We're not the ones meant to follow, chapter 2
"Damn you, whoever's calling," I said. "Did you sort it out with your mom?" The voice belonged to Billie Joe. "Man, she was pissed, but I told her the truth," I replied. "Ok, cool... you have a nice mom... " he said. "Dude, don't go hitting on my mom!" I said, laughing. I heard his laughing back. "Does your band want to come on tour with us this summer?" he asked. "Why not... this summer... I will see if I can manage it," I said.
I arrived home shortly after one. My mom wasn't all that mad at me but she was grumpy. I announced that I was going on tour with Green Day that summer. "Coolio," said my younger sister, a crazed Billie Joe fan. "Can I go?" I shook my head. "Why not?" she whined. "'Cause Billie Joe hates teenie boppers," I said in a smart-ass tone. "Mom! MAY CALLED ME A TEENIE!" exclaimed my sister. Let's not call her 'my sister' anymore. Her name is Brianna. "Brianna, no offense, but it's true," called my mom from the kitchen. After I had packed, I drove off to the airport where my band and Green Day met up. "You got everything?" asked Mike. We nodded. "Okay, let's go people, before the teenies arrive."
We made a run for the private jet, just as the teenies attacked. "I CALL THE FRONT LEFT WINDOW SEAT!" shouted Tre as we got in. I went towards the back with our drummer, Mari, our bassist, Krys, and back up guitar and vocalist, Jamisin, basically the whole band. About fifteen minutes after we were settled, we took off.
My phone vibrated again. "Hello?" I said. "Hey, its Bri. Can I talk to Billie Joe?" she said excitedly. "One sec," I said. "Billie Joe, my over obsessed teenie bopper sister wants to talk to you!" He shook his head. "No 'fense Bri, but he doesn't wanna talk to you," I said. "Damn... " she said sadly. "Tell him I said 'hi'." She hung up with a click and I laughed. "Who was it?" Krys asked, looking up from a Simpsons re-run. "Brianna asking to talk to Billie Joe," I replied. Krys started to surf channels. "Awesome... vintage U2... " she said out of the blue on channel 118.
"Fasten your seatbelts, please, we are landing," said a voice. We arrived in California in two more minutes. "Soon as I get into a reasonable hotel room I am sleeping forever," I said groggily. I grabbed my things and followed Billie Joe's back out of the plane. He grabbed some keys out of his pocket and went to a car.
"Maegan, this is car, car this is Maegan," he said. I shook 'hands' with 'car' and laughed. "Hi car," I said. Billie Joe honked the horn as the car's 'hi'. I laughed and pulled my friends out of the line waiting for a taxi.
"I smell bacon... " said a sleepy Tre. "Good, 'cause I am making bacon tomorrow. I fell asleep in the back of the car. "M... M!... M WAKE UP!" I heard someone say. "Wazubuda?" I moaned sleepily. "We're at the hotel, Maegan Elizabeth Mander." I gave Krys the finger and she rolled her eyes. I got out of the car and walked into the hotel with Krys, a song playing in my head.
"Yo, what's up San Francisco!" I said to the concert hall. "We're The Punx, and this song's called 'Today'!" I played with all of my heart that night, it being the best day ever. "Are you all ready to see Green Day!" I shouted. I was answered with a hundred and thirty thousand shrieks and screams.
