Angels Do Exist, chapter 3
"Dude, this is not good," Billie said to Mike. Aaron came back with a 'back-off-and-I'm-not-afraid-to-kill-you' look at Mike. Tre' all looked around to see everyone staring at them, the crazy brunette named Ashley looked around and yelled out, "everyone get back to eating your lunch." Everyone kept staring, Ashley got angry, "NOW!" she screamed and everyone went back to their lunch.
"You're in some deep crap, barely anyone can get Kiara angry," Aaron said. Ashley and the other girl, named Danielle, nodded sadly.
"Wow, I guess we don't know that much about her," Billie said quietly. Aaron looked at them all, "you don't know her at all you bunch of newbies!" he screamed, making everyone scared. The three stared to go in order of talking, from Aaron, to Ashley, to Danielle. They began describing Kiara behind her back.
"She's a rebel," Aaron started.
"She's a saint," Ashley continued.
"She's the salt of the earth," Danielle said warningly.
"But she's dangerous," she continued. All three of the boys were freaked out by this little performance and could feel their eyes widening.
"She's the one they call old Whatsername," they heard a voice say. All six looked at the owner of the voice. It was Kiara. Mike was the first one to run to her, arms open wide and held her in an embrace. She resisted but he just held her tighter.
"You asshole," she whispered.
"I know," he whispered back. All resistance was gone and Kiara was a limp body in Mike's arms. She collapsed and Mike picked her up. Aaron held his arms open to take her but Mike held her tighter, as if he would lose her if he didn't hold her tight. Billie walked at the right side of Mike, Tre' on the left. They had to ask around to see where the nurse was and finally found it. The nurse looked at them, then at Kiara, and the only thing out of her mouth was "oh dear."
All three boys waited, and waited until Kiara came out with an ice bag on her head. She smiled at all of them. Tre' Cool looked like he was about to cry, Billie was expressionless, Mike was already at tears when he first got at the nurse's office and hadn't noticed Kiara's being there. She put down the ice bag and ran her fingers through Mike's hair, gently. He looked up and he started crying even more. "Stop it now, there's been enough blood and tear shed for today," she whimpered.
They all looked at her strangely, blood shed? She nodded quickly and lifted her shirt to show her stomach. There were knife marks on there.
"It seems, Mike, that Hayley thought you did love her, did you?" she asked and Mike shook his head, unwanted memories of this day's past flooding back.
"Love is complicated, there's a difference between love and lust, one is desire and pleasure and pure instinct, the other is a feeling that can not be described by words," Tre' said, who was quiet until now. Billie Joe put his arm around his shoulders and smiled. "I have an excuse to go home, you boys are lucky, you're my official escorts to my house, which is about 5 minutes walk from here," Kiara said. The boys nodded and helped Kiara hobble to her house. It was a small, yet cozy house, obviously a smoker's house.
"You're lucky my father isn't home, he would freak!" she laughed.
"Ever had a boyfriend?" Mike asked. Kiara nodded, obviously confused, "how'd your dad react?" he asked nervously, not wanting to be the next meal on the table or head on the wall. Kiara laughed very loudly.
"He disappeared out of no where," she said in a spooky tone. Mike raised his eyebrow and Kiara cackled. The phone rang, it was Aaron, probably using school's phone.
"Where in the world are you girl!?" he screamed into the phone.
"Calm down buttwipe, I'm at the house with the boys."
"Oh, ok then, well be careful, keep being a virgin." She giggled again and hung up.
"It was Aaron," I simply said and the boys nodded.
"Ok, well we need to go," Mike said. Kiara grabbed his hand, "please don't go, please." He looked at her eyes and couldn't help it, he stayed. Her father never came home, "meh, I hate my dad." Mike looked at the clock, 10:30 p. M.
"Aren't we supposed to go to bed?" he asked.
"No school tomorrow," Kiara said and he just raised his eyebrows.
"Stay the night, please," she said, he nodded and fell asleep with Kiara in his arms.
