A Day On The Green, chapter 6
‘Wow, maybe I was wrong about you Tre’, Steph said, taking a look over him. She had been doing so for the last 10 minutes. His dirty look was quite attractive and it seemed to be an attraction that made Steph pay attention. Tre rubbed the back of his neck at the kind of complement he was given.
‘Thanks’, he said shyly, smiling at her as he rubbed the back of his neck.
‘So are you gonna help him?’, Billie Joe asked, watching Steph scan over Tre’s frame.
‘Like I said, I might’, she told them, walking down the stairs from her bedroom to the lounge room. Tre and Billie Joe followed her closely before she turned around.
‘Give me one good reason I should help you out again’, she told them smiling at what she saw. Billie Joe and Tre looked at eachother again for a moment.
‘Ahh well’, Billie Joe mumbled nervously.
‘You ahh’, Tre added just as nervous.
‘You will, be satisfied with knowing that you’ve helped out a friend’, Billie Joe told her, kinda iffy about his answer. Steph smiled and looked at both of them.
‘Satisfied knowing I’ve helped a friend huh?’, she let out opening the fridge.
‘Well yeah’, Billie Joe said, finishing of his kinda short for argument
‘And ahh something else, but you’ll only find out what it is if you agree to go along with this’, Tre told her.
This quickly got Steph’s attention back, now making her curious.
‘What do you mean –something else-?’, she asked, closing the door without taking anything from it.
Tre started to sweat up just as Billie Joe started breaking out. The two of them looked at eachother.
‘Just something you’ll find out when we’re like out somewhere. Together’, he told her, bitting his lip.
Steph raised her eyebrow at him, wondering what exactly this ‘something’ might be.
‘Alright then, so where do we......together’......have to go for me to find this ‘something’ out?’, she asked him, stepping closer to them. Tre started to break out even more.
‘Ahh, battle maybe, or like..’, he managed to mumble before Billie Joe cut in.
‘Date’, he shrieked, ‘You have to go on a date with Tre to find out what he has to tell you’. Tre nodded.
‘Yeah a date. I mean like a friends date. I mean just as friends. I mean......’, Tre said all confused.
‘I know what you mean Tre I know that you mean’, she said smiling at him.
‘Okay, we’ll go on this date thing, whatever you wanna call it’, she told them, ‘But if I find out nothing you two are both gone. This deal to get your cheerleader-airhead-girl is off’, she warned them looking at them both seriously.
‘Yeah that’s cool’, Tre told her, relaxing a little, ‘That’s totally fine’, he finished. Billie Joe smiled to show he agreed. Even though Steph still wasn’t falling for this she fell into the trap anyway.
‘Fine then, when I come back from the city with Shay I’ll go with you, on this date thing to where ever we have to go’, she told Tre, turning her back on them to walk to the door as there had been a person knocking there for over a few minutes. She opened up the door to see Shay standing there waiting for her.
‘Hi gorgeous’, Shay said enthusiastically giving Steph a hug.
‘Haven’t seen you in a while’, Steph replied, giving back a hug.
‘Oh who’s that?’, Shay asked, noticing Tre and Billie Joe watching the both of them from the lounge.
Steph turned to face them.
‘Ahh their my brothers mates, Billie Joe and Tre’, she said introducing them to Shay.
‘Wow, he’s kinda cute’, Shay let out looking over at Tre.
‘Well keep away, he’s mine for now’, Steph said a little to loudly, ‘I mean, we’re kinda helping eachother out’, she fixed herself up quickly, but not quick enough for the words she said before to register in Tre and Billie Joe. The two of them looked at eachother in total shock.
‘Hey you wouldn’t happen to know where Laura’s going to be tonight would you?’, Steph asked.
‘Laura......oh you mean airhead-blonde-bubbly Laura?’. Steph nodded.
‘Movies, The Crown most likely. How come?’, Shay asked her, ‘Why do you wanna know?’.
‘Oh no reason’, Steph said, walking out of the house, ‘See you later boys’, she called out closing the door behind her. Billie Joe and Tre stood looking at eachother in total shock still for a further moment.
‘You’re hers’, Billie Joe let out quietly.
‘She’s mine’, Tre said quickly.
‘You’re going to the crown’, Billie Joe added.
‘Oh My God, this is going to work’, Tre squealed in happiness.
‘Okay, Okay, we have to be realistic now’, Billie Joe said, snapping out of the dream world.
‘Yeah, we do. I stuff this up and everything’s ruined’, Tre mumbled kind of clearly.
‘Okay now we’ll need Jason and Mike’s help for this. You have to be the most perfect you, you can ever be’, Billie
Joe told him smiling. Tre smiled back. This was all in the bag all Tre had to do know was let Laura see him with Steph and it had all worked. The plan would be pulled off.
