Spotlight- A Cool Story, chapter 7
RECAP
Ramona is serenaded from her lawn by Jaxon.
END OF RECAP.
I woke up with a gasp. It was just a daydream. I looked at my stomach. still nice and flat. Jaxon finished playing the song and I applauded, still freaked from the dream. He smiled shyly, and looked up to me. I blew a kiss at him, and heard footsteps in the hall. I blew another kiss, promised I'd phone him later and closed the window and blinds, jumping into bed and frantically scrambling under the covers. There was a knock on my door, and I said nothing. Another knock, still insistent but quiet. I gave a sleepyish groan. "What..." I murmured, and heard a small cough. I stood, checked myself in the mirror for possible dad-encounter clothing mistakes. A black pair of short short boxers made of black lace and cotton, and a black bra with my converses. Good enough, I guessed. I opened the door before I realized that everyone that could possibly in the house were away. Frankito; at a birthday party for his girlfriend. Stephen and Mom were out to a funeral of an obscure relative of mine. Dad: went back home with Thorin. But when I opened the door, all possible logic flew out the door.
"Spider..." I started, breathing out. My adrenalin kicked in, and a dizziness flowed into my head. He answered me by pressing his lips on mine and pushing his way into my room, closing the door with his foot. He was still shirtless and his black hair was mussed. His eyes. So dark, so blue. I wasn't thinking, and it felt great. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pressed back to him. The passion between us rose sharply and we fell onto the bed.
It was morning. I knew it. But I didn't want it. I wanted it to still be night. That was an amazing dream. So vivid and real. The sweat. The images. It was perfect. And whatever it was, it felt a lot better than anything that ever happened with Jason. I stretched my arms and rolled onto my side, opening my blurry eyes. I blinked a few times before it clocked in and I screamed. Spider woke up instantly, falling off the bed. I screamed again, and pulled the blankets around me, running and generally falling from the bed to the floor. If I wasn't so terrified, I would have laughed. He was on the ground too, and groaned. As he sat up, he looked at me angrily.
"God, Ramona. Good morning to you too!" His eyes were back to the same milky white I knew, and his face was significantly less attractive all gnarled up in his half-awakeness and rubbing his head.
"SPIDER?!" I screamed, standing up, but everything from last night flooded back and I fell onto my knees, shaking. "Oh, god. Oh my god..."
"Fuck..." He groaned, and it must have came back to him too. His mouth opened and he scrambled around, grabbing his pants and pulling them on.
"Oh my god, oh my god..." I was hyperventilating.
"Ramona. Breathe." He stood in front of me and bent to help me up. I panicked.
"DON'T TOUCH ME YOU FREAK!!" I cried, baring my teeth to him. He flinched back and took a few steps away. I took the opportunity to stand and walk towards him menacingly. "You BROKE into my house! And KISSED ME. and I SLEPT WITH YOU!!!" I grabbed a pillow and beat him repeatedly with it. He rolled into a ball on the floor, trying his best to block my furious pillow clubbing.
"We did more than sleep--"
"But--"
"Ramona--"
"OW. GOD! Stop--"
"Didn't you like it?" He sounded so confused, but I was pissed, to say the least. After a while, I was on the floor in front of him, clutching the pillow and panting between the various curses and names I was spewing at him. But he looked at me with those eyes and that smirk, his eyes laughing for him. I couldn't help but laugh softly. Suddenly I heard footsteps. Mom. And Stephen. They were coming back today.
"Shit. Fuck. Shit. Fuckshitfuckshitfuck!" I whispered, standing up and shoving Spider into my closet and grabbing the clothes on the ground and throwing them at him and locking the door and running to the bed, pulling the covers on me. And not a second too late. Mom burst into my room, pulling up the blinds and singing cheerily. Strange.
"Wake up, bluebird!" She sang, and I tried my best to catch my breath. No luck. She raised a perfectly manicured eyebrow at me, and felt my head. "Are you okay? You have a little bit of a fever..." I tried to say something that would even relatively pass as an excuse. But I couldn't say anything. Danggit. "Hmmm... Why don't you put on some warm clothes? Here, I'll get them..." She said, standing and starting to my closet.
