A loss, Then A Gain. (A Billie Joe story), chapter 14
"Dude, where the crap are we?" asked Tre.
They had gone inside the house, and were now walking through a series of long hallways, with signs telling them which way Billie was.
"AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
"What was that!?" asked Mike.
"Billie!" said Victoria.
She started running towards a light at the end of the hallway. Mike and Tre followed her.
"Holy fuck-shit." she whispered.
Mike and Tre came up behind her.
They both gasped at the same time.
Billie was chained to a wall, and David (Victoria's dad) was standing over him, clutching a whip. Billie's arms were covered in bruises. David had just whiped him, and he was bleeding badly.
"Billie!" screamed Victoria.
She ran over to him. David tried to whip him again, but Victoria jumped in front of him.
"Victoria......you're here....." moaned Billie, who was starting to fall unconcious.
"Get out of the way, Victoria." said David, ready to whip Billie.
"Hell no." said Victoria, sheilding Billie with herself.
"That's it!" shouted David.
He dived for them.
"Over my dead body!" said Mike.
He ran and tackled David to the ground. Tre ran and helped Mike. They started beating David up, which brought a smile to Victoria's face. She turned to Billie.
"You okay?" she asked.
"Beaten an' bruised, but still alive." said Billie.
Victoria smiled.
"Tre! What the fuck did you do?" asked Mike.
Billie and Victoria looked up.
"I think I killed him..." said Tre, looking at David lying in the floor.
"I owe you one, Tre." said Victoria.
"Let's get outta here..." said Mike.
Billie tried stood up, he walked a few steps, then started to fall over. Victoria caught him.
"He's passed out." said Victoria.
"Dude, look at his back." said Tre.
There was a huge gash on Billie's back.
"We gotta get him to a hospital!" said Mike.
They ran outside, with Tre and Victoria carrying Billie.
"We need a car." said Tre.
Mike ran and broke into an SUV. He started the engine and drove over to them.
"Get in!" he shouted.
Tre got in the back, while Victoria got in the middle with Billie. Mike started driving, and Victoria got on his laptop to find the nearest hospital.
"46 miles!" she said.
Mike floored it.
"Somebody's following us!" said Tre.
"Who!?" asked Mike.
"Jenni!" said Tre.
And he was right. Jenni was close behind them, with an angry look on her face.
"Victoria, you'd better take care of Billie Joe. With Jenni following us, we won't be at a hospital soon." said Mike.
Victoria nodded.
"She's gaining speed!" said Tre, looking out the back window.
Mike drove faster. Then Billie woke up. Victoria explained the current situation to him.
"Ow...my back really hurts..." said Billie.
"Dude, there's a huge gash in it." said Victoria.
Billie took his shirt off to examine his wound.
"Ouch!" he said.
"Here," said Tre, handing Billie his jacket.
Billie tied it around his back to the stop the bleeding.
"Thanks." he said.
"Guys! She's gone!" said Tre.
"Good, 'cause this car's outta gas." said Mike.
It was. The car started going slower, then finally quit moving.
"I guess we'll have to walk." said Tre.
They got out and started walking.
*Back In California*
Adie was at the hospital, with her boyfriend, Charles.
A doctor came in.
"Ms. Armstrong?" he asked.
"Yes?"
"We're ready to take you in know."
Adie kissed Charles, then the doctors wheeled her into the delivery room.
Yeah, 9 months went fast.
*With Billie, Mike, Victoria & Tre*
Billie fell over, he had fainted from a heat stroke.
"Billie!" said Victoria.
She sat down next to him.
"How hot is it?" asked Mike.
Tre checked his watch.
"94 degrees." he panted.
"How far is it to the hospital?" asked Victoria, know holding Billie in her arms.
"My laptop got ruined by the heat. I have no clue where we are." said Mike.
Tre looked out on the horizon. He saw a speck that was the hospital.
"Guys. I see it. On the horizon." he told them.
"Ok, Tre. Go the hospital. Get an ambulence to come here. Call me on your cell phone when you get there." said Mike.
Tre nodded. He stood up and ran as fast as he could.
"He's our only hope." said Victoria,
Mike fell over. He had also fainted. Victoria looked over at Billie. His breathing had become very slow, almost like he didn't breathe at all.
"Please don't go, Billie. Please don't go." Victoria cried, tears running down her cheeks.
She held his hand and wouldn't let go. In a few minutes, she fainted too, still holding Billie's hand.
*A week later*
Victoria woke up. She was in a hospital bed. Mike and Tre were standing over her.
"Mike? Tre? What happened?" she asked.
"Vicki, you've been in a coma for a week. When we fainted out there on that road, you haven't woken up since." said Mike.
"Where's Billie?" asked Victoria, sitting up.
