Let Me Kiss You One More Time, chapter 10

"Ugh, Come on mom," Ayleen whined crossing her arms over her chest.

"Ayleen, I said no," I sighed rubbing my forehead with my main and index fingers.

"Moom, when you were 12 you probably went to movies with guys," Ayleen protested trying to let me let her go.

"True, but that was what? 1979? Or something like that. This is the year 2006," I said putting my hands on the table.

"Fine, whatever," Ayleen said grunting and stomping her way up the stairs to her room.

I sighed once more and decided to go to my bedroom. Opening my door and closing it once I was on I bent down and reached under the bed. I moved my arm until my hand could feel something. Something bumped to side of my hand. I felt around it. Box size. Bingo. I pulled it out and dusted it off.

"Rachel's Memory box;
Don't not open. Private.

I Wanna Be Your Dominated Love Slave

I laughed softly. "Tre," I said to myself. I carefully opened the box lid and rummaged around fixing my eyes on many photos and patches. I grabbed a photo that made me smile and laugh. It was a photo of the whole group. Mike making a goofy face, Adrienne and Billie laughing, Tre goofing off and me smiling.

"God, I miss those days," I said softly.

As I was about to close the box, a piece of paper caught my eye. Curious I grabbed it and looked at the messy writing.

Rachel,
I love you. I always will. You the sunlight in my world the love of my life.
I don't know what I would to without you. Every time I hug you or kiss you, I feel safe and secure.
I hope that we never leave each other, that we will get married one day and have a family.
I will teach Ayleen to be an awesome bassist. I will love her and you and will always be there.

Love,
Mike

Tears streamed down my face, one landing on the paper. Sadly he was gone. Sweet Children re-named themselves to Green Day. Once Green Day brought out Dookie they became big. Now that they have American Idiot. They became huge. About the area when Dookie had came out, me and Mike had gone our separate ways. Mike on the road constantly and me trying to help Ayleen grow up good and get a nice house. Then we never talked to each other again. I don't really know what happened there. We have our own lives now. I miss him to death though, but i have to live that he probably has his own girlfriend--or probably even wife

"Mom?" Ayleen asked poking her head in the door and noticing me tear stained.
"Mom?" Ayleen said now curious.

I wiped away the tears and put the note away.

"Mom, what's wrong?" Ayleen asked coming beside me and sitting on her knees.

"Nothing," I sighed putting on a fake smile. Of course as smart as Ayleen was she didn't fall for it.

She noticed a photo that had caught her eye. It was her and all of us.

She was on Billie's lap and Tre was beside Billie hugging her. Adrienne was smiling with her head on Billie's shoulder, and me and mike were behind standing hugging.

"I...I know them," She said tears gently flowing down her cheeks.

I nodded and smiled.

Ayleen traced the outline of them with her fingers.

"I want to see them again," She said in a whisper. I didn't try to stop her.

Since we lived in Oakland I guess it wouldn't be that hard.

"Be careful," I said hugging her.

Ayleen grabbed some clothes and her cell, stole her moms' old phone book and headed off to meet her long lost 'Uncles'.

* * * *

"Phew, Guys that was great!" Billie said smiling proudly.

"Good job," Tre yelled raising his water bottle in the air.

"Good job," Mike said grinng wrapping his arm around Brittney Cade.

"Great concert guys. You rocked the stadium," Adrienne said coming in and kissing Billie.

Billie winked at her and chugged a bottle of water.

"Daddy, Daddy!" Joey said coming in yelling with Jakob behind him.

"Joey, Joey!" Billie mimicked.

He scooped them both up and swung them around.

Brittney giggled at the site, receiving a kiss on the head.

"Let's all go to the nearest restaurant," Adrienne said and told the bus drive to go.

* * * *

"I'm hungry," Ayleen said to herself walking on the street. She walked into ABC restaurant and got herself a table. After she ordered a coke she heard the door swing open and people talking, laughing, and shushing.

The big group got a table and all ordered some drinks. Ayleen fiddled with her cell phone and took out the photo of her and the whole group. She sighed putting it down and wishing she was a kid again. Re-living the good 'ol days.

One guy from the group kept looking at her and finally came over. "Hey there," He said winking.

"Um hi," She said awkwardly.

"What may be your name?" He asked not taking off his glasses.

"Ayleen," She said trying to see through his glasses.

"That sounds familiar," He said not smiling anymore and trying to make out her facial looks.

He took off his glasses and she studied his face. It kicked in. She found one. Bingo.

"Frank," Ayleen whispered shocked.

"Ayleen," Tre said smiling widely.

"UNCLE TRE!" Ayleen said overjoyed and stood up hugging him, she felt herself getting lifted up from the ground and getting spun around.

The big group all turned to Ayleen and Tre with confused looks on their faces. Few whispered were heard. Ayleen caught Billie's eye contacted and he grinned at her. She blushed and smiled as a return. He got up from his seat and walked over looking at ayleen seeing on how much she has grown. Now black hair with purple streaks. But still has her blue eyes. He scooped her up in a tight bear hug.

"Ayleen," He whispered in her ear.

"Uncle Billie," She whispered back smiling. Next was Adrienne who had walked over with her dreads up in a pony tail, a jacket jeans and runners.

"Ayleen, hunnie!" She said excited and pulled her into a warm hug.

"Auntie Adie," Ayleen smiled feeling comforted in the warm hug.

Mike came last. He walked over to her and it was quiet. She didn't know what to say to him. Instead she pulled him into a tight guy. He tensed up but then sunk into the hug. He wrapped his arms around her.

