Another step closer to the end, chapter 2
9pm Tuesday
Today I have had the best day of my life! I got up at my normal time and walked slouching down to my bus stop, expecting Lallie there in her usual high moods. Instead the whole gang was at my bus stop, Lallie, Demi, Elise, Jazz, and Lucky. They grabbed me and rushed behind Lallie's house (Lallie's house is right behind the bus stop, and yet mine is ages away typically) they then told me the plan.
Demi's mother sent a letter to the school saying that Demi was absent, Elise's mother sent a letter to school saying that she was very ill, Lallie's mother sent a quick note saying that she had a dentist appointment and isn't feeling very well, Jazz forged a note from her mother saying that she was going to London because her uncle was in hospital, and Lucky didn't do anything, just so we could mitch the day off!
"Are you all nuts?! Isn't it going to look a bit obvious if were all absent during the same day? And how the hell do you get your mum's to give you notes like that!" I whispered quickly.
"It was easy, we all told our parents about how terrible your day had been, and they agreed that since your dad moved and your brother left with him that you needed a break so we have permission to mitch. Who cares what the school say our mum's will back us up, so they can't argue against that!"
Let's just say I was amazed, and leave it at that! I haven't thought much about my parents divorce, everybody saw it coming, and even Jasmine knew and she's only five. I don't like my dad though, he was really coming down hard on mum accusing her of having an affair. As if my mum would have an affair! Not unless the guy was really good looking anyway! My dad then attacked my mother, me and Nigel (My twin brother, normally known as Nil to everybody else, and Nige by me) were terrified and I had to keep Jasmine in another room whilst Nigel tried to help mum. Unfortunately my dad completely lost it and hit Nige into the wall, he then got the lamp and whacked mum till she was unconscious. He then stormed out of the house and that was that. Now my dad has decided he wants custody of his kids, not because he cares about us, because he just wants to hate mum. Mum told the court about his violent attack on her and Nige, so they have given mum full custody of us kids, but say that dad is allowed to see one of us once a month.
Nige went because he didn't want me or Jasmine to get hurt, I love my brother so much and not many people can say that. It's just I really do share a bond with Nige, we're twins and best friends, we have a really strong bond and I really miss him. He has to spend a week at dad's before he can come back.
Anyway when the most greatest gang told me why they'd arranged a bunk of day just for me I got really chuffed and started crying it was like a scene from Eastenders.
The gang were chuffed that I was chuffed, so everybody was very chuffed. We soon decided to walk the long way to town so we could dodge anybody we knew.
It was fabulous and giddy up YEE HA! We went into boots and each of the gang bought me once thing each. Lallie got me some Gold Charlie spray, Demi got me the new Rimmel London eye mascara. Elise got me jet black eyeliner, and Jazz got me false nails and Lucky got me some sheer pink lip gloss. It was girl heaven, as well as that I bought myself a new Green Day hoody. Elise bought one as well, I'm glad I'm not the only one in the gang who likes Green Day, well I mostly like Tre sexy Cool but, Top Notch! We then went to the U. C. I and got loads of pictures of us all together in the Van Gogh machine. We then went to see the film Just Like Heaven. It was great, a really nice chickety flickety. After that we went to Starving Jacks and particularly ate everything they made. I really do love my friends, they are all complete idiots, but I love them. After we went to rest round by the water fountain outside McDonalds, this was after loads more shopping mind. I had millions of bags and I wondered how I'd hide them from mum when I got back in to the house.
We all started to talk and were having a fabby time. Demi came to sit right up close to me and gave me a warm hug, ah it was so kind, everybody came up and hugged me then, and we all started to cry! Eventually we figured that we must look really stupid to the public eye. We were all sitting on the fountain side hugging, crying and drowning in bags.
We had half an hour so we all decided to just talk about life. Demi asked me,
"Do you miss Nil? Or is it a relief?"
I said,
"I do miss him, he is the best brother ever, and I am really going mad. I talk to him before I go to bed even though he isn't there. Only the thoughts of Tre Cool in underwear keep me alive."
"I know what you mean! If I had a brother as cute as Nil I would go mad through separation!" It cheered me up when Lucky said this cause it was so typically her and everybody started saying how cute Nige was, actually it was a bit embarrassing.
"Have you seen Nil's snake?" Jazz asked seriously. I knew exactly what she meant by snake but I thought I'd play along.
"Nigel hasn't got a snake, we only have a fish and Jasmine, we haven't got any over animals whatsoever."
"NO! I meant his boy parts dumbo! You are his twin so you must have seen it!" Jazz started to sound very serious and I was scared, luckily Elise saved the day by asking Jazz why it was her concern.
Then the gang all started talking about boy parts and Lallie even said that her dad had a nice one! It was disgusting and random but that's life for you.
When I got home I ran upstairs with my bags and dived into my room and chucked them under the bed. I then froze in my action, completely gobby smacked! Nige was sitting on my bed with his eyebrow raised and smiling at me. I jumped on him and hugged hugged huggedy hugged him! I then started kissing him all other the cheeks, leaving sheer pink lip gloss marks, he laughed though and kissed me gently on the lips. Well I told you we were close, we love each other, not in the uh, you know... Snogging, marriage love just brotherly sisterly, best mately way.
"Hey Chary (Me and Nige have our own name's for each other. ) Did you miss me?"
I just kissed him again and hugged him very tightly. He laughed and I laughed and we laughed like two people laughing. It was funny. I then suddenly realised he was back two days early from dad's. I then went panicky and started asking what had happened when I noticed the bandage around his right wrist.
"Dad got annoyed when I complained about missing you so he lashed out and broke my wrist. I have good news though, now that it is proven that dad is violent he isn't allowed to see any of us unless we agree on it, and even then he has to get permission from court."
I was very nervy but very happy, this meant I wouldn't have to see my fat dad ever again, but I couldn't believe Nige had risked the violence and broken his wrist to make it happen. I started to cry and me and Nige hugged tightly and I kissed his wrist, he then passed me a tiny little picture of Tre Cool looking drop dead gorgeous in a Green Day picture frame, I couldn't stop hugging him then. Jasmine then came in and joined in the hug.
It was all so familyish, it was like one of those really cheesy parts in Neighbours. Mum ran into my room screaming for Jasmine. When she saw us all hugging she joined in and went all mumsie like. Unfortunately the mood turned to hysterics as mum remembered why she had been calling Jasmine.
"JASMINE! Open your mouth and let Sparkly out!" Mum yelled grabbing Jasmine.
Jasmine slowly opened her mouth and there was nothing there, me and Nige got very confused not understanding what mum had meant.
Mum then had a nervous fit and started shaking uncontrollably, she grabbed her own hand, and slowly and calmly said,
"Jasmine, where is Sparkly?" Jasmine giggled and pointed at her tummy saying,
"He's gone swimming in my tummy!" Mum went fanatic!
"YOU SWALLOWED THE FISH! OH NO NO NO!" Mum repeated saying no, and then Jasmine started to pretend to be Sparkle and ran around my room singing, "I AM Sparkly, the little wittele fishy wishy dishy nick nack num!"
Suddenly Sparkle fell out from Jasmine's trousers, everybody froze. Jasmine had put the fish in her knickers and peed saying that it was so Sparkly could swim in her knickers.
Sparkly is now in her tank with natural salty welsh mineral water, we have given her a lot of food to try and say sorry. As for mum she is in the bath having a slight nervous fit, and I am testing my new make-up on at Nige. Just so you know Nige doesn't usually let me give him make overs, my brother isn't gay it's just my family are mad. Jasmine is in the airing cupboard playing Eskimo.
