Are we demented or am I disturbed?, chapter 3

I walked into the old classroom. 'God this school is a dump,' I thought to myself while finding a seat. Once I had taken my seat in the back of the classroom, right next to the window, I scanned the room for familiar faces. I knew hardly anyone now. I used to hang around with the popular kids, but since the 'incident', they pretty much disowned me. I thought back to the day when it all started. When everything began...

I walked nervously into the school grounds. I adjusted my uniform as I walked. I already hated the mundane compulsory black and purple skirt, white shirt and grey jumper. I was suddenly greeted by the reflective glass of a classroom. I checked my hair and makeup. My messy black hair had a red ribbon in it and my black eyeliner and red eye shadow complemented it nicely. I took a deep breath and headed into the office. "Hello, I'm new here, I'm in year 10." I hesitantly waited for an answer.

"Alright miss, I am guessing you are Ruby Willis, is that right?"

I nodded and listened tentatively. "Okay, go sit down over there and a person from your class will be here soon to collect you."

I sat down in the chair she pointed to. I dragged out my diary and found a pencil. I began drawing a person; a girl sitting by a road. I was nearly finished my drawing when I felt someone's eyes watching me like a hawk. I looked up to be greeted by a short raven haired boy. "That's really...good," he said staring at my drawing.

"Oh you think? Hah it's really nothing. I was just bored waiting."

I stared at what I had drawn. An angel sitting by herself, with her wings broken and her dress torn. I smiled at the boy and thanked him for liking it.
"So, I'm Ruby, and you?"

"Frank Iero," he said with a smirk, "So Rubies, how about we go to class now? Can't be late around here..."

"Rubies?" I said with a smile.

"Your new nickname," he said, dragging me in the direction of our class, "I checked our timetables, we have art together first."

"Cool," I said staring at his angelic face.

By the time we reached our classroom, I had learnt that not only was this one of the worst schools in the area, but it was also full of preps and jocks. I can feel myself enjoying it already. "Well, art is my best subject," Frank said while holding open the door for me, "But the teacher is a fucking moron."

He wasn't wrong. I could feel the old man looking at my short school skirt. Perv. I could see Frank clenching his fists as the teacher marked my name of the list and grazed his hand lightly over my bare thigh. We walked to a bench in the back of the classroom and plonked down our bags. "I hate him so much," Frank said through clenched teeth.

"You're lucky you're not female Frankie."

"Hah yeah but god he's a creep. So... I like being called Frankie, it's nice we have nicknames for each other," he said staring into my eyes.

"Yeah it is. Pretty cool I think."

"Hey...do you want to...well...I know we only just met and stuff, but you wanna come over after school? You can meet some of my mates and we can hang out."

"Sure, that would be cool," I said with a smile. No one was ever this nice to me apart from Billie. I jumped at the chance for a new friend.

**After School**

"Yeah so here it is," Frank said as me walked up to his two storey brick house, "It's not too impressive I know," he said looking down at his feet.

"Hey," I said touching his arm, "It's better than my so called home. Come on, I wanna meet your friends."

"Certainly," he said with a grin as he opened the door.

I was greeted by two fairly tall boys, who I had seen around the school earlier.

"So, this is Mike," he said as he pointed to a boy with blue eyes and brown spiked hair, "And this one here is Ray, with the crazy hair," he said as he giggled.

"Hey," they said together.

"Hi, I'm Ruby, nice to meet you."

We watched MTV for an hour, picking out the songs we loved and hated. "Hey Ruby, we'll be right back, just ah... going upstairs for a minute," Ray stuttered out.

"Sure," I said, grinning at my new friends as they made their way up the staircase.
After ten minutes I wondered what had happened to them, so I decided to try find them.

"Frank," I said at the top of the staircase, "Frank, Mike, Ray, are you guys here?"

"Hello?" I said as I went checking through the first two rooms, "Anybody up here?"

"Oh Ruby, this way," I heard a voice call out. I followed the voice until I came to what looked like Franks bedroom. I turned open the door and stood there still as I saw Mike and Ray only in their boxers, and Frank sitting in a chair, as if he was expecting me.

"Nice of you to join us my dear," he crooned, "Come over here, sit on Frankie's lap."

I was shocked; this wasn't the Frank who was so sweet only hours before.

"Er...no thanks Frank, I better be going now, you know how it is, homework and stuff."

"You're not going anywhere," Ray said as he blocked the door.

"We haven't had our fun yet Rubies," Mike sniggered.

Before I knew it, Mike was dragging me onto Franks bed, while Frank sat there, yelling directions to Mike. "Ok, now take off her skirt...now her shirt...now kiss her stomach...now, boxers off Mike...yeah, that's good, are you enjoying this Rubies?"

"Let...me...go. Please, Frank," I cried, "Please, I don't like this."

"Ray, Mike, hold her down for me, it's my turn," he said with a sick grin.

"What are you...?"

"Shh...Rubies, it only hurts for a little while."

I felt his hips nudge against mine as he fumbled with his belt buckle. I gasped for air as I lay shaking as he started to 'have his fun'. "Now, I know you like it when I do this... and this? Don't you Ruby huh, don't you?"

"Stop! Please Frank," I screamed, "I thought we were friends. No! Frank! No!"

"Ruby! Ruby, wake up! Ruby!"

I snapped out of my thoughts. "Ruby, are you ok?" I saw a concerned Billie holding my shoulder. "Billie...I was thinking about it and...I...god Billie it was horrible!"

"Shh...it's ok, I'm here, don't worry. You're fine. Hey guess what they're talking about on the announcements?"

"What?" I said as I dried my eyes.

"The school dance! Who's nominated for king and queen. Hah what a load of crap that is," he said shaking his head.

I laughed at Billie's expression. Always trying to make me happy. "And for school prom queen, the nominees are..."

'Here we go,' I thought to myself. This was always populated by the preppy girls with the false smiles and perfect figures. "Sarah Jenson, Claire Dunkin, Michelle Newman and finally, a late entry, Ruby Willis! May the best queen win!"

I sat in shock. Who the hell would vote for me?

"Billie why the fuck did you nominate me?"

"Huh?" he said confused.

"Why did you nominate me for that stupid queen thing!?"

"I didn't, I swear, I knew not to nominate you, you would have killed me. I swear on...on my life that I didn't nominate you."

He wasn't lying. We were both utterly confused. I looked around the class thinking of who would nominate me as a joke. "Er...Ruby? Um...I'm not sure you want to know this but, guess who's staring at you right now?"

"No way."

"Yes way."

"...Shit"