Mike sat down next to her on the bed.
"Billie's in a coma. He's down the hall, in the next room." said Mike.
"Oh god." said Victoria, starting to cry.
She hugged Mike. Mike hugged her back. He also started to cry. Tre rolled his eyes.
"When can I see him?" asked Victoria.
"Right now." said Mike.
Victoria got up. She was surprised to find herself in regualar clothes, and not a hospital gown.
Mike and Tre lead her to Billie's room.
"Oh god." wispered Victoria.
Billie was lying in a bed, totally unconcious. He looked different without his eye-liner, and with scars on his arms. Victoria walked over and sat down next to him.
"Billie..." she wispered.
"We'll give you a few minutes alone with him." said Mike.
Tre and him stepped out in the hallway.
"I'm so glad to see you, Billie." said Victoria.
She kissed him on the lips.
"Please wake up....please wake up...." she wispered as she held his hand.
Billie Joe reamined unconcious.
"I love you Billie Joe." said Victoria.
She kissed him again. Then, wipeing the tears from her eyes, she left.
"Are we still in Oregon?" she asked Mike and Tre.
"Nah, we were flown here in a helicopter." said Tre.
"Am I allowed to leave for like, an hour?" Victoria asked.
"Oh sure." said Mike.
"See you guys later." said Victoria.
She walked by them.
Mike and Tre went to the cafeteria to get some coffee.
*Later that day*
Victoria came back. She went to Billie's room. She found Mike and Tre waiting for her.
"How is he?" she asked, sitting down next to Billie.
"We're trying to get him to wake up." said Mike.
"I'm going to try something." said Victoria.
She started to sing "She".
Billie suddenly stirred. He opened his eyes.
"He's awake!" said Tre.
"Victoria?" Billie asked.
Victoria nodded through her tears of joy.
"What the fuck happened?" he asked.
Victoria explained it all.
"Guys, could we have a few minutes alone?" asked Victoria.
Mike & Tre nodded, then went out into the hall.
"God, I've missed you." said Billie.
"I have too." said Victoria.
Billie pulled her close, they started kissing, then making out.
Victoria took her jacket off.
"Whoa, Victoria, what's that?" asked Billie, pointing to her arm.
"Their tattoos." said Victoria.
She showed her arms to Billie.
On her right arm was a heart, with the words "Billie Joe" written inside it. On her left arm was a tattoo similar to Billie's, a strip of photos. But instead of Adrienne on them, pictures of Billie were on them.
"Oh my god." said Billie.
Victoria smiled at him.
Mike and Tre came in.
"Adie and the kids are here!" said Tre.
Joey and Jakob came running in.
"Hi daddy!" said Jakob, hugging Billie.
Joey hugged him too.
Then Adrienne came in, carrying something.
"Meet our new sibling!" Joey and Jakob said in unison.
"Adie..." said Billie.
Adrienne sat down next to Billie. Victoria stood up and walked over with Mike and Tre.
"Is a boy or girl?" asked Billie.
"She's a girl." said Adie.
Billie looked at her. She was a spitting image of her mother.
"What's her name?" he asked.
"Elizabeth Caitlin Sandlemeier." said Adie.
Billie nodded.
"Joey, Jakob, we'd better get going." said Adie.
The boys smiled at Billie, then followed Adie out of the room. Adie came back though, without the baby or the boys.
"So how have you been?" she asked.
"Pretty much okay." said Billie.
Adie glanced over at Victoria. She noticed the tattoos.
"Victoria....are those tattoos?" she asked.
Victoria nodded. She showed them to Adie.
"I didn't know that you two were engaged." said Adie.
"We aren't." said Billie.
Victoria nodded.
"Well, I will see you all again sometime." said Adrienne.
She gave a little wave at Billie, then left.
*A few hours later*
Mike, Victoria, Billie & Tre were all eating dinner in Billie's room, watching tv. A news report about Billie came on. It also mentioned that Billie was rumored to have a relationship going on.
"Does Billie Joe have a girlfriend?" the news reporter asked.
"Damn right he does!" said Victoria.
Mike and Tre laughed. Billie grinned.
"And there will now be riots from teenies arcross the nation." said Tre.
"Yeah." said Mike.
*Later that night*
They all went back to Tre's house.
Tre went up to his room, and Victoria and Billie went to theirs. Mike stayed downstairs, watching tv.
"BEEP"
Mike's coffee was ready.
He got up to get it, then came back. After he sat down, he felt a pain in his side. The spot where he had surgery. He pulled his shirt up and looked. The scar was all red and puffy. Mike ignored the pain and went back to watching tv.
*With Tre*
Tre was lying on his bed, flipping through playboy magizines. He was watching his favorite tv show, Family Guy.
*With Billie and Victoria*
