My Mom and the Blue Eyed Drummer!, chapter 3

1 month later:

Crystal's POV
"Finally, I get to meet the guy you've been seeing," I said sarcastically. I was kind of excited, my mom never seemed happier. She had a completely different attitude and outlook on life. For once in a long time, I think she finally had hope.
"OK. Now Crystal, please don't make a fool of either one of us tonight. We're going out to eat, so get dressed, now hurry along" my mom urged me. I went up to my bedroom and picked out a nice dressy outfit. This outfit did make me look preppy, but it satisfied my mom, so I didn't object. It was a black pleated skirt and a shirt that was black and long sleeved, but the collar, cuffs, and bottom of the shirt had a different white and pink striped material, giving the effect I had on 2 shirts.
"And Crystal, NO EYE LINER!" my mom called up the stairs. Darn! Oh, well, fine, whatever makes her happy. I went into my bathroom and got ready, including the hour and a half it took to straighten my hair. When I was finally done, I gave myself one last look-over in the mirror, grabbed my purse, and went downstairs. My mom was still getting ready so I put in my Bullet in a Bible CD into the CD player and started to dance, very horribly I might add. Just as my mom came out of her room, the doorbell rang. We were both very nervous as she opened the door.

Tre's POV
"Hey Angie," I said nervously. I knew this was going to be kind of awkward, this was my first time meeting Crystal.
"Crystal, go turn off the CD player, we have a guest," Angie told Crystal.
"Aww. Ok," she replied. 'Oh no' I thought. I had heard what was playing, it was Bullet in a Bible. I was sort of hoping Crystal wasn't a Green Day fan. 'This is going to be interesting' I thought.
"Come in," Angie offered. I was prepared for anything when Crystal turned around.

Crystal's POV
I put my CD back in its case and I put it away. When I turned around, I about had a heart attack! I was speechless, Tre Cool was standing in front of me! The drummer of my favorite band was in my living room, and he was dating my mom! "Hi, I'm Crystal" I said in the coolest voice possible while offering my hand.
"Hi Crystal, I'm Tre Cool" Tre said as he shook my hand.

Angie's POV
I sensed something between my daughter and my boyfriend. There was an awkward silence and I couldn't take it anymore, so I chimed in with "Well, are we ready to go guys?"
"Oh, yeah, lets take your car Angie" Tre suggested.
"Ok, thats fine with me" I said as I followed Tre out the door with Crystal behind me. We all piled into the car, Tre driving, me in the passenger seat, and Crystal in the middle of the back seat.

Tre's POV
It wasn't long before we got to the restaurant I had made reservations for. I parked the car and to make a good impression on Crystal, I opened her door for her.
"Thank you" she said very politely and ladylike. I looked over and noticed Angie smiling. We went in and got our table. We looked at a menu and ordered right away. I needed to use the men's room so I politely excused myself, leaving Angie and Crystal alone.

Crystal's POV
As soon as I was sure Tre was out of earshot I turned to my mom. "Mom! You didn't tell my he was the drummer for Green Day!" I whisper-yelled.
"I didn't think it was important. He told me his band was simple. How do you know about it?" my mom asked curiously.
"Mom, have you seen my CD collection and bedroom walls lately? I'm obsessed with Green Day!" I responded.
"Oh, thats how I recognized the name" my mom thought out loud.
"Ok, well, I'll keep a cool head alright? I can contain myself" I said dignified.
"Shh, here he comes" my mom warned me.

Angie's POV
'Wow, how could I have been so dense? ' I thought. Anyway, Tre was back and he was mow trying to make conversation with Kristie.

Tre's POV
"So, Crystal, anything exciting going on lately?" I asked. 'Wow, how lame was that' I thought.
"No, not really. Just solo and ensemble for band," she replied.
"Really, what instrument do you play?" I asked, truly interested.
"Oh, flute. I also know a little bit on my bass guitar" Crystal informed me.
"Wow, impressive" I said with a very interesting facial expression.
"Not as impressive as playing 7 instruments," Crystal laughed. "Oh, by the way you can call me Kristie, or even Kriss if you like" she offered.
"Ok, Kristie" I emphasize. Things went well during dinner. After awhile, it wasn't awkward anymore. Its as if I was never famous, I was loving it!