Mike shook his head laughing and finishing off the rest of the coffee picking up Ayleen and tickling her.

"Miiiike!" Ayleen said giggling. "S-stop D-Dad!" she said gasping for air.

Mike stopped tickling and everyone turned to face Ayleen. Ayleen had a confused face on her look then clued into what she had said.

"I-I..." Ayleen stuttered, then just hugged mike. Mike stiffened into the hug, and then warmed into the hug, hugging her back.

"Aww..." I softly cooed.

They stayed in the hug for at least 10 minutes, until Ayleen broke the silence.

"I better go, my mom will be worried," Ayleen said pulling away from the hug and looking up at the tall tattooed arms bassist.

"Wait....Rachel?" Tre asked trying to remember me.

"Yea Rachel..." Ayleen sighed.

"How is she doing?" Billie and Adrienne asked.

"Pretty good," Ayleen said gathering up her gear.

"Hey wait, hand over your cell," Billie said. She handed over her cell and watched him press various numbers.

"Those are all our numbers, call us anytime," Billie said smiling, and giving back her cell.

"Thank-you," Ayleen said and walking out the door.

* * * *

I heard the door open and then slam shut. I sat on the couch with a bowl of ice-cream.

"Hey," I heard a girl say. I tilted my head to the side and saw my daughter Ayleen with a grin plastered on her face.

I grinned back knowing that she must have bumped into them.

"Hey," I said back patting the seat beside me. She sat down and pulled out her cell phone. She handed it to me.

I turned and faced her cross legged and looked confused.

"Huh?" I questioned.

"Look in the phonebook," She said. I nodded clicking into menu and contact list. I smiled at all the names.

"Billie;
555-4456
Adrienne;
555-2113
Mike;
555-0092
Tre;
555-2355"

I handed the cell back to her and shook my head.

"I could never see then again," I thought to myself.

* * * *

"Babe, what's wrong?" Brittney asked mike placing her head on his chest.

"Nothing," Mike said smiling down at her and kissing her on the lips.

She nodded and closed her eyes falling her asleep.

"How could you lie? You idiot. 'Nothing,' you're crazy. It's something. Your still crazy about Rachel." Mike thought to himself. He sighed leaning his head again the headboard, hearing the faint breathing of his new girlfriend Brittney and fell asleep.

* * * *

I got dressed into my pyjamas and laid down on my bed. I sighed and turned of the glowing light on my bed stand and just lay awake.

"You don't love Mike, He has a girlfriend. You need to get a boyfriend. Your 34 years old, and your single. You've been single ever since mike left you. You're pathetic. Go out and get a guy." I said to myself.

*Morning*

I got up to the sound of Ayleen making coffee.

"You know you shouldn't drink that," I said coming into the kitchen.

"I know, this is for you," She said smiling and passing me a cup of coffee.

"Thanks," I said smiling and grabbing the cup.

"So...you gonna call them?" Ayleen asked sitting on the couch.

"What-- oh...yea I suppose," I sighed sipping on my coffee and sitting next to Rachel cross-legged on the couch.

"Well go on, don't wait a whole month year or week," Ayleen said handing me her cell. I nodded shakily and grabbed it.

I scanned through the names.

Billie

Adrienne

Tre

Mike

I really wanted to phone Mike, but that would seem way too awkward. I looked back at the names and decided which one. I decided to face my fears and call Mike anyways.

I took a deep breath and clicked on his.

*Riiiing Riiiing*

I put the phone up to my ear and nervously bit my nails while my daughter watched me.

"Hello?"

* * * *

"Hello?" Mike said into his cell phone while Brittney was making coffee. "Hello?" He said getting frustrated.

"I--wrong number," The person on the other line said and quickly hung up. Weird...

"Who was that?" Brittney asked coming in with coffee and sitting beside him handing it to Mike.

"I don't know, they just said wrong number and hung up," Mike explained.

"Probably just some teenagers," She said taking a sip of her coffee.

"Maybe," Mike said but he knew that probably wasn't true. The person sounded older than a teenager.

* * * *

I freaked out. I couldn't do it. What would I say anyways?

"Oh hi Mike, it's Rachel. Your old girlfriend? Remember me? Will I'm still in love with you," Yea right make a total fool out of myself.

"What happened?" Ayleen said.

"Err, wrong number," I said smiling she raised and eyebrow and nodded.

I tried calling someone else.

I scanned through the contacts again.

Let's try...Tre

Grinning I clicked on his name and put the phone to my ear.

*Riiiing Riiiing*

"Hello, you've reached Mr. Sexy Cool," I heard Tre say in a low deep voice. So typical.

"Hey Frank," I said smiling.

"What--HOW DO YOU KNOW MY REAL NAME?" Tre yelled amazed and freaked out.

"Oh come on, I've know you since we were in high school," I grinned.

It was quiet until I heard a gasp then him falling over.

"RACHEL?!" He yelled into the phone.

"Ouch, yea," I said laughing.

"How are you?!" He said excited.

"I'm good," I said, "How are you? Still with Kassandra?"

"I'm great. But sadly no I'm not with Kassandra. She found someone else, when I went on tour. She got sick of me going away all the time. But hey it's my job, and I'm talking to my long lost friend," He said sadly then happy again.

"Sorry about that," I said wanting to hug him.

"Nah it's not your fault," He said sympatheitcly.

I smiled and decided to let him go and take a shower.

"I really whish I could have the courage and talk to Mike," I sighed once again for the what? 15th time today?
