All by myself., chapter 2
Anna's P.O.V.
"Um, I just wanted to ask you to the homecoming dance and game on Friday. Would you like to go with me?" Brandon asked.
"Sure Brandon, I'd love to go."
"Really? Great. I'll pick you up at your house at six, and we can grab a bite to eat before the game."
I walked into homeroom all smiles, but inside I was crying. Why couldn't it have been Mike?
"What did he want?" Mike asked.
"Oh, he asked me to the homecoming game and dance on Friday. I told him yes," I replied.
Mike got an upset look on his face. I wondered why that was. Throughout the rest of homeroom, he ignored me.
Next class was Spanish. Mike had German, so we had to part our ways.
The next class I had with him was lunch, and then I would find out what was up.
Lunch time
"Hey you guys. Doesn't this food suck?" Charlie asked.
"Yeah, it does. Eww, I found something green in my chicken!" I exclaimed.
Mike wasn't at our table. I didn't even see him in the cafeteria. Just then, the opening of the door caught my eye.
It was Mike, carrying a piece of pizza from the pizza place across the street. Billie waved him over, and he started weaving his way through the crowd. Just then, some preppy cheerleader-type walked up to him. I couldn't see her face since her back was towards me. All I saw of her was blonde hair, pulled up in a very high ponytail. Wait, wasn't that how Olivia had her hair today? Oh, no she didn't. Not only was she hitting on Mike, but also she was being disloyal to Trè. I walked up behind her, acting like I was about to throw away my trash.
"Ssslut," I hissed.
She whipped her head around. Just as I thought, it was Olivia.
"What did you just say?" she asked.
"Oh, I said nut. I just found a nut in my food. Or, maybe, I was referring to you."
"Oh, I thought you called me a sl... "
"I wish she had. Look at you, Trè's girl, and your hitting on me!" Mike exclaimed.
"Fine. You two will wish you never messed with me!"
