came to that night when there would be a school prom. Katie didn't really want to go because she didn't have a date, where her best friend April did. April talked her into going.

"Come on Katie, it will be fun and plus whats there to do tonight anyway?" April replied."

Katie thought about and said, "Fine I'll go."

April was very happy and said, "Great and I'll find you a guy to dance with."

Katie just sighed and replied, "Fine."

When she got off the phone Katie thought about what to wear. She had a pink dress with a black bow to go around her waist. From working at Walmart, she had save up her money so that she could wear some dimonds with her dress. She also wore black high heels and she put her hair in a bun, so that people could see her dimond earings.

She went outside and waited for April and her boyfriend Tre. Soon enough they arrived. She went into the car.

"Hi," April and Tre replied.

Katie just gave them a short smile and said, "Hi."

Tre looked back at Katie and said, "I know a guy that you could dance with and I think he might kinda like you."

Katie was really shocked, so she said with excitement, "Who?"

"Billie Joe Armstrong, I heard him say something nice about you before."

Well I kinda do like him, I mean I seen him before and I thought he was kinda cute," Katie said with a smile looking at the floor.

April looked back at her with confusion, "I didn't know that, if you liked him you should have told me so I could get you two to go out with each other."

"I just didn't want him to know because I just thought he wouldn't like me, "Katie replied.

The subject was dropped and they went to the prom. Finally they got there.

She just walked in with a smile on her face thinking about what Tre said about Billie Joe might liking her. She just didn't think a guy would like her.

At the prom she saw Billie Joe just setting by himself looking around. She figured to take a seat right next to him.

They made eye contact and Billie Joe said, "Hi."

"Hi," she said, but was shy to say.

So do you like the dance?" Billie Joe said.

Katie just looked at his beautiful green eyes that standed out in the light, "Yea its ok I guess. What about you, do you like the dance?"

"Same here, the dance is ok." Billie Joe said with a smile.

They sat and talked for a few minutes, but a girl came over and asked Billie Joe to dance with her.

"Yea you can go dance with her, it's ok." Katie was disipointed.

Billie Joe had a sad look on his face because he wanted to dance with Katie, but didn't want her to know because he thought that she would reject him. He went an danced with that girl, her name was Morgan.

Katie saw something that made her cry, when she saw Morgan and Billie Joe kissing. While April and Tre were dancing they saw her and ran after her.

April said to Tre with fear, "Hey I'll check Katie."

"Ok and I'll have a talk with Billie Joe."

"Ok." April said while running after Katie.

"Hey Billie Joe I have to have a talk with you, its about Katie." Tre said with a angry look on his face.

Billie Joe came over and said, "So what is it?"

"You know how me and you have been friends well anyway what you just did I don't agree with." Tre said having his hands on his waist.

"Well what it it?" Billie Joe was really curious.

Tre got up in Billie Joes face and said, "The problem is that you kissed Mrogan and Katie is upset about it. I told her that you liked her, which you do and she liked you, but didn't have the guts to tell you it. She crying because you kissed Morgan."

Billie Joe had a shocking look on his face and said, "Wow man I didn't know that she liked me and if I knew that I woudn't have danced or kissed Morgan."

Billie Joe ran looking for her.

While Billie Joe was looking for her April found Katie and was talking to her.

"I thought that he liked me because thats what Tre said." Katie said that while wiping her tears.

April bowed down to her and said, "It's ok honey, but you can't blame him because he didn't know that you liked him."

"Yea I know." Katie replied.

Billie Joe came running out and said, "Katie!"

April left them two be and went back out to the dance floor.

Billie Joe wiped her tears and said, "I'm so sorry about what I did."

Katie looked into his green eyes that glowed and said, "I liked you since the first time I saw you, but I just didnt't think you would like me."

Billie Joe pulled her up and said, "Yea I did like you, but I didn't have the guts to tell you."

So they both went out back to the dance floor holding hands.

"So you want to dance?" Billie Joe said smiling.

Katie was shy, but she said, "Sure, but I'm not a good dancer."

"Thats ok neither am I." Billie Joe said that while putting his arm around her skinny waist.

They start to dance. She laid her head on his chess and he had his hands on her lower back that was almost to her abutt. He loolked at her and gave her a kiss o her forhead. They were in love.
