My Mom and the Blue Eyed Drummer!, chapter 2

Angie's POV
As soon as I got off the phone with Frank I hopped in the shower. 'I can't believe I'm going out this early' I thought to myself. Oh well, I could use the change. This morning after my shower I actually put on make-up, something I hadn't done in months. For some reason, I wasn't really doing all this consciously, honestly I wasn't even thinking, I was just letting my body control itself. After a half hour I was finally ready to go. Good thing cause just as I was coming down the stairs the doorbell rang.

Tre's POV
"Hey Angie" I said nervously as Angie came to the door.
"Hey Frank!" Angie said, kind of excited. "Oh, come in" she offered while moving out of the way.
"Wow, nice place you have here" I complimented.
"Yeah, it may be small, but we like it" Angie replied.
"So where are we going for breakfast?" I asked nonchalantly,
"Oh, its this awesome little diner called Starlite. I'll give you directions o the way," she offered. She grabbed her jacket which, in being the gentleman I am, I helped her get on, and we got in my car and left.

Angie's POV
"Nice volts wagon. I used to have one, but we got in a crash and totaled it," I commented, trying to make conversation.
"Yeah, I love small cars, I have no clue why. Its just one of my perks I guess," Frank laughed. Once we got to the diner we ordered immediately. The waitress brought our coffee and Frank and I thanked her. "Wow, this is the best service I've had at a restaurant in quite awhile" Frank informed me.
"Yeah, this place is like a well kept secret around here" I said matter-of-factly. "So Frank, what do you do for a living?" I asked, still trying to get to know him.
"Oh, well, first off my name is Tre. I just use Frank at the bar, it's my birth-name. And second, I'm in a band," Tre informed me.
"I don't mean to be rude, but what kind of a name is Tre?" I asked curiously.
"Oh, my full name is Tre Cool, 'Tre' means 'very' in French," Tre said smartly.
"How original, naming yourself 'very cool' in French. I like it," I laughed.
"Yeah, I wanted something out-of-the-ordinary," Tre, stated while laughing also.
"So, what's your band called?" I quizzed.
"Oh, its a simple band. Nothing much really. Its called Green Day. The guys you met last night were my band members," Tre told me. For some reason the name sounded very familiar. 'Oh well' I thought.

Tre's POV
"Hey, look, our food is here," I said to Angie as the waitress came with a platter full of our food. After we got done eating it was 10:00 AM. "Well, what do you have going on for the rest of the day?" I asked hopefully.
"Oh not much. Grocery shopping and other running around," Angie told me.
"Oh, um, let me go pay for this, I'll be right back" I said, kind of disappointed.
"Oh, no, I've got mine," Angie said while digging through her purse.
"No, I insist, my treat," I told her while giving her a puppy dogface.
"Well, ok, I suppose," Angie sighed. I paid for our food and we left. On the way back to her house there was an awkward silence in the car. I liked her, but did she like me? As we pulled into her driveway, I shut off the car, got out, and opened her door for her. We walked to her front door and she started to fumble with her keys.
"I had another good time today" I said nervously.

Angie's POV
"Yeah, me too," I replied. I knew Tre was looking at me, so I couldn't help but look up. My hazel brown eyes met his deep blue eyes. His sparkled like diamonds. Tre leaned in to kiss me, and I let him. Little did I know how Tre Cool kissed. But honestly, I enjoyed it. It felt so good to know somebody wanted me. When we were finally done, I gave a shy smile and looked down, embarrassed of what I had just done.
"Oh my gosh, I am so sorry," Tre apologized, ashamed of what he had just done too. "I totally didn't think, I-"
"Shhh, its ok," I cut him off, "I quite enjoyed it," I told him, looking him in the eye. Tre nodded and didn't say anything. I smiled, winked, and went inside, leaving Tre to ponder with what had just happened. 'Oh my gosh' I thought,' I'm acting like a teenager again.' But, for some reason, it felt so right, Tre felt so perfect.

Tre's POV
'Wow' I thought, 'she's absolutely amazing. I can't believe she was ok with me kissing her like that. I can't believe myself, kissing her like that. Well, at least she liked it' and honestly, I did too. As I pulled out of Angie's driveway, my phone rang. "Hello?" I answered.
"Hey Tre, where are you?" Billie asked me.
"Oh, hey BJ. I'm coming from Angie's house, why?" I asked, curious.
"Oh, we were just worried, that's all. You've been out for almost 2 hours now," Billie said, kind of concerned.
"Oh, I'm fine, everything's ok. I'll be back at the hotel shortly, I only have 1 stop to make before that," I told Billie.
"Ok, see you in a little bit Tre, bye" Billie Joe said as he hung up.
"Ok, now to find what I'm looking for," I thought out loud. Ahh, here it is, I knew I passed it on the way to Angie's. I pulled into the parking lot of the flower shop and parked. I went in, found a beautiful bouquet of spring flowers and requested that they be sent to Angie around dinnertime tonight. I paid the cashier and left. I got in my car; I couldn't stop thinking about Angie...

