Brats On Tight Wad Hill, chapter 2
We were swinging when a car went by. Billie stopped suddenly and looked at Mike.
"Mike, do you have a watch?"
"Yea"
"Well, what time is it?" Billie asked impatently.
"6:30, why?"
"My dad's home!" he exclaimed. He got up from the swing and started to run home." Come on. I want you to meet him!"
Mike and I trailed behind him. We turned the corner and Billie was already there. We both were out of breath.
"Dad!" he ran up and gave him a hug.
"Hey Bill. How are you today?"
"I'm good," Billie said looking over to Mike and me.
"Well who do we have here?"
"Their my friends. They just moved across the street."
"I'm Mike and this is Kelly." Mike told.
"When we start school, Mike and me are going to be in the same class." Billie explained.
"Well what about little Kelly here?" Billie's dad asked.
"First of all, i'm not little. And second, second grade"
"Kids! Dinner!" mom yelled from the house.
"We better get home" Mike said.
"Bye Billie, see you tomarrow." I said running home.

Everything had been so great since we moved here. Everyday, Me, Mike and Billie Joe played together. But then soon summer came to an end and September rolled around and it was time for school once again. School was school I guess. Although I met my new best friend, Rachael. Yup, everything has been great so far. Until...

"Come on Rachael! We got to go get our swings!" I yelled racing to the swing set. We were Queens of the swing set.
"I'm coming! I'm coming!"
"You're so slow" I comented jumping onto the set. We swung higher and higher. But then I looked to the front of the school building. "Is that Billie Joe?" I asked Rachael.
"Where? She looked over too. "Yea it is. He must've gotten in trouble."
I stopped my swing and ran over to him. He was crying.
"Billie what's wrong?" I sat down by him. He looked from the ground up to me. He started crying harder.
"Billie?" I asked again.
"My dad died" he said wiping his nose with his coat sleeve. I leaned over and gave him a hug. He hugged back.
I couldn't think of anything to say. I was speechless. I finally spoke though, "It'll be okay." I said trying to calm him.
"No it's not! My dad died!" he screamed. Soon his mom and the princapal walked over. Ollie's make up was washed away by tears.
"Billie Joe, are you ready to go home now?" she asked calmly. He nodded.
"Bye Kelly" was what he barely said.
I watch the car drive away. I was still in shock. Why of all the peopel in the world, did it have to be Billie's dad? Why would be a question I would ask myself over and over again.
*That night at the Prtichard home*
"So how was your guy's day?" mom asked.
"Okay I guess." Mike admitted. "Although Billie had to leave in the middle of class. I have no clue why?"
I just looked to my dinner plate and played with the corn on it with my fork. OH MY HATRED OF CORN.
*Author's Note*
I also hate corn. Almost as much as I hate PETA. OH MY HATRED OF PETA!
*end of note*
"Did he get in trouble?" she asked unknowingly.
"I don't think so" he replied.
I couldn't take it anymore. "HIS DAD DIED!" I yelled running to my room.
"Apparently his dad died" Mike proclaimed.
"Mike, do you have a watch?"
"Yea"
