***MIKE TALKING TO RACHEL***
* Mike’s POV *
“Hey Rachel, since you’re a girl, and Kym said you’re really good at giving advice, can you help me?� hopefully, she’d be able to.
“Yea, sure Mike. Of course.� She said, and she smiled at me.
“Well, Hannah dumped me, and she didn’t even tell me why.� It was true, she just said that it wasn’t the right time for her, which I didn’t understand.
“Oh, that’s horrible. Well, sometimes girls dump guys for reasons we think are stupid, but mean something to us, so instead, we come up with a lame excuse to cover for it. Or maybe she was having an affair and didn’t want to feel guilty. I really can’t help you if you just want to know why, cuz I don’t really know Hannah.�
“Ok, thanks anyway,� damn, I was hoping for a bit more help than that.
“Well, if you want, my friend Tara is single, and she’s a year older than me and Kym. I’m pretty sure you’d get along with her.� Rachel offered. Hmm, sounded good, I mean, I had nothing to lose right?
“Ok, sounds good. How about a double date? You know, with you, your friend, Tre and me?�
“Sure, how’s Friday?�
“Friday is good. What time?�
“Ok, do you know where the ‘Melrose’ is?�
“Yea, near the harbour right?�
“Yep, that’s it. You and Tre meet me and Tara there at around 7:30. Don’t forget to dress right, it’s a slightly fancy place.� Rachel said, and smiled
“What about Billie Joe and Kym?�
“Don’t worry about them, I know they like to do things...alone.�
“Ok then, sounds good.� I said, and smiled back at her. I can’t wait to meet Tara!
***PHONE CALL FROM BILLIE JOE TO KYM***
* Kym’s POV *
“Hi� I wondered who was calling me. Rachel was in her room, mum and dad were both watching TV.
“Hey babe,� Ah, of course, it’s Billie Joe!
“Hi!�
“I just realised something,� he said.
“Er, what?� I asked hoping it wasn’t anything very important that I had forgotten.
“We’ve never been out anywhere fancy,� he said.
“Yea,�
“Well, I was sort of wondering if you’d like to go to some sort of restaurant with me for dinner on Thursday night.� Sounded good to me, just as long I could be myself there.
“Sure, where and what time?�
“I’ll come and pick you up around 7 pm and it’s a surprise!� Hmm…
“Ooo! I love surprises!� I squealed.
“Then you’re going to love Thursday night. Just make sure you wear something fancy, like as in no denim, no mini skirts, and no cat collars. Yes, Rachel told me about the popular bitch’s party, well, it’s not one of those occasions ok? I’d really love to see what you look like when you dress up.�
“Ok, but promise me I won’t have to talk to any stuck up people I don’t know.�
“I promise.�
“Ok, cool. See you then, bye!�
“Love you babe, bye!� and seeing as the conversation was over, I hung up the phone. I quickly ran over to my wardrobe to see if I had anything fancier than singlets, mini’s, and pants. Sadly, I didn’t, which meant I had to go shopping! I went next door the Rachel’s room.
“Rachel, shopping, tomorrow. Kym need fancy dress. Be ready to leave early so we can be back before lunch.� I quickly said.
“Ok, good. I need something fancy too.� Weird.
“Uh, why?� I inquired, with a look pf suspicion on my face.
“Because Tre, Mike, Tara and I are going to the Melrose for dinner of Friday.�
“Mike just got dumped by Hannah, and you’re trying to hook him up with Tara? INGENIOUS!!! Wow, I wish I’d thought of that!� it was true, them two would make a pretty perfect couple.
“Yea, great idea aye?� Rachel said, grinning at me.
“Yea!� I agreed, and left the room.
