J.O.S, chapter 5
Once the car had cooled down, Jesus dumped some water into it and headed back down the road. He turned the radio dial, desperately looking for something decent to listen too. Crap... Crap... Mexican channel... rap... all junk. Jesus flipped the radio off in disgust as he drove down the road. He stopped at a red light and waited.
Jesus glanced at the side walk and saw a girl standing there. A hooker. He blinked. She looked familiar. The hair... the skirt... the legs...
'Hmm... hot legs... ' Jimmy thought hungrily. Jesus shook it off. He blinked as the girl looked up from her spot leaned against the wall. The two made eye contact. Jesus' jaw dropped as the girl froze.
A car honked loudly behind him.
"GO YOU LITTLE PUNK!"
Jesus glared at the man in his rear view mirror and then glanced back at the girl just in time to see her sprinting down the other road. Jesus slammed on the accelerator and turned down the road.
'Damn she run's fast,' he thought as he finally caught up to her. 'Even in those boots... '
'Which don't look half bad on her,' Jimmy thought. Jesus blinked as he parked against the curb and jumped out of the car.
"WHATSERNAME!" he yelled as she ran past him. Jesus took off, following her. The minute seemed like an hour as Jesus caught up to her. He grabbed her wrist.
"Whatsername stop!" he snapped.
"Let me go Jesus!" she cried, trying to struggle out of his grip. She looked up at him and saw that he was not going to give up. She bit down on her lip as tears fell over her eyes. The 18 year old threw herself into his chest and started to cry.
Jesus held her as she sobbed out her entire story. How Tunny was holding it over her head. How she didn't care anymore. How she hated herself and just wanted to sell herself to anyone that was willing to buy. Her parents had talked down to her, telling her that she wasn't capable of anything. That this was her future.
"A-And they were right. Look at me. I turned into exactly who they told me I was going to be... I'm nothing..." she sniffed. Jesus wiped away her running eye liner and tilted her head up so she was looking at him. She pulled her head away.
"I'm so sick of crying," she whimpered, feeling ashamed that Jesus was seeing her like this. He chuckled lightly.
"I've seen my fair share of tears... and I've had my fair share too... you're not the only one who cries or had parents that talked down to you. Believe me, I know," he said. She managed a watery smile and hugged him. Jimmy smiled maliciously as he stared at her ass. Jesus blinked and hugged her back.
"It's weird... I know I just met you last night but... I feel like I've known you for a long time," Whatsername laughed. Jesus smiled. He had driven the two to a pier. They had been sitting there for two hours, spilling their souls to each other.
"Well that's because we have so much in common," Jesus smiled. Whatsername laughed.
"Yeah... we got a lotta crap in common."
"Haha yup. That's us. Common crap."
Jesus looked over at her as she giggled softly. He tucked the red strand of hair behind her ear so he could see her face. She glanced over at him and smiled.
"You're beautiful. You don't need to sell yourself. You can be better than that," Jesus whispered. Whatsername blushed and looked back down at her bare feet. She placed her hand on Jesus' and laced her fingers through his.
"I like you, Jimmy," she said. Jimmy blinked. He looked down at his hand, then over at Whatsername and smirked.
"Well yeah. I mean... I'm me, right?" Whatsername laughed.
"So you have a conceited side too, don't cha?" she said. Jimmy laughed.
"Not conceited, baby. Just honest," Whatsername smiled.
"Well you can make me laugh," she said. Jimmy smiled to himself. He leaned over and kissed her hard on the lips. He pulled away and watched as she blinked from the sudden intense kiss.
"I can make you do so many other things, baby," he said. Whatsername looked over at him. He winked at her and stood up.
"Well, I gotta go pick up the welp. Wanna come with?" he asked. She shrugged.
"Sure. Hey I was wondering. Why did people call you Jesus?" Jesus blinked. He looked around at his surroundings and ran his hand through his hair. He looked around again, this time looking slightly confused.
"What? I'm sorry... what did you say?" he asked.
"Jesus. Why do they call you Jesus?" Whatsername asked as Jesus helped her. He grabbed her boots and handed them to her.
"I never really knew. They all looked up to me. They'll be in chaos with me gone," he explained as he opened the car door. The two jumped inside and began to drive.
"Tunny says that he calls you Saint Jimmy now. What's up with that?"
Jimmy blinked and jumped as he realized he was behind the wheel of a car.
"I dunno... some shit nick name. So... what's your name?" he asked with a toothy smile. She laughed.
"If I haven't told anyone else yet, why would I tell you?"
"Cuz I'm awesome," he replied simply. Whatsername laughed.
"You're funny. So... what do you want me to call you?" she asked.
"Jimmy... call me Jimmy. Jesus is an old name. And I needed a change," he explained as he dangled his left hand out the window. Whatsername nodded as the two skidded around a corner.
"GET IN!" Jimmy yelled at Emily as she stood on the sidewalk.
"HI JESUS!" Sarah called. Jesus blinked and looked around.
