'Cause Now I Know It's All That I Wanted, chapter 20

Recap

"Please Mike!?" I gave him the infamous puppy dog eyes.

"Fine," he sighed.

End Recap

"I love you," I giggled. He just sighed and walked out of the dressing room while Adie and Alicia walked in. They were both crying and smiling so much that they had to remove their masks.

"Why are you crying?" I laughed.

"I don't know, because I'm a woman and that's my reason," Adie said while dabbing her eyes.

"Good enough for me," Alicia sighed.

I chuckled and sighed while I went behind the screen in the dressing room and talked to them. Then I heard the door open and close.

"Hey India, I need to introduce someone to you when you come out ok?" Lizzie asked me.

"Don't say hi or 'I love you' or anything like that," I giggled.

"Well I would say that, but you know how honest I am," she giggled back. I stuck my head in the side of the screen and stuck out my tongue at her.

"So what's up with this person you want me to meet, he or she?" I continued.

"She, she's the major general of the marines and apparently she owns a really good business, and Jason White knows her," she replied.

"How?"

"Because she leaves here, her name is Iris, she's a sweet person but it was obvious she needed to come back."

"Why did she come back?" I asked, Iris sounded cool, I wanted to meet her already.

"She was shot in the arm."

I looked at Lizzie again to see if she was kidding, she was dead serious.

"So why did you come with her?" I asked.

"Because we explained to her about your wedding, and when we told her who you were marrying, she said she'd think about it, she got shot by a bystander and then she told us that we can go if we would go with her."

"Wow, just a bystander?" I asked.

"Yep, just a bystander."

"Ok, I'm changed, I wanna meet her," I said while walking out in my guacho pants and white and black striped blouse.

"You look great," Lizzie smiled at me.

"Thanks," I laughed.

I walked out to the reception hall, Mike was chatting it up with Jason White and a woman who had black hair that needed to be washed a couple more times, but I can't blame her, she was in Iraq and Jason had his arm around her waist.

"Hey babe," I smiled while Mike leaned down to kiss me. Jason smiled at me while he hugged me and Lizzie just stood there.

"Oh I'm sorry, this is Major General Iris Jinx, she was in Iraq with me," Lizzie smiled. I shook her hand and noticed her eyes, they were the prettiest, darkest brown you could've ever seen.

"Just call me Iris please, when I'm in America, I don't order you around," she directed the last part to Lizzie. Lizzie blushed and went to go talk to Mikey Way and Alicia whom she befriended.

"So, how do you know Jason?" I asked.

"Well it's a complicated story really, but they got me mad one day, said their apologizes, and then we became friends, but then I had to go back to Iraq after only a year of rest, and so I went there for about ten months, got shot, and that's the reason for this," she said while pointing to a tear in her military uniform.

Her uniform was different then Lizzie's, it had more patches then anything, more colorful, and she looked so natural in it. She stood in a parade rest that Lizzie had taught me about.

"Will the bride, and the bride's father please step on the dance floor?" the D. J. Asked. I looked around to find my dad and he came up to me with a smile. He grabbed my hand pulled me onto the dance floor an unfamiliar song that my father picked out.

"What song is this?" I asked my dad.

"Sweet Baby James, good song," he said while I held his hand put my hand on his shoulder while we just swayed. I felt my dad's chest tighten and I looked at him and he was tearing up. The song ended and he was a basket case. I kissed his cheek and I hugged him.

"I love you daddy."
