My Mom and the Blue Eyed Drummer!, chapter 1
Crystal's POV
"I'm home!" my mom yelled as she walked in the door at 2 Am.
"Sorry I've been out so late, I lost track of time" she apologized.
"Its ok, as long as you had a good time," I replied nonchantly.
I knew my mom was in desprate need of a man, she was so depressed afer 4 years if it being just being me and her.
"Anything interesting happen tonight?" I asked, curious.
Angie's POV
"No, not really" I replied lying through my teeth. I had, as a matter of fact, met somebody tonight. He was amazingly funny. We met at a local favorite bar. I noticed he didn't know much about the area, he really didn't know any of the popular local landmarks.
His name seemed a bit odd thouth, Frank. He didn't really look like a Frank to me. But anyway, we talked for hours on end about random things. I don't know why, but he seemed to take an intrest in my playing snare drums in high school. Anyway, after awhile his 2 friends came over, they were intresting, I think they were already drunk. Frank was so busy talking to me that we only had 3 beers the whole night. When I finally looked at the clock, it was 1:30 AM! I told Frank I had a daughter to get home to and he understood. I gave him my number and quickly slipped out the door.
"Well, goodnight Kristie, see you in the morning" I told my daughter.
Crystal's POV
"Night mom!" I called to my mom as I ran up the stairs to my bedroom. I quickly got into my pjs and I brushed my hair and teeth. As a sort of weird ritual, I always say goodnight to all my Green Day posters. My whole room (except a 2 by 2 ft. area I kept for other bands) was dedicated to Green Day. They were my favorite band, it seems like they have a song for every emotion, even the odd ones that aren't named and can't be described. I have a label for each one of the members of Green Day: Tre-funniest guy on the planet, Billie Joe-hottest guy on the planet, and Mike- the best bass player on the planet and my idol. I play bass guitar, I wish I could play half as good as Mike.
I finally crawled into bed, still wondering about my mom's night. Something was up, I could tell...
Tre's (Frank's) POV
"Billie, Mike, I'm home!" I called out when I got to our hotel room.
"Shhh!" Bilie hastily came to the door to quiet me down.
"Adie, Jakob, and Joey are asleep," Billie informed me while I took off my jacket and sat on the couch.
"Well, what went on?" BJ asked in an excited whisper.
"Oh, not much," I said, "I just met an amazing woman."
"Oooh, really? What was she like?" Billie asked like a little kid in a museum.
"Well, she played snare in the high school band. Her name is Angelina, she's 34, and she has a 14 year old daughter named Crystal. She was married, but she got a divorce when Crystal was 2. The dad really isn't a part of Crystal's life. Anyway, Angie is amazing, she's unlike any other woman I've ever emet. Oh, [i] and[i] I got her number, see?" I said as I pulled the napkin out of my pocket and showed Billie Joe.
"Cool, sounds like you had a really good time tonight, That means you gotta got to sleep, now go to bed!" Billie Joe demanded while pointing to my bed.
"But daddy, do I have to?" I begged in a whiney voice like a little kid. BJ just threw a pillow at me and left me to get ready for bed. As I was trying to fall asleep I couldn't get my mind off Angie. For some reason she seemed like she should already have a man...
Crystal's POV
BUZZZZZ..my alarm went off, 5:00 AM. Back to the same ol' boaring routine. I absolutely hate[b] Monday mornings. I hate Mondays period. They seemed to last forever. Back to school. Back to the same stupid drama. Back to the same monotone teachers babbaling on and on about nothing.
I finally got my lazy self out of bed and into the shower. After my shower I picked out a randon outfit. It was kinda dressy, white shirt, black tie, black pleated skirt, maroon tights, and comfortable dress shoes. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a prep, I can pull off this outfit with some black eyeliner, my Green Day wristband and dogtag, red nail polish, and a glare that could kill. Anyway, I went down for breakfast and as usual, my mom wasn't up yet. Oh well, I only had 10 minutes to grab some pop-tarts and my stuff for school and catch the bus. I got to school and things went on as usual, little did I know...
[b]Angie's POV
Ring, ring, ring. Darn, the phone.
"Hello?" I said sleepily with my eyes still shut.
"Hi, is Angie there?" Frank asked.
"Yes, this is her," I responded excitedly.
This had definatly gotten my attention.
"Hey, this is Frank, from the bar last night," Frank said hopefully.
"Oh, hey Frank, whats up?" I asked, trying to contain my excitement. Usually after I tell guys I meet that I have a daughter, they never bother with me.
"Nothin' much. I was just curious, seeing as I don't have any plans and maybe if you don't have any plans maybe we could meet for breakfast or something?" Frank Suggested, kinda nervous.
"That sounds excellent! I know this awesome diner we can go to," I said, then I gave him directions to my house.
Tre's POV
"Hey Mike, tell BJ I'm going to breakfast please?" I asked while getting my jacket on and hunting for my car keys.
"Why are you going out, you know Adie makes an awesome breakfast," Mike asked, suprised.
"Well, I'm having breakfast with this woman I met at the bar last night. When I get home I'll tell you all about her, ok?" I responded while I found my keys and I was half-way out the door.
"OK, I'll tell him" Mike promised. I left and hopped in my red Voltswagon Beetle.
"I'm home!" my mom yelled as she walked in the door at 2 Am.
