Let Me Kiss You One More Time, chapter 15

Adrienne tucked the boys in their own bed at home. She sighed and sat herself down on Joey's bed.
"What's up mom?" Joey said quietly watching his mother put her head in her hands and gave a heavy sigh.
"Nothing," Adrienne said smiling and leaning over to kiss her sons forehead.
If only you knew, She thought still smiling to reassure her son everything was alright.
Joey nodded and closed his eyes dozing off. She walked over to the door, leaving the room and quietly closing the doors.
She heard Jakob snore lightly as she walked past his room. Adrienne made her way to her room curling up in bed, under the warm duvet. She snuggled her head into the pillow next to her, which was filled with the scent of Billie. Tears slowly escaped the corners of her eyes, making her shut her eyes close, which one made more tears pour out.
"Why Billie?" Adrienne whispered to herself slowly slipping into a dream.

"Come on babe," Billie giggled pulling at Adrienne's wrists lightly. Adrienne rolled her eyes at the 21 year old tugging at her.
"Where are we going?" She asked walking up beside Billie.
"Umm..." Billie hummed snaking his arm around Adrienne.
"You don't know?" Adrienne asked once again laughing.
"No idea," Billie smirked kissing Adrienne's cheek.
The 23 year old giggled lightly resting her head on Billie's shoulder.
"Hmm, I love you," Adrienne hummed wrapping her arms around his front and back.
"I love you too," Billie said continuing to walk with her beside him.

Adrienne awoke, sitting up straight and wiping away the tears. Sniffing, she got out of the bed and headed downstairs with a sweater and sweats on. Running a hand slowly down her face, she grabbed some cereal and bowls out for the boys. She just wasn't in the mood for cooking. She felt cold, even with the cotton sweater on. She missed having some strong arms around her. She shook her head trying to forget Billie.
"No no no, He was an ass that night," Adrienne said to herself sighing.

"Meow," The kitten meowed loudly on top of Billie's chest on the couch. She dug her claws in his chest lightly fixing her spot to sit.
"Ouch!" Billie yelped flinching, making the kitten jump, jumping off him.
"You annoying thing," Billie moaned angrily slapping a hand to his face and dragging it down his cheek.
Ayleen pranced into the room happily singing loudly just to annoy her uncle.
"Wakey!" She sang in front of him.
"Go away," He moaned stuff a pillow over his face.
"Just kill me now," He said his voice muffled from the pillow.
"I could," Ayleen said tapping a finger to her chin. "But I'll wait."
He sighed flinging the pillow off and sitting up.
"I'm up," Billie grumbled.
"Good!" Ayleen clapped, "Now get your ass to your house!"
Billie rolled his eyes and sighed.
"One problem," He said lying back down. "Adrienne."
"So? What's wrong with her?" Ayleen asked.
"Never mind," Billie said trying hard not to snap out. Ayleen sighed and nodded walking away.

Upstairs; I was sound asleep with Mike's chin rested on my shoulder.
"Moom!" Ayleen whined barging into the room, not noticing mike.
"Mo--Oh hey Mike," Ayleen began, but stopped noticing Mike.
"Hmm," Mike groaned pulling the blankets over his head.
"Mom!" Ayleen whined again.
"What?" I asked annoyed and tired.
"Uncle Billie wont go back home," Ayleen said climbing on the bed and laying in the middle of us.
"Hmm?" I hummed not really listening.
"I said," Ayleen sighed, "Uncle Billie won't go back home."
"That's nice dear," I yawned closing my eyes and falling back asleep, only to be woken by Ayleen, getting up and shaking the blanket on top of us.
"Mom, I'm serious," Ayleen sighed dropping the blanket and storming out of my room.
I turned over to face Mike's back, nuzzling my head into his neck.

"You owe me," Ayleen said shoving her face in her uncles.
"What?" Billie groaned turning is attention away from the TV.
"You owe me," Ayleen repeated sticking her hip out and placing a hand on it.
"Owe you what?" Billie rolled his eyes sighing.
"You owe me something," Ayleen said thinking. "Make me breakfast."
"Make you what?" Billie snapped annoyed.
"Breakfast. Go on," Ayleen said pointing her black nail polished finger to the kitchen.

