Whispering Songs In My Ear, chapter 4
Mike and I grew farther and farther apart. We haven't seen each other for a very long time. Ritalin Abuse had been on tour for awhile and so had Green Day. I went through boyfriend after boyfriend, but I guess none were as good as Mike. Mike went through many girlfriends as well, but none ever lived up to be as good as Angie.
"So, you doing good Angie?" Anna asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"I guess she hasn't been thinking about Mike for awhile." Anne said to Sara.
"Yeah, she seems really good, even though after what happened between her and Mike left her depressed for days."
"So, what you doing tonight?" Anna asked Angie
"Out on a date with a guy."
"Oh, really who?"
"His name is Jesse." That night Angie got ready for the date and then Jesse arrived. They headed for a bar not to far away. They engaged in conversation and Angie soon realized this guy was kind of a jerk. All full of himself, and egotistical kind of person. Meanwhile, Mike had a date with a lovely girl and they headed for a bar and they talked and joked, but Mike noticed she just wasn't right for him. Jesse excused himself from the table and headed for the bathroom. Angie couldn't have been more relieved. Angie leaned back against the chair and sighed. She can never find a good guy. She looked over and saw Mike sitting there by himself. She sat and looked around for anyone waiting for him or something like that. She got up and walked over to Mike.
"Hey."
"Hey, it's great to see you!" Mike said smiling.
"Yeah, it is! So, what are you doing here?"
"Oh, I'm here with a date, but it's just bad. I can never find a good girl."
"Yeah, same here. My date is a total drag. So full of himself."
"Man, don't you hate that?"
"Yeah. Totally!" We laughed and started to laugh. Then Jesse and Mike's date walked over.
"Oh, this is Jesse, Mike." I said nudging Mike in the arm. He laughed.
"And this is my date, Kirsten." Mike said nudging me back and I laughed.
"What was that about?" Kirsten asked.
"Oh, nothing. We were very close friend a long time ago. We always used to joke." Mike said winking at me.
"Hope to see you around!" I said
"Yeah, same!" And Jesse and I walked away toward our table. Jesse started questioning about Mike and I had only one reply.
"You know Jesse, We are just not right for each other. I hope you understand. Oh, and one piece of advice. Don't come off so egotistical the next time you get a date." And I headed out the door. Mike saw that I walked out without Jesse and left his date and walked out the door too. I was leaning against the building lighting up a cigarette.
"So, you break up with him?"
"Yeah, he take it easy by his look?"
"I don't think so. Man, your good at breaking people's hearts." I looked over at Mike with a smile on his face.
"Hey, I'm really sorry about, you know." I said looking at the floor.
"No, it's my fault I should have known." I looked at the floor again after looking at his face.
"But you didn't. I shouldn't have reacted that way." Mike walked toward me closer and he kissed me. He put his hand behind my head and I put my hands around his neck. That was when I truly knew he was the only one for me.
"Oh, so know your some kind of whore. You break up with me and go kiss any guy?" Jesse said walking out of the bar. Mike pulled away and looked at him. He walked over to Jesse and knocked him out cold. I ran over and kissed Mike. I never want to leave Mike again.
