Don't Lie...You know You Still Love Me..., chapter 8
*After school, around 5 in the evening and Billie Joe is taking a walk*
'What about Jack, What about Jack?' was all that ran through Billie's head while he was taking a walk, trying to clear his mind but it didnt help much. 'Fuck Jack! thats what about, Fuck him.' Billie became sick of caring about Jack's feelings on him and Liz. Billie had Liz, and he really liked her. Jack lossed her because he was a dumbass. Still Billie's mind wasn't clear.
While he was walking down an abondened railroad track,almost at night, he heard footsteps behind him. But when he turned to look and see no one was behind him. Shrugging Billie Joe turned back around to find his friends Mike and Tre right up in his face. Billie screamed like a little girl and almost fell on his feet while Mike and Tre started laughing.
"Well Billie I see your surprised to see us" said Mike.
"Aww Billie we couldn't have let you leave town for nothing! Were moving here too!" yelled Tre.
Billie took Mike's hand as he hugged him.
"But why are you guys moving here? I mean why would your parents move here?" asked Billie, still in shock.
"Well our band really" said Mike.
"Yeah your the leader of Sweet Children and we need you Billie!!" said Tre while he was jumping up and down.
So the 3 boys sat on the railroad tracks, smoked some weed, and talked about their band. "Billie can I ask you a question man?" asked Mike who was cleary blazed out of his mind.
"Whats that man?"
"Why are you still in school?"
Billie looked at him and asked, "What do you mean Mike?"
"Well Billie you know you have the talent for this band and you know that school is just a waste for you. Just quit it man. All our lives it has been music and this band, school is just getting in the way for you."
Billie thought about this for a minute and then said, "You know Mike you might be right, but I dont know about Elizabeth. I dont wanna leave her but this band is all I have."
"Yeah hey guys I have a question" said Tre who was balancing on the tracks.
"Whats that Tre" asked Mike.
"Why is the name of our band called 'Sweet Children'?
Mike and Billie both gave him wierd looks and both said, "I dont know"
"Well I think we should rename it, maybe Green Day."
"Why Green Day Tre?" asked Billie.
Tre looked at him then looked down at his blunt he had in his hand, "Well because were having a 'green day'!"
The boys all laughed and agreed that the new name of the band would be green day, since their day had been so 'green'.
So for the rest of the day the boys sat on the railroad tracks, got high and had fun. But all Billie could think of, most of the time, was how he was going to break the news to Liz about him droping out.