In the kitchen Billie was flipping over some pancakes angrily.
"Go make me this, go make me that, go go go," Billie mimicked in a high-pitched voice annoyed. He flopped the burnt pancake over and smacked it down on a plate.
Ayleen entered the area fully dressed and all. She smelt the air and gagged, sitting down.
"What's that smell," Ayleen muttered plugging her nose.
"Your breakfast," Billie mumbled placing the plate in front of her. She scrunched up her nose in disgust pushing it away.
"Ew, it's burnt," Ayleen said poking at it. "And i could play Frisbee with it."
"Shut up," Billie snapped loudly, making Ayleen glance up in shock. Billie muttered some curse words under his breath, putting his head on the table.
"Im sorry," Billie sighed shaking his head roughly.
"It's okay," Ayleen said patting his back gently.
"No," Billie mumbled shaking his head again. "No it's not okay. I snapped at you for no reason."
"No honestly it's okay Billie," Ayleen said smiling warmly, pulling Billie into a friendly hug.
"I'm sorry," Billie sobbed nuzzling his head into her shoulder.
"I know," She said going on her tipy-toes and kissing his head.

"Billie," Mike sighed running a hand through his brown hair.
"Mike i don't know," Billie said slouching back deep into the couch.
"Go apologize to her," Mike said leaning forward and collapsing his hands together.
"No," Billie grumbled crossing his arms over his chest.
"Billie," Mike roared with anger.
"Fine," Billie sighed whipping the phone out of it's charger and slamming in the numbers.

Adrienne whipped her hands dry and answered the phone in a calm happy voice;

"Hello?"
"Hey," Billie said over the phone shakily.
"What do you want Billie?" Adrienne sighed coldly resting the phone on her shoulder.
"Can we talk?" Billie asked, knowingly running a through his hair.
"I guess," Adrienne said fiddling with the cloth.
"I'm sorry," Billie sighed over the phone changing ears, "Sorry for being an asshole, for being a jerk. I didn't mean to freak out and hurt Joey. I didn't mean to hurt you either. I just," Billie paused taking in a deep sigh and thinking, "I just....I was just upset. Upset about the upcoming album and all. Mostly upset about us."
Adrienne's bottom lip quivered a whimper quietly escaping her lips.
"I don't know Billie. What you did--what you did hurt us," She said sitting down at the chair.
"I know, I know." He said quietly. He gave a deep sigh and spoke again, "Well...can you at least forgive me?"
"Just like that? You want me to just forgive you like that?" Adrienne said her voice rising as she stood up from the chair she was sitting in.
Billie was quiet on the phone. He didn't say anything, except whimper a few times.
"I gotta go," Billie whispered hanging up the phone before even saying good-bye. Adrienne put the phone down, resting her head in her hands as a few tears escaped her eyes.
"He hates me," Adrienne sobbed to herself.

* * * *

"She fucking hates me guys," Billie yelled lying down on the couch.
"She doesn't hate you, she probably is just annoyed at you," Mike sighed sitting down.
"Just give 'er a week," Tre said calmly walking in.
"Alright," Billie sighed closing his eyes.

* * * *

"I don't know Rachel," Adrienne sighed sipping on her drink.
"Yea he was an asshole, but i mean he's going through a rough time," I said looking at her.
"Rough time with what? I have to raise two kids by myself," Adrienne said in a calm tone.
I shook my head and got some more coffee.
"Want some?" I asked spinning around and shaking the coffee pot in the air. Adrienne nodded and let go of her cup placing it in front of her. I walked over and poured some in, and some in mine.
"Thanks," She said grabbing the cup again. I smiled and sat back down.
"I mean, jeez, you and Mike and fine," Adrienne said collapsing her hands together.
We are now,
"You guys are perfect. You never fight, you raise Ayleen perfectly and you love each other," Adrienne said waving her hands about and smiling at me.
If only you knew.
I only smiled and nodded comforting Adrienne as much as i could until it got dark and she had to go home and cook for Joey and Jakob.
"Bye Adie," I said softly in her ear, rubbing her back.
"Bye," She said going out the front door and driving away.

