'Cause Now I Know It's All That I Wanted, chapter 17
I woke up to the shower starting, then I looked over at the clock, it read twelve. Wow, we slept really late. I didn't feel like getting up so I just laid there until Mike came out with only a towel.
"Good morning sunshine," he laughed while kissing my forehead.
"Hey babe," I replied groggily.
"You slept really late."
"I slept late? What about you?"
"I woke up like four hours ago."
"Oh, sorry," I giggled.
"It's ok, hey, guess what?" he asked excitedly while sitting indian style on the bed.
"Hmm?" I half groaned, half asked him.
"You feel like going to the interview?"
"About what?"
"About you of course, and how I wooed you into marrying me."
"Wooed? More like I met you when I came to the bottom of the stairs like Cinderella at the ball."
"And how I saw you and feel for you like Prince Charming when you came down those stairs."
"Hmm, that was cheesy."
"Glad you enjoyed it."
"Ok, well excuse me for a moment," I said while running to the bathroom.
"That's wonderful," I said while wiping my mouth and walking out of the bathroom after throwing up a gut. I came out of there while Mike was going through my clothes.
"Um hun, if you wanted some of my clothes, you could've just asked you know?" I laughed while hugging him from behind.
"Huh? Oh sorry, no, but I was wondering what you were going to wear to the interview, I think that white blouse and the black skirt would look good."
"Mike Dirnt, fiancé, soon to be husband and father, shopping partner, payer of dinner and fashion consultant," I laughed.
"Oh shut up," he said. I laughed while I changed into the white blouse and the black shirt. I struck a pose at Mike and he laughed and nodded.
"Bravo, now let's go to lunch, the interview is at four on live national television."
"How wonderful," I said sarcastically.
"Isn't it though?" he smiled. We were unusually happy and hugging each other while walking around the shops where we had lunch and some coffee while people begged Mike for his autograph. Some were subtle actually, they weren't begging, they just came up to Mike and said, "I love your band," or "you play bass awesomely." Then he just smiled and asked if they wanted an autograph and signed something and they said I was a lucky woman.
"Ok, time to go get ready with everyone, did I tell you that everyone else is coming?" he asked me.
"Um, no," I replied.
"Oh well, they are."
"Thanks for the update."
"You're welcome future Mrs. Dirnt."
I chuckled while we kissed and walked to the house and got all of our clothes. I couldn't believe it, my first interview and I was close to losing my mind. I was frantic while Adie and Billie Joe were trying to calm me down.
"Imagine what she'll be like on her wedding day," Billie Joe said to Mike. I gave him a glare and stuck my tongue out at him.
"Just remember, if you don't feel comfortable answering one of their questions, just look at me ok?" Mike asked me. I nodded and hugged him for resurrance.
"Ok, well we're going, but don't be nervous, I'll be right by you holding your hand," he kissed my cheek and put his arm around my shoulders as we rode in comfortable silence.
We got to wherever they were interviewing us and I felt my stomach being kicked slightly and I whispered what happened in Mike's ear. He smiled at me and rubbed my stomach as he kissed me and we were grinning from ear to ear. We walked into the whatever you call it place and we met the person that was going to interview us, it was a woman, she seemed nice enough, but she seemed to flirt with Billie Joe a lot.
But he kept putting his arm around Adie so that made me happy that he noticed it, we talked and chatted for a little while and then we got our clothes and make up done and we walked out to the interview. I was so nervous it wasn't even funny, well in a way it was because Billie Joe was laughing at me the entire time I was in make up and I just got paler and paler while I got more and more blush put on my face, then it was too much when I was embarrassed so they had to start again.
"Ok, we're going out there, try and not to throw up on stage ok dear?" Adie joked with me. I laughed while just Green Day came out and they interviewed them for a bit, the interviewer was getting on my nerves honestly.
"Ok, so what's it like the lead singer of Green Day?" the interviewer asked, wow what an original question. Adie and I just talked and laughed at some of the responses of our guys. Then we were summoned on there as I sat next to Mike the interviewer started asking questions.
"So, what's it like, being with the members of Green Day?" she asked us.
"Um, it can be hard sometimes, with the tours and all of that, but you have to adapt really," Adie said. I just nodded my head in agreement.
"But it's also very nice because they're such gentleman and they don't boost about they're success or anything like that," I added.
"Ok cool, so India I heard there is a special theme to you and Mike's wedding, do you mind sharing?" I laughed to this question, I almost forgot about our theme.
"Mike and I are using a 'Phantom of the Opera' theme to our wedding, the people are going to have those masks just like the play. It's going to be awesome," I said this while I held Mike's hand he gave it a squeeze. I grinned while the interviewer continued our interview for about an hour before the awkward questions came.
"So, I hear some people are getting concerned because India is only twenty and Mike is thirty-two, what do you say?" she asked me and Mike. I just traded glances with Mike and he nodded, so he answered for me.
"We don't really care what other people think of it, because we love each other. Love comes when you least expect it, so I met India, then we started dating for about seven months before I realized that this was the woman I wanted for the rest of my life," he replied. I smiled at him as I kissed his cheek, I didn't care if I was on national television, this was my fiancé for pete's sake.
The interviewer paid attention to mostly Billie Joe and Adie and then back to me and Mike.
"So I hear you're a teacher, do your students know about you?"
"What about me? That I'm about to be married to Mike Dirnt and daughter of Tré Cool? How could they not? Mike comes and visits me almost everyday, Billie Joe comes sometimes. I was in the newspaper another time and in case you haven't noticed, I kind of have an engagement ring on my finger the size of Alabama."
Whoa was that a mood swing, I hope it wasn't, wow this is embarrassing.
"So you're saying that the ring is what makes the engagement?" she asked me. Now she was ticking me off.
"Did I say it was? No, I didn't, why are you paying attention to all of the positive things I say into negative?"
"Miss Wright, just answer the question."
"I just said that it wasn't, were you paying attention?" I replied with a smirk on my face. I could hear everyone snorting laughter behind me, even Adie. I don't know if it was because I was sort of rude to the interviewer or because they say my mood swing as funny.
We finally got out of the eyes of the interviewer and decided to go eat somewhere else.
"Wow India, I wish I could've told off the interviewer like that," Dad laughed at me.
"I think it was a mood swing personally," I said while scratching my head.
"Who cares? You still told her off, I was getting ready to kill her, she kept looking at Billie Joe," Adie smiled when Billie Joe kissed her.
"I didn't know mood swings could go that smoothly, you got one right on time," Mike laughed. I slapped him playfully as he giggled.
"Good morning sunshine," he laughed while kissing my forehead.
"Hey babe," I replied groggily.
