Oh My God, You Like Her? But I Thought You Were Enemies!, chapter 6

"Mom! Going to the corner store to get some gum!" Kara called. She was still shaken from the afternoon's events, but she had not told her mother.
"Okay, dear." Her mother replied from the next room over, where she was washing dishes.
Kara left the house, and crossed the street. She passed the school and saw a bloodstains leading somewhere, then stopping. She guessed Tre and Mike must have really beaten him up. She passed the school and opened up the door to the corner store, bought her gum and left. Just as she was crossing the next street to go for a walk, she saw Billie Joe outside of a house with his girlfriend, Angie. Angie looked really angry. Kara hid behind a tree, hoping to find some information to use against him. After all, he did deserve it! He was such an asshole.
It wasn't until she heard Billie's voice that she really got interested. He was pleading and begging, just like a dog would, and using the strangest tone Kara had ever heard.
"Please, Angie, I don't like her and you know it!" Billie Joe cried.
"You do so! I heard you talking with Mike." Angie jabbed her pointer finger into Billie Joe. "You love her! You're trying to get her to notice you!"
"No I'm NOT!" Billie Joe insisted. "I don't like her!"
Who the hell are they talking about? Kara thought.
"I know why you like her. She's a troublemaker. The teachers don't like her! That's why you like her, isn't it?" Angie complained. "O-or because she's prettier?"
"You know you're my world, Angie! Come on, please don't believe what your stupid, preppy friends said!" Billie Joe wailed.
"Oh now my friends are stupid and preppy? Well fine, go ahead and like Kara." Kara's stomach lurched. "I don't need you. And nobody else will want you either, because I have connections to spread things. Bad things, Billie Joe! That's how much you hurt me!"
Kara couldn't take it anymore. Nobody deserved to be dumped like that. She stepped out and grabbed Angie by her shoulders, shaking her.
"What is wrong with you! Don't you see that you should trust the one your with?" Kara said, still shaking her. "First of all, he doesn't like me, and second of all, if you really got hurt that bad, then it must be because you like him, because you trust him, because you love him! Okay? So forget your stupid, preppy friends, and just forgive him!"
Angie blinked twice.
"Where the hell did you come from?" Angie asked.
"Yeah!" Billie Joe said. "I don't need your help in my... "
"She's right, Billie Joe, I'm so sorry!" Angie flew over to Billie Joe and wrapped her arms around him. "I'll never not trust you again!" She said, kissing his cheek. Kara felt a stranger lurch in her stomach, as if her heart had been ripped out, and she didn't know why.
Billie Joe smiled in astonishment, still looking over at Kara. Angie walked away, blowing Billie Joe a kiss, and smiling widely at Kara, telling her she would see her in school the next day. Kara started to walk away with her hands in the pockets of her hoodie, but Billie Joe ran to her and stopped her.
"Why did you do that?" He demanded.
"Because just cause you're a jerk... " She said, pointing at him. " Doesn't mean I have to be one. Besides, Angie's my friend. And now, please stop talking to me before I maul you."
"What the hell! I was just asking you... "
"Oh shut the fuck up and go away!" Kara screamed. "Can you not tell that I don't like you, since you obviously hate me? Now piss off."
"I don't hate you!"
"Funny way of showing it."
Kara stopped though. She turned off her Mp3 player and waited for him to say something. She tapped her foot, raising an eyebrow.
"Uh, you wanna say thanks? Or can I just leave."
Billie Joe scratched the back of his head.
"Uh... thanks... I guess."
Kara turned around to walk away, but Billie grabbed her by the arm. She glared at him, blowing her hair out of her eyes.
"Now wha-"
She couldn't finish, because he quickly shut her up with a kiss. He stopped after a while, when she had finally given in, and pulled away, grinning like an idiot. Kara stood there, confused and limp. Her arms hung at her sides.
"What the FUCK?" Kara cried, running away.
"Oh yeah... she totally digs me" Billie Joe said, turning around.
