An Evil Furby Story, chapter 1
Billie was racing home in his black BMW. It was 2 days before Christmas, and he had just gone shopping for his sons, Joey and Jakob. He had gotten them furbys, a black and white one with a mohawk for Joey, and a brown and white mottled one with a tail for Jakob. He flipped open his cell phone, to call Adrienne.
"Hey, Adie." He said as he went down the highway,
"Hey honey! What did you get the boys?" Billie felt immediately relaxed when he heard her voice.
"These little furry things called Furbys. They wanted dogs, but I don't know if they're responsible enough. These furby things are supposed to be able to communicate with them. It sounds real fun." Billie said as he exited to go home.
"Okay, good. They were pestering me earlier for a pet. For now they can have the furby thing."
"I"m almost home. See you, hon."
"Bye, love ya." Adrienne hung up and went back to finishing the Christmas cookies. "Boys, go up to your rooms! Your dad is coming home with your gifts, and I don't want you to see them!" She heard Joey sigh and go up the stairs. Jakob followed after his older brother. Just then, Billie came in the door. "In here." Adie called from the kitchen.
Billie went into the kitchen and set down his bags. "What else did you get?" Adrienne eyes the bags carefully.
"Stuff." Billie smiled and kissed Adrienne. He looked down at the cookies she was painting and grabbed one. Before she could stop him, he had eaten it. She sighed, but smiled. He picked up the bags again and went up to their room.
*Jaoey & Jakob's room/ 10:00 pm*
"Joey?" Jakob asked and turned so he could see his brother's bed on the other side of the room.
"What?" Joseph snapped. He was really tired, and tomorrow was Christmas Eve. All his relatives would be down and he didn't want to be embarrased by waking up late.
"What do ya think Dad got us?" Jakob asked excitedly. He could've stayed up for hours more he was so excited.
"I don't know..." Joey turned over and faced the door. Why did Jakob care? Joey couldn't even think straight right now.
*9 am*
"Get up boys!" Billie said and knocked on his son's bedroom door. He heard Joey moan and Jakob fall off his bed onto the floor. He went down to the living room and saw Adrienne making a large brunch. All of their family members would be coming over at noon, and he knew Adie wanted things to be perfect. He yawned, turned, and went to get ready in their room.
"God, I don't know why they make us get up 3 hours before everyone comes..." Joey groaned. Jakob smiled and raced to the closet, almost tripping Joey. Joey hissed and reached over his younger brother to pick out some clothes.
"Hello, Ollie!" Adrienne cried happily some 2 hours later. Billie's mom had come over early to help the Armstrong's set up.
"What can I do to help, darling?" Ollie asked as she and Adie hugged.
"Well, I think Billie is coming down. He might need help with something." Ollie smiled and sat on the couch while Billie came down the steps.
"Hi, Mom." He gave her a peck on the cheek and smiled. "How're things?"
"Oh, just great." Ollie said happily.
"Mom, me and Jake are going out back, kay?" Joey lied. He had talked to Jakob, and they both agreed that wahtever their Dad had gotten them was bugging them. They had to find out. So while his parents were talking to all the relatives, they would sneak off to their bedroom and see just what they had gotten them.
"Just be safe, and don't get all dirty." Adrienne said from the fridge. Joey turned to Jake and smiled. They tiptoed past Billie and Ollie and went up the stairs. He heard the doorbell ring again, and quickened his step.
"Woah..." Joey said when he opened his parent's closet. It was nothing like he expected. It was totally neat and organized, with tons of wrapped gifts taking up most of the space. There was one unwrapped gift, and Joey and Jake supposed it wa the gift their dad had gotten them. He opened the bag and just stared. "What the....?" He took out the plastic the furby was wrapped in and looked around to see if anyone was coming. He was reassured when he heard the doorbell ring and his mom say, "Coming!"
"What's that, Joey?" Jakob asked and snatched the other furby.
"I-I don't know." He turned it over and looked at the scary, staring furball inside. "Oh, it's one of those fur-things. The one's that have the creepy commercial, Jake."
"Oh. That's cool." Jake said and put his back in the bag after Joey did. It's cool for a 3rd grader... Joey thought bitterly. What about the dog we wanted? Joey and Jakob snuck out of their parent's room and made it to the backyard just before their mom appeared.
"Come on, Aunt Holly's here." Joey groaned under his breath and Jakob snickered. Aunt Holly always commented on how big the boys had grown, making them feel uncomfortable. She was the kind of Aunt who would pinch your cheeks and talk to you like a baby. Although she always knew just what the boys always wanted. Maybe Aunt Holly got them the dog!
*After Lunch/Opening the gifts*
Joey was happy with the gifts he got. A few video games, some clothes, CD's, bunches of money, and miscellaneous gift cards. Jakob was excited. He had gotten a few DVD's, some board and video games, some clothes, and lots of gift cards. And they both got exactly what they wanted from Aunt Holly. Joey got a dappled black and white cocker spaniel named Penguin. Jakob got a small blonde pomeranian pup named Jenny.
When all of the relatives had cleared out, Billie had somethingn to tell the boys. "I know you both got dogs, but that was after I got you these." Billie held out the furbys. Joey and Jake shared a secret glance. "Here, I hope you like them."
"Thanks, Dad." Joey said and took his black and white furby. Jakob just smiled excitedly and grabbed his brown furby. They both hugged and kissed their parents, then ran off to their bedrooms to play with their new gifts.
