Everything Isn't Meant To Be Okay, Isn't It?, chapter 1
It was my first day at secondary school. It was an all-girls school, which was totally different from my old school, which was co-ed. I was also an immigrant, so I was totally unused to the situation. I was left alone with no friends.
After spending two days alone, finally this girl came up to me and said," Hi."
I smiled at her. "Hi."
"What's your name?" she asked.
"Kelly. Yours?"
"My name's Mia," she smiled.
I smiled again then we went downstairs for an orientation programme together. We did not talk much. Only she asked where do I come from.
"Indonesia."
"Whoa. Cool."
We sat together at the program. Finally, Mia spoke again.
"Do you listen to music?"
"Yeah."
"What kind? Indonesian music?"
"Nope," I said. I was actually grossed out, cause I hate Indonesian music.
"Chinese then?"
"Nope."
"So... What kind of music you listen to?"
"Green Day..."
"Oh I love Green Day."
"Oh cool."
"Any other bands?" she asked.
"Uh yeah, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan..."
"I like Good Charlotte."
Silence for some moment.
"Do you like Simple Plan?" I asked her.
"Uh, they're okay," she replied.
I bet she hates Simple Plan. Anyway, I finally know someone who likes Green Day. Green Day is my life.
Me and Mia get along quite fast. We started to go on lunchtimes and recess together. Soon enough, after two weeks, we were the best of friends.
Mia seemed to know everybody there. Well, not all, but just some old friends that were from the same primary school as she did.
Mia is a lot prettier than me, and she could play a lot of musical instruments, like piano, guitar, bass, clarinet, trumpet, drums and the list goes on. Sometimes I feel jealous at her, but I know that she's my friend, so I'm not supposed to be jealous.
We soon get a lot of friends. There is Cassandra, who is tall and tan and loves to run. There is also Brenda , a gymnast. There's also Tanya, a thoughtful girl. The five of us usually go together everytime.
After around a month at school, our form teacher, Mrs White was announcing that Mia and Tanya were going to be the coordinator for the class' 'project'. The 'project' was to put up a show.
Mia immediately got an idea. She was thinking about doing a musical. In just a day, she wrote all the songs, which were three songs. I actually felt proud because she let me hear the songs first.
Soon enough, Mia and Tanya were busy doing practices and handling difficulties. Our classmates were not co operative enough, so we had lots of difficulties. Mia often cried after practices. She thought it would be a total failure later on stage.
The main character was a girl called Renee. And there is also this girl called Lorraine who acts as the director.
I always thought that Lorraine was amusing and funny and has the leadership qualities. So, I was pretty happy she took the director job.
Mia though, was very sad during those days. I tried to comfrot her and said that everything would be turning out great. But she just say that we'd just die.