* * * *

Billie huffed angrily pacing back and forth in the dining room.
"What i did was retarded, yes I know that. It won't ever happen again," Billie said quietly still pacing back and forth in front of Adrienne who was sitting quietly looking down at her wedding band.
"Do I trust you?" Adrienne sighed looking up with teary eyes.
"Yes, yes," Billie whispered kneeling in front of her, putting his hands over hers. "I promise,"
Adrienne closed her eyes breathing in deeply. Thoughts and questions swirled around her head like a non-stop tornado.

Could she really trust him for what he had done?

She opened her eyes, to see some green sorrow eyes looking back at her. She opened her mouth, about to say something, but shut her mouth and sat there quietly looking at him. She just wanted to feel those rough, yet soft lips back on hers, for the first time in 2 months.

"Don't let it happen again," She said coldly but adding a gentle smile. Billie's lips turned into a form of a smile, pulling Adrienne into a loving hug.
"Thank you," Billie whispered into her ear and kissed her nose.

* * * *

"Congrat's man!" Tre cheered clinging his bottle of beer in the hair.
Billie smirked giggling, sipping on his sparkly water.
"Thanks guys," Billie said smiling wide.
Mike patted him on the back roughly, yet smiling.
Billie turned his head around and sent back the smile.
"Okay okay," I cheered coming into the living room and putting down a plate of snacks for them all.
"Don't make a mess, and don't be so loud," I laughed walking away shaking my head at the adults acting like kids.
I walked down the hall towards my bedroom. On the way I peeked my head into Ayleen's room. She sat there shaking on her bed crying curled up in a ball.
I rushed over to her and scooped her up in my arms rocking her back and forth, smoothing out her hair.
"Mom," She squeaked out crying.
"I'm here," I said quietly kissing her forehead.
"It's okay, shh," I cooed still rocking her back and forth.
If only you knew mom, if only you knew,

**One the way home**

"Bye guys!" Ayleen yelled waving at her friends walking away, "I'll see you tomorrow."
Her friends nodded in response waving back. Ayleen skipped along the cracked up side-walk, her destination to her house.
She passed by some alleys, that always crept her out. Her eyes quickly darted to the direction of the dark alley. She heard something move in there. She quickened up her pace, as her heart thumped madly inside of her, pleading to escape from her chest.

It's probably just a rat, right?

She shook her head, trying to think about happy things. She slowed down her pace as she reached a friendly neighbor. A cat meowed behind her, making her jump. Ayleen turned around on her heel of her beated up converse. She saw a man wearing all black looking down and catching up to her. She gasped terrified and ran home, only to make the man behind her, run also.

She was almost home. She ran faster, as fast as she could. I guess whoever her real dad was, was a fast runner. She reached the street of her house, and spotted the home sweet home. She sprinted up the driveway, the guy out of view. She pushed the door open with force and ran past everyone shaking as she ran.

I closed the door to Ayleen's room as she fell asleep. I sighed and went towards the guys sitting myself down on Mike's lap, who was thankfully still sober.

"What's up?" Mike whispered in my ear, wrapping his arms around me.
"Got Ayleen asleep," I sighed closing my eyes and resting my head on his shoulder. He only nodded and sipped on his beer, quietly laughing at Billie and Tre.

After awhile, 10 minutes later actually, i fell asleep in mikes lap, sleeping like a baby. Yawning, he instructed the guys to leave for the night and possibly come back tomorrow.
"Seeya," Billie smiled pushing Tre out the door and leaving.
Mike sighed putting down his empty beer bottle, and lifting me up from his lap and carrying me up the stairs. He grunted at every time he took a step up the stairs.
"I'm not that heavy," I chuckled my eyes still closed. I felt Mike jump with me in his arms, and lightly laugh.
"I know, your my little feather," Mike said smiling. My father used to say that when i was little.

