When You Love Everybody, But Yourself..., chapter 1

Lucy was the nicest and sweetest girl you could ever meet... And yet everybody hated her. She smiled for everyone while they just blankly stared at her or gave her bad looks. She didn't care on the outside. But deep down. She really did. Deep down she hated herself. Everything about her was a mistake. "God hates me". She thought. "You WERE a mistake" was the way her mother put it. For some reason nobody liked her. They always talked about her behind her back and made fun of her. And she could never find out why. "Is it my looks?. Or my hair. Is it the hair? Or the way I talk... No. Thats not it." she thought to herself everyday.

Lucy woke up one morning to the sound of her alarm clock.
"Six fifteen already?!" she thought.

She got up and put on her slippers as she walked out of her room and into the bathroom. She looked at her reflection in the mirror. She was never one to think she was pretty. She hated herself. She hated her body and everything about her. She sighed and brushed her hair. After her hair was her teeth. As well as her face and her make-up. She walked out of the restroom and into her closet. She grabbed a plain red t-shirt and some jeans. She grabbed her book bag and headed towards the kitchen.

As she stepped into the kitchen she saw her older sister Lilly walking out. Lilly glared at Lucy. Lilly hated Lucy like everybody else. She blamed Lucy for their parent's divorce. Before Lucy, her parents and Lilly were like the perfect family. Until Lucy came in the picture. Her parents couldn't afford to have another child and started fighting constantly. Soon after, they just had enough and divorced which left Lilly heart broken.

"Lilly, you ate all the cereal!" Lucy whined to her older sister
"So? Its not like you deserve it anyways" Lilly replied. Lilly was wearing jeans and a concert tee of The Ramones which their father gave to her before he left. She wore it everyday until he came back. But he never did. She had Black hair with purple highlights. Lucy, on the other hand, had strait, long brown hair with bangs which covered her eyes.

"Well, you know, I need something to eat too." Lucy said searching for something.
"Go eat yourself" Lilly said finishing up her math homework. "... So mom and dad can get back together" Lilly said under her breath. But it was just loud enough for Lucy to hear. This was one of the many remarks Lilly had said to Lucy.

"Go fuck a cow." Lucy said as she grabbed a granola bar.

Their mom was never home. Lucy liked that fact seeing how she loved to avoid her mother's remarks and glares. She already had enough of those from the people at school and her sister. She didn't want it from her own mother.

"I miss mom..." Lilly trailed off.
"Yeah? Well I don't. She hates me"
"Everybody hates you. You ruined our perfect family. The only reason she's not here is because she's working her ass off to keep both of us alive." Lilly scolded.
Lucy knew better not to comment on those types of remarks. She just ignored them.

"Well, I'm going." Lucy said as she grabbed her book bag once again and headed for the door.
"Don't come back.." Lilly trailed off.

Lucy ran onto the bus and sat in her usual seat. The last row to the right and by the window. She put on her headphones. The only thing that took her mind off all the hatred coming towards her was her music... 15 minutes later the bus arrived at her school. Rosemead Highschool. It was the most ghetto school you could ever see. The school was a pale/faded shade of peach. What a great school color eh? She crossed the street and entered the school.

"I got it! I GOT IT!" Bristol said as she ran towards the football, her best friend Matt threw. The football ran right into contact with Lucy's head.

"DIRECT HIT! Matt yelled
"Ohhh sorry. Stupid Matt.!" Bristol yelled. They both walked off laughing.

Lucy just kept walking. She walked to the bathroom every morning which was where her and her best friend Larissa met. Larissa had black, short, flipped out hair with purple bangs. They had met in the first grade and had been best friends ever since. The one thing that attracted them the most was that they were the only first graders in the whole school who had known who The Clash and The Ramones were.

"HEY!" Larissa greeted Lucy.
"Hi" Lucy said back. Lucy began rubbing her head.
"Whats wrong?" Larissa asked pointing to her head
"Matt threw a football at my head and Bristol was pretending to catch it but instead she let it hit me" Lucy said wincing to the pain.
"Oh forget them. I have the coolest news EVER!" Larissa said with a big grin
"What?"