Angie's POV
"Hi, is Cheryl there?" I asked for my best friend.
"Yeah, let me go get her" her daughter replied.
"Hello?" Cheryl asked, sort of confused.
"Hey Cheryl, its me, Angie. You would not believe what's going on!" I told her excitedly. I sat there and spilled the whole story about Tre to her.
"Wow, you've done good!" Cheryl complimented me.
"Thanks, no more jerks for me!" I said like I was quitting smoking or something.
"Yeah, well, Angie, I got to go, Sarah needs help. Talk to you later. Bye!" Cheryl hung up. I hung up the phone and left to go do my running around. When I got back, it was 2:00. For some odd reason I just went up in my room and collapsed on my bed, falling asleep almost immediately, while, of course, thinking of Tre.

Crystal's POV
"Mom, I'm home!" I yelled when I walked in the door. "Mom?" I walked in the kitchen. Where was she? I went to her room, to find her on her bed. 'I'll let her sleep, she must have gotten up early' I thought. I was lucky enough to escape school without any homework, so I started playing my bass. I wasn't really good, I had only had a few lessons and with school, it was kind of hard to practice. As soon as I stopped playing, the phone rang. "Hello?" I asked, not recognizing the phone number on the caller id.

"Hi, is Angie there?" the guy on the other end (Tre, little did I know) asked.
"She's preoccupied at the moment, may I take a message?" I asked politely.
"Yes, please. Just tell her Frank called"
"Ok, bye" I hung up. Frank" Who on earth is Frank? I wondered. Ah, well, I thought as I went back to playing my bass.

Tre's POV
'Hmm, wonder what Angie's doing? Oh well, I've got to concentrate on what Billie's saying" I thought. We (Billie, Mike, and I) were trying to think of ideas for a new album, so far, nothing was really working. All of us were out of ideas. I mean, come on, Billie Joe had a wife and 2 kids, I had 2 ex-wives and 2 kids, Mike had an ex-wife and a kid, and we were all 33 and 34 years old. I had brought this subject up and it got everyone thinking. To lighten the mood, I started playing a random beat. Mike and Billie thought for a minute and Mike started playing a really good bass line. Billie Joe listened some more and started playing along. We all looked at each other and smiled. This was more like it; this was just like old times. After a few minutes, we all stopped.
"That was great!" Billie told us. "Now all we have to do is come up with some good lyrics."
"Hey, BJ, leave that up to me, ok?" I asked him.
"Sure Tre, whatever. Do you already have an idea of what you want to write about?" Billie quizzed.
"Yeah, I have an inclination..."

Angie's POV
"Oh crap!" I said as I looked over at the clock, it read 6:30 PM. I got up and smelled food cooking.
"Mom, dinners ready!" I heard Crystal yell up the stairs.
"Ok, I'll be right down honey," I replied. I fixed myself and went downstairs and into the kitchen. "Smells good honey, what is it?" I asked sheepishly.
"Lemon chicken, just the way you like it. How was your nap?"
"Oh, it felt great. Man, working 3rd shift for the past few weeks is going to kill me, I swear. Good thing Carrie's vacation is up in a week. I can't wait to get back in my regular routine," I said while sitting down to the dinner table that was already set.
"Oh, dinners done" Kristie said while looking at the clock on the microwave. She got dinner out of the oven and set it on the table.

Crystal's POV
"Dig in!" I said while handing my mom a fork and spoon for the chicken and rice.
"Mmm. Crystal, wow, amazing as usual. You know, I don't know what I would do without you" my mom complimented me.
"Oh, no problem mom. You've got a lot going on with work and stuff. I really don't have a life, so honestly, I have nothing better to do," I laughed as my mom grinned and started to giggle.

<b?Tre's POV[/b]
I got started on my lyrics right away. This wasn't going to be like any other song I've written, as you can guess, it was going to be about Angie. I was thinking and brainstorming ideas when Mike interrupted my thoughts.
"Hey, what's up?" Mike asked while sitting on my bed beside me.
"Oh, nothing much, just trying to think of some good lyrics that's all," I said, coming back to earth.
"Let me guess, they're going to be about Angie?" Mike said sarcastically.
"Hey, how do you know about Angie?" I asked a little too harshly.
"BJ told me what you told him last night. Glad to know I'm the one always left in the dark about these things," Mike said to me expectantly.
"Sorry, but I can't get her off my mind. I mean, she's almost perfect, so why doesn't she have a guy? What could possibly be wrong with her?" I thought aloud.
"I don't know. Billie said she had a daughter, have you met her?" Mike asked, trying to slightly change the subject.
"No, I want to be around Angie a little more before I meet her daughter," I responded smartly.
"Good choice. Know this though, if the daughter disapproves, it won't be good," Mike warned me.
'Wow, I never even thought of that. What if Crystal does hate me? What if she feels as if I'm taking her mother away? What if she's heard stories of how awful a divorced mother's boyfriends and husbands can be? What if she thinks that about me?' all these questions popped in my head. Great. Now that's all I could think about.