"Daddy Daddy!" I chanted happily as he entered the house. My blonde hair was back in a tight pony tail, that mom had put in with a pink fuzzy scrunchy.
"Hey sweet-pea," He smiled wide taking off his hat and jacket, scooping me up in his arms.
"I mished you," I grinned poking his nose with my tiny finger.
"I missed you too," He chuckled rubbing his nose against mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck and giggled.
"Daddy?" I asked as he carried me into the kitchen.
"Yup?" He said still smiling.
"Aren't I too heavy for you?" I asked curious.
"Not at all. You're my little feather," He said looking into my eyes with his blue eyes.
I smiled wide and giving him a kiss on the cheek.

I laid on the Queen size bed, a cream colored duvet draped over me. I felt the space beside me sink in and the sheet lifted up. I started to stir a bit.
"Go back to sleep," A voice hushed quietly and calmly wrapping his arms around me. Mike nuzzled his head in my shoulder. I closed my eyes again, and felt his warm breath on my skin. It calmed me down, and put me to sleep within a few minutes.

I got up with Ayleen rushing in and out of rooms, lights flickering on and off. I groaned and stumbled into her room watching her pace around franticly.
"What are you doing?" I snapped. It's not like i meant to snap at her.
"I don't know what to wear for school," She said throwing stuff out of her closet.
"At 6 in the morning?!" I groaned sliding a hand over my face and sitting on her bed.
"Mom," She said sharply turning to me. I closed my eyes and laid on her bed zoning out.
"Oh man," I heard Ayleen grumble and sigh.
"Whatever, I'll wear this," She said to herself and getting into something. I awoke to her shaking me awake and bugging me to pack her lunch and such.
"Fine," I groaned getting up and making my way downstairs.
I packed her a lazy lunch; sandwich, juice box, pudding and chips.
I put it all in a paper bag and stuffed it in her backpack. I grabbed my keys, and wrote a quick note just letting Mike know im dropping Ayleen off. I laughed for some reason remembering when Mike once dropped ayleen off.

"Mike can you drop me off at school?" Ayleen asked Mike shoveling her face with cereal.
Mike moaned and sighed at the same time.
"Won't there be....teenies?" Mike said shuddering at the word teenies.
"I don't know...disguise yourself," Ayleen grinned grabbing her backpack and grabbing the car keys.
"I'll be in the car," She called leaving the house.
Mike sighed once again, got some shades and a hat and went to the car.
He started the BMW and started to drive to her school.
Once he got there he pulled over in front of the entrance and Ayleen got out.
"Thanks," Ayleen smiled and closed the door. Mike-for some idiotic reason- pulled down his sunglasses and smiled.
"OH MY GOD! IT'S MIKE DIRNT," Someone yelled pointing to the car and gasped. A swarm of teenies huddled around the car. Panicking, Mike pushed the 'lock' button inside the car and locked all the doors.
"Fuck," He mumbled repeating the word over and over.
He started up the car again and honked the horn, making the teenies move away. He sped out of the parking lot, and headed home.

"Bye honey," I said waving at her as she headed up the stairs to her school.
I drove back home to find Mike sleeping on the couch. I put down my purse, and slipped off my shoes heading towards mike. There was enough space on the couch, so i slid in beside him and felt him move.
"What time is it," He mumbled wrapping his arm around my waist.
"8:30," I said kissing his lips and patting his cheek.
"Crap," He groaned getting up and rubbing his eyes.
"What?" I sighed not getting up.
"I have to meet Billie and Tre at star bucks," Mike said getting his jacket and wallet.
"Oh," I said fiddling with some thread coming off of my jeans. He frowned, walking towards me and giving me a peck on the lips.
"I'll be back, K?" He said smiling down at me.
"K," I said smiling back.

* * * *

"You guys are lucky," Tre groaned sipping on his coffee.
"Why?" Billie and Mike both said.
"You guys have a girl," Tre sighed and shook his head. "I don't."
"Hey don't give your hopes up buddy," Billie said giving him a small smile.
"There's always a girl for every man," Mike said also smiling at Tre.
"I just gotta find her," Tre sighed miserably.
