Kiss The Demons Out Of My Dreams, chapter 8

‘Billie tell me what’s bothering you?’, Steph asked, following Billie-Joe down the hall way. He remained silent as he walked to the spare bedroom. She followed him inside wanting him to speak as they hadn’t talked all morning.
‘Are you going to talk to me now?’, She asked him again, wanting him to speak.
‘About what?’, he snapped at her. Steph looked up into his eyes, with a scared look. He had never done that before to her. She kept her cool and asked him again.
‘What I’m gonna talk to you about how you and Tre were totally all over eachother in the lounge right infront of me!’, he exclaimed. He threw himself onto the bed, and frowned, crossing his arms and legs.

‘What? Billie, I was not all over Tre. And if you’re talking about the incident in the lounge this morning, it was nothing’, she snapped back, getting defensive. Billie did a kind of laughing chock and stared her down once again.
‘Steph I saw it. He was all over you. He couldn’t control himself’, Billie cried out.
‘Bill, it’s not like I wanted it to happen. It just did’, Steph told him. Billie flicked his eyes to the ground.
‘Bet you enjoyed it’, he mumbled quietly.
‘Bet I what?’, she asked with a tone. He looked back up at the angry and shocked girl standing infront of him. His eyes seemed to stare right through her, and after a few minutes he lay back down on the bed. They continued to argue irrationally at eachother.
‘I don’t believe, you think, I still like him’, Steph assumed out a-loud. Billie rolled his eyes.
‘No I don’t think you still like him. I know you do’, he replied. Steph was taken back again by what was said.
‘Billie, I don’t’, she cried back.
‘I even bet he was the one with you alone on the night of the formal’, Billie cursed, getting up. Steph stepped infront of him and looked him deep into the eyes. The green in them seemed to be clouding over into a dark and morbid grey tinge.
‘I don’t believe you’re thinking this. Billie you know I love you, you’re the only one’, she said, trying to convince him she was being as serious as she could.
‘Bet you’d rather be saying all this to Tre’, Billie said, mistakenly out aloud. Steph dropped her eyes and bit her lip hesitantly before she ran out of the bedroom to the lounge.

-The Pool side *that night*-

‘Don’t let BJ get to you’, Mike told his sister, sitting beside her. He let his legs kick around in the water splashing it everywhere. They heard the sound of fighting and skid marks coming from the front of the house.
‘Must be the gang teens in the neighbourhood’, they both thought synchronized.
‘Mike how can I not let it get to me’, she asked him, giving him a look for acting childish. He let a sorry look cross his eyes before he replied to her.
‘So, did you two speak again after you walked out of the room, or......’, Mike asked curiously.
‘No I just left and went to the lounge.......and like an hour later I heard the front door open and shut, and no one came in so I’m guessing he left’, she said coldly with a worry in her tone, ‘Mike I’ve never seen him like that. He just totally snapped at me’, she finished, leaning back on her hands.
‘He’s probably just worked up, or worried about something. You know how things have been for him at home’, Mike told her, giving her a hug, ‘Just let him have his time’. The two sat there, in silence Mike comforting his sister like he usually did. They were disturbed by a bloody faced Tre.

‘Tre dude’, Mike let out, getting up to keep his friend upright and stable. Tre trembled for a moment trying to keep his feet firm on the ground. He mumbled a few words as blood poured from his mouth spilling on both Mike and Steph. They anxiously walked him over to a pool lounge and sat him down.
‘Tre, tell us what happened’, Steph said. She was going to get this out of him no matter, even if he tried to keep it all under wraps. Tre instead though spilt the beans on everything instantly. It was like information he couldn’t keep a secret.
‘Billie and I.....we had a fight......and he drove into............’, Tre finished mumbling off the rest of his sentence.
‘Billie what?’, Steph asked her eyes making tears straight away, wondering that fate had done.
‘He was drunk and he, drove the car into the........’, he said, more blood pouring from his mouth. He looked up at Steph and took her hand.
‘We tried to stop him but.......’, he said, collapsing back into the chair. Steph got up from his side and ran to the front of the house hearing the sound of ambulance sirens ringing from the distance.

-The Hospital-

‘Is he alright? When can I see him? What condition is he in?’, all these questions were being thrown at the doctor who was looking quite stunned. He sat Steph down in a chair outside the emergency ward and calmly spoke to her.
‘He looks about all right. He’s regained consciousness, but he might not be able to talk yet. The accident scene was quite bad’, he told her trying to relax her.
‘I KNOW IT WAS BAD’, Steph snapped back at him, ‘I SAW IT!’, she exclaimed. The doctor put his arms on her shoulders to keep her seated, while Steph made her eyes burn a hole right through him. Tears came to her eyes, as he tried continuously to calm her down. Tre and Mike came walking down to where she was. Tre covered from head to toe with bandages around him crutches supporting him.
‘Hey’, Steph said as her eyes met with Tre’s. They smiled as he made himself sit down beside her. Their hands seem to find eachother and then sunk down together in the seats.
‘What did the doc say?’, Steph asked, turning her back on the other doctor with her, before he walked off back into the emergency ward.
‘I’ve gotta have these bandages on me for a week, and then they’ll see’, he informed her, closing his eyes as he rested back on the chair. Steph and Mike exchanged glances before a doctor came out, and over to them.
‘Are you here for Mr. Armstrong?’, she asked taking her gloves off. They nodded not being able to speak, both thinking the worst of what could have happened. She looked at Mike, knowing Steph had been waiting her all night, and started speaking to him, explaining how one of them could go in to see him. Steph’s eyes lit up, until she remembered Tre being out here. The three came to the conclusion that Mike should go in while they waited out here. Mike did so.

‘Steph...’, Tre said slowly, gulping as he finished.
‘Yes’, she said turning to him. Their eyes met, but she broke the contact that was between them.
‘I’m sorry about the other night. I really am’, he said in a regretful tone.
‘Tre it’s alright. That was...well...it just happened and we couldn’t control it’, she said softly, wondering what Tre was thinking. He was doing the same thing. He tightened the grip he had around her hand.
‘You know, everything in that letter...everything...its all true’, he told her closing his eyes and leaning back against the chair.
‘I know Tre...I know...’, she said wondering if this would all turn back on her.
‘And...and...’, he finished before Mike came running out to them both in tears..
