Geek in the Pink, chapter 1
Well, it's an usual day at my friggin boring school. I still don't get the point why my mom and dad wanted me to go to school, it's useless. As long as I can play the guitar, I think that's enough for me to live.
So, I walked into my biology class, thinking about sleeping as usual, because the bio teacher, Mrs Wells is completely dumb. I've been sleeping in her classes ever since I knew that she wouldn't scold people who take a nap during her class.
However, that day she brought in a new girl. That girl was a complete geek, with thick glasses and un-fashionable clothes. She brought heavy books and she looked around the class shyly. She wore a stupid pink t-shirt, that makes her even looked more geekier than anybody. I don't know, it's what I think.
"Class! This is Maria, from New York. She decided to move to LA. Well, give her a nice warm welcome to the west!" Mrs. Wells said happily.
"You can sit next to Joseph if you want," she continued, smiling at Maria.
Maria nodded and went to sit next to me.
"Hi," she said shyly.
"Hi," I replied simply.
She smiled a bit then she focused her attention on Mrs. Wells.
Mrs. Wells started to teach and teach and teach some bio stuff, which I did not understand. So, in just 3 minutes, I fell asleep, and so did some other people. The ones who stayed awake were usualy total geeks.
Finally, the bell rang. I woke up and grabbed my bag. I headed to the canteen.
I sat alone at a table, eating my burger and french fries hungrily.
But then, Maria came straight to my table.
"Hey. Can I sit here?" she asked politely.
I was quite stunned, because she was quite brave to ask me. Well, in account her being a geek and stay-awake-during-bio-class.
But then I thought, why not?
"Ok."
She sat down and ate her lunch. We ate our lunch in silence.
"Well, I think you fell asleep in Mrs. Wells class, isn't it?" she asked.
I nodded.
"You do that everytime?" she asked.
I nodded again. "Nobody would stay awake in her class."
"Oh."
We continued eating in silence.
"Do you like music?" I asked her.
She nodded. "I like."
"What band you listen to?"
"A lot. Like, Green Day, Blink-182, My Chemical Romance, Korn.."
"Korn? Man, korn. It's metal. I couldn't believe a girl like you would listen to Korn," I said, pretty surprised.
She just smiled.
