The teenies from hell and the band that saved the day!, chapter 6
The last song in their tournament, the crowd was going wild. They wanted to know who was going to win. Even those who were thinking of leaving were staying, in order to find out who one. Everybody loved both bands, and couldn't wait to hear the next song.
"Now, as you know, this is the last round," Tre began. "And in this round, their both going to play the same song, one that's by us. They decided on Deadbeat Holiday, and so please, give it up for the first band to start...the Daggers!"
Samantha, Asha, and Demi raced onto the stage and looked out at the crowd. Starting up the song was hard, but once they got into it the crowd went crazy. Samantha began to sweat, and stopped running around the stage. Once the ending chords were played, the crowd screamed their hearts out for High Strung. High Strung came on, but before they entered the stage, Krissy stopped Racha and Jesse.
"You guys..." she said, raising her hands, "They did a great job. We don't seem to have a very good chance, do we?"
Racha's shoulders slumped.
"HAH!" Kris laughed. "FUCK THAT!"
Racha and Jesse snapped to attention.
"Fuck that. Fuck them. Fuck this entire competition. We get to play in front of all these people and they like us. They LIKE us. So fuck the battle of the bands. Play as if their our fans, and as if we're never gonna play again. Play your hearts out. And have fun. Cause I realize you guys are kind of tense...and I am too. But what's the use if we're so nervous we forget to enjoy it?"
Racha pumped a fist into the air.
"She's right! Lets go kick some ass!"
"You guys, lets go!" Jesse called. "Their waiting for us!"
Jesse grabbed the bass and strummed an opening chord. Racha did a test run on the drums. Krissy tapped the microphone and hit a few random notes.
"How are you all feeling out there?" Krissy called, and the crowd screamed, waving their hands in the air.
"Good. Are you ready for Deadbeat Holiday, High Strung style?" Krissy asked with enthusiasm.
"HELL YES!" Was the majority reply.
Kris began leisurely and slowly, making sure all was clear. Then she went off into something that Racha, Jesse, and Nat and her had added earlier when they were bored one day. It was kind of an intro with a bit of spazzing in it. The crowd loved it. Kris kept playing, and finally entered the song. Before the first chorus was another added on guitar riff, with a strange new drum line. The crowd, again, loved it.
Deadbeat Holiday, get on your knees and pray! [/b]
As the song ended, another added on bit was put in. Kris had been running up and down the stage, throwing her guitar, randomly changing places with Jesse, and getting the crowd all riled up. The crowd screamed as they walked off stage, and Racha and Jesse and Krissy all screamed for themselves, along with the hundreds of people waiting for an answer form Billie, Mike, and Tre.
With the guys
"Holy shit, they were both so good. And did you hear what Krissy said to her band before they got on stage? Inspiring. They have so much energy. Jesse, Racha, and Krissy all are like...sugar rush," Tre said.
"And I loved their added music. We should have added that. And hearing some of their songs...they're great! Plus their band name...high Strung...it just suits them so well." Mike added.
"I know...Krissy has a bit of an attitude, but I think that's part of her person. My god I hope this works..."
Billie Joe held up one of those scales that measure the noise of the crowd. He put it out on the stage and held it up, the crowd suddenly knew what to do, and started screaming their heads off.
"Okay you guys, you know what to do." Billie said, pointing to the scale. "Now who votes for the Daggers!"
The crowd screamed, and the scale went to 50.2.
"And who votes for high strung! Make some noise people!" Mike cried.
The crowd cried...the scale went to...
Krissy held her breath. Jesse squeezed Racha's hand. Racha squeaked.
"20.1!" Mike said, a bit disappointedly.
"The winner is...the daggers!"
Tre looked at the scale. He noticed something out of the usual. Two wired were coming out of the back of the scale. A blue one and a red one, touching, like a hot-wired car.
"Hey wait!" Tre cried, the crowd still booing. Racha was almost in tears.
"What Tre?" Billie Joe asked irritably. He was a bit pissed as well.
"This has been tampered with!" he cried. "This is like a hot wired car, only different. I read about it when I was bored on tour once. This has been modified to show a higher number for the lower amount of noise!"
Krissy's face brightened.
"So that means..."
"High Strung is the winner!"
The fans boomed with joyous screams. Samantha shrieked.
"No! That wasn't supposed to happen! Asha, why didn't you hide the wires?"
Billie Joe looked fiercely over at Samantha, Asha, and Demi. Demi was in shock, she didn't know that her friends had done that. She started screaming at them and crying, and telling them how much she hated them. Krissy patted her back and told her it was alright, as much as she hated her sometimes it really is sad when you find out your friends are cocks.
"You two...Samantha and Asha, get out."
Samantha and Asha left, crying because Green Day had dissed them in front of a large crowd of people. Krissy and Racha and Jesse, realizing they had won, jumped up and screamed, and ran up the stage. Krissy tackled Billie Joe to the ground, screaming and jumping and crying all at the same time.
"Jesus!" Billie Joe cried as he was knocked over. He started laughing and hugged Krissy back.
The crowds began to file out, and Green Day said their goodbyes, and left the stage. Demi, Krissy, Jesse, and Racha followed closely behind, crying in joy. Demi was still crying in pain, but she was happy for them.
"Cheers!" Tre said, passing out Pepsi to the under- ages and beer to the legal. They all raised their glasses and chugged.
"I'm so glad it was you guys!" Adie said, hugging Racha and Jesse. Krissy was chatting with Demi.
"So Demi...you can hang out with us if you're pissed that much at Samantha and Asha. Their bitches. Don't worry bout them."
"Alright but...I don't have to like...you know, dress all...you know..."
"Demi, you dress the way you want, act the way you want, and do what you want. Don't change yourself for people." Racha said, slinking down next to her and putting an arm around her.
"Yeah...Iit's gonna be hard to adjust."
"I have a pet cat that just had kittens," Krissy said. "You can come over and see them if that makes you happy?"
"Oh my god! OH MY GOD OH MY GOD! Kittens are sooo cute!" Demi cried. She hugged Krissy.
"So when do we start recording?" Jesse asked.
"Whenever you want, my friend." Mike said.
A year later...
High Strung's first Album, Welcome To the Morgue hit the shelves and sold at least a thousand copies during the first week, because of their music being inspirational to teens their age going through what they had, and how it reached out to them. Green Day continued to make ass-kicking albums, and were working on their AI follow up, with Krissy and Racha and Jesse in stow, helping them along the way.
Dedications in the next album read- [i] To a group of outstanding teens, who helped us back to the teenage years to make inspiration for our new songs. To them we dedicate our friendship, or new album, and of course, our awesome concert with the battle of the bands which was the most lively we've felt since Milton Keynes.