'What the hell is going on? Dude this is not cool... I think I'm blacking out or something... how the hell did I get here?' Jesus thought furiously. Jesus made eye contact with Sarah who immediately went crimson. Jesus laughed to himself.
"Hi Sarah. How are you?" Jesus asked. Sarah kicked at the ground and flipped her hair.
"I'm good... " she responded as Emily jumped in the car.
"Bye Sarah. See you tomorrow," Emily called from the back seat window. Sarah waved as Jesus pulled away in his car.
"Jesus change the station!"
"Jimmy, just keep it! I like this song.
"Jesus it too hard rock."
"JIMMY!"
"JESUS!"
"MOTHER OF GOD SHUT UP! Oh my God I think I'm gonna puke. Oh shit... " Jesus mumbled as he pulled over. He jumped out of the car and ran to a garbage can. Whatsername and Emily watched as Jesus vomited into the bin on the street.
"Damn... that wasn't good... I think we gave him a head ache," Whatsername said. Emily sniggered from the backseat.
"Oops."
Jesus wiped his mouth and climbed back into the car. He groaned and placed his head against the wheel.
"You ok?" Whatsername asked as she placed a hand on his shoulder. Jesus ran his hand through his hair.
"I think so... God my head hurts... I feel like someone's trying to crack my skull open," he muttered against the wheel.
"Do you want me to drive us home?" Whatsername asked as she placed a hand on his forehead. Jesus smiled at her.
"No, I'm ok," he said. He sat up straight and shook his head slightly. Jesus pulled off the curb and drove himself and the two girls home.
"Jimmy! My buddy! What's up?" Tunny yelled as Jimmy and the girls walked into the house. Jimmy stopped for a second as he closed the door. He looked Tunny over. 'Oh! The guy I got stoned with. That's right,' he thought, remembering something for once.
"Hey, Tunny. Sup?" Jimmy said as Emily ran to the room in the back to do her math homework.
"Meh, been better. Profits didn't go to well today. No one was buying. I think I'm gonna change to the Denny's down the street. I got these three guys from a band though. They're playing at Gilman later. Thought you might wanna go. Up for it?"
Jimmy nodded. "Sounds sweet. When?"
"6-ish. Hey! Whatsername! You wanna go to a concert tonight?" Tunny yelled to Whatsername even though she was only ten feet away. She rolled her eyes at him.
"Depends... is Jesus going?" she asked with a smile. Jesus blinked and smiled at her.
"No, Jimmy is. Not Jesus," Tunny explained. Jimmy laughed and dangled his feet over the arm rest of the couch. Whatsername just rolled her eyes while muttering "What's the difference?" Jimmy heard her and felt himself scowl.
"The difference is that Jimmy is awesome and can fuck like a minx. Jesus is a pussy. End of story," he grumbled gruffly. Whatsername glanced over her shoulder.
"What?" she asked, utterly confused. Jimmy blinked and then smiled sweetly.
"Nothing babe. Why don't' you come with us tonight? It'll be fun. You, me, Tunny and the random girl Tunny will bring home," Jimmy said sweetly, trying to get Whatsername to come. She smiled back at him.
"Alright. I'll come."
*Concert*
I take a look around
And all the things I've found
I call it blind hatred
If you'd stop a while
And maybe if you'd smile
You would realize that
We're all the same
It's just like our brain
When it apes insane
We feel the same pain
The mosh pit began to slow down as the crowd cheered for the band onstage. The singer smiled brightly to the crowd and ran off stage with the rest of the band.
"See? Told ya they were good," Tunny prodded as he elbowed Jimmy in the side. He just laughed and looked over at Whatsername.
"What's up? You don't look like you're having a good time," he asked. She looked up at him.
"I'm just... confused... " she responded lamely. Jimmy just shrugged, not really caring and turned back to the stage where another band was taking their place.
'Ask her why she's confused,' Jimmy's mind nagged.
'No way! Why do I care?' he thought back.
'FINE! I will then!'
'What the hell do you mean you wi-'
"Whatsername, what's up? How come you're confused?" Jesus asked as he pulled her into his chest. She smiled and rested her head on his shoulder.
"I don't know... Can we just... go home?" she asked as she looked up into his crystal blue eyes. Jesus smiled down at her and nodded.
"Tunny! We're gonna head home," Jesus called to him. He waved him off as he was talking to a blonde in the middle of the crowd. Jesus took Whatsername's hand and pulled her out the door of Gilman.
*Home*
"Bye," Jesus said as he waved to her. Whatsername looked down at her feet and then glanced shyly back up at him.
"Bye..."
Jesus started to walk down to his room when he felt someone grab his shirt from behind. Jesus was yanked back. He spun around and was greeted with Whatsername's lips against his.
Jesus pressed her against the door as the kiss grew stronger. Whatsername pulled away for a second and glanced at the door handle. She looked back up at Jesus.
"Wanna go inside?"