Angie's POV
"Hey mom," Kristie whispered in my ear, "I gotta use the ladies room, I'll be back," she got up and left.
"Well, what do you think of Crystal?" I asked Tre, kind of concerned of the answer I'd get.
"She's awesome! Even though she knows who I am, she keeps a cool head, I like that. She's very understanding and kind. I really like her. I was kinda afraid she wouldn't like me, but I'm really glad she does. Oh, here she comes" Tre warned me. I couldn't help but be satisfied.

Crystal's POV
"What?" I asked mom and Tre as I sat down, noticing their grins.
"Nothing, jeeze. Just come in here accusing us..." Tre said sarcastically.
"Gosh, didn't know you were so touchy" I said, sarcastically taken back.
"Ok guys, our food is here" my mom settled us down. The waitress gave us our food and left. I started separating my food and my mom yelled at me for it.
"Chill Angie. Its nothing to get worked up about. But this is," Tre said as he started chewing his food like a cow. I started laughing, causing Tre to choke and laugh too. Finally my mom couldn't take keeping a straight face and she started to giggle. Now this was the Tre I was used to hearing.
We finished our meal, paid and exited the building. I was just about to get in the back seat when Tre stopped me with "What d'ya think you're doin'?"
"I'm getting in the car," I said innocently.
"Hey, you're ridin' shotgun, I said so" Tre said while looking over at my mom. She gave a nod of approval.
"Ok," she replied cooly.

Tre's POV
I wanted to get to know Kristie better, so I made her ride shotgun. "So, Kristie, did you enjoy your meal?" I asked, while looking over at her.
"Yes, I did. Thank you," she replied very politely.
"Your welcome. A nice girl like you deserves it," I complimented while smiling at her.
"Nice? Oh, you mean the impression I gave tonight. No, this is rare.
Usually I'm a little more, not rude, but not as articulate and 'goodie-
Goodie'" she replied with a smile. I chuckled and tried to concentrate
On the road.
"Ok, my turn" Crystal said. "You don't seem to goof off as much in person as you appear to in photos and videos and stuff," she stated.
"Well, I'm sorta in the same situation as you are, I'm trying to give a
Good 1st impression," I said cooly. After a few minutes an idea came to me.
"Hey Kristie, maybe if its ok with your mom, you and I can hang out tomorrow, you know, just the two of us being ourselves, for real" I suggested while trying to look back at Angie.
Angie piped in with "Its ok with me, if Crystal wants to go" she said, being a good mother and not forcing Crystal into anything.

Crystal's POV
"Um, sure, that sounds great!" I said excitedly. "What are we going to do?" I asked, extremely curious.
"Oh, I don't know, whatever you want," he smiled.
"I'll think about it" I said as we pulled up to our driveway. Tre opened
The door for my mom and I got out. My mom opened the door to the house and
Let us inside.

Angie's POV
"Crystal, please go get ready for bed" I politely asked my daughter.
"Oh, ok mom" she whined as she went up the stairs.
"Hey Tre, thanks for tonight, especially including Kristie like you did. You don't know how much I appreciate that," I told Tre as I looked him in the eye.
"Don't worry Angie, I absolutely adore Crystal, she's so cool, she's Tre cool" he laughed.
"Good, I'm glad you both like each other" I told him.

Tre's POV
I looked Angie in the eye and couldn't help but gently kiss her. I thought I heard a noise by the stairs so I quickly looked, but nothing was there...

Crystal's POV
I couldn't help but watch my mom and Tre, they seemed so perfect together.
When I saw them look into each other's eyes and kiss, I went out of sight and grinned, very satisfied. I was so happy for my mom. I crawled into bed, shortly after that my mom came in.

Angie's POV
"Night sweetie," I went and sat on Kristie's bed.
"Night mom," she answered.
"Hey Kristie, thanks for tonight, you have no clue how much it meant to me. I'm really glad you like Tre, and its not because he's in Green Day, is it?" I asked, worried about her answer.
"No, he's an awesome guy for you mom," she replied honestly and truthfully.
"Thanks Kristie, night, love you" I said while closing her door.

Tre's POV
As I drove home, I was pondering what to do with Crystal tomorrow. Honestly, I really wanted to get to know her. And not to get to her mom, but Crystal seemed like she could be really cool to hang out with and talk to. I fell asleep thinking about Angie and Crystal, and how awesome they both were, in their own way, of course.
