"We had a fight after that, I came really close to telling you but I didn't. I couldn't because it was obvious we were really just using each other until something better came along. So I let you go."
Mom gave a weak smile.
"My parents found out I was pregnant again, I had a huge fight with them and they decided that I had to go back to England, I but told them I would only go if I could take you with me. They reluctantly agree. My parents were very proud people, image was everything to them so I became shunned by them but I didn't really care I was never the person they wanted me to be. So I went to England and had Amy. My aunt made me contact you, when Amy was 3. She said I should get child support as I was working two jobs and my aunt was the one really bring up the children, so I tract down your number and called you."
Mom looked up at Billie.
"I must of really scared the shit out of you that day!" Mom smiled
"Well it was weird to think I had a kid all that time and never knew. I really want to see you but Adie was pregnant and I couldn't leave her."
"But you had no trouble leaving my Mom" I huffed
"But I didn't know!" Billie protested.
"Its not his fault it was mine he had a right to know and I didn't tell him"
"But then I found Danny and he was so nice to start off with. We got married and decided to go back to America. That's went I fell pregnant again, but I had a miss carriage... After that it was like Danny was bipolar. He would have mood swings and he started to drink. Things got bad I guess. I thought he never touched you. I mean he was always beating me I though he never.... I don't know what I thought."
"Well you should have thought harder, couldn't you see we were shit scared of the man? You don't know half that shit he did to us." I snapped back.
"I know honey!" Mom soothed
"No!, you could never know!" Alexis butted in before I had a chance to reply.
I just hung my head in a moment of reflection.
***Flash Back***
SLAP.
The sound of flesh hitting flesh rang through the house making me and Alexis quiver in our hiding space.
Danny had come home yet again drunk.
"Your place is in the home looking after your bastard children" Danny's strong roar filled the room.
"You know I have to go to work Danny, I have to pay for everything even your God damn drink!" Mom retorted that resulted in another slap.
"Then get out of my fucking sight women before I really hurt you!" Came the voice that made me shudder and cling tightly to my older brother.
We both heard the door slam, and exchanged a worried glance.
"Amelia" Called a slurred voice.
"Amelia honey, where are you?" Danny beckoned in a tone that made anyone's skins crawl
"Amelia" He called as if humming to a tune.
"Come out, come out where ever you are?"
I didn't even attempted to move and held my breath. I wished more than anything in the world that I could curl up in to a ball of nothingness and be gone forever.
"I'll give to the count of fucking 10 to come out or you will be really fucking sorry!" Danny's voice barked.
The last comment made the breath in my throat hitch. I buried my head into Alexis's chest as tear dribbled down my face.

I increased my grip on Alexis.
We both knew what Danny meant. I looked up to Alexis all wide eyed.

I gave Alexis one last hug.
"3"
I slowly pulled away from my older brother but Alexis pulled me back.
"4"
"I'll go" Alexis whispered with a soft smile, but his eyes reflect fear.

"Alexis NO!" I croaked.
"6"
He shook his head and gave my hand a little squeeze, and then he pulled me into another hug.
"7"
"Stay here until I came back and get you." He whimpered into my ear.

I nodded my head slowly. Alexis smiled warmly at me before separating from me and slowly walking over to the closet door. I watched fearfully as he open the door and disappeared.

"Here I am Danny." Alexis voice was soft and clashed against Danny's rough voice.
"Are you fucking deaf! Did I even call you!" Danny raged
Slap.
Followed by a yelp of pain.
I shut my eyes tight and covered my ears with my hands, wishing I was far away, but the sound of reality hit me and I could no longer escape.
"Please Danny" I could here Alexis beg.
I was 12 at the time and I wasn't dumb, I knew exactly what Danny was doing to my older brother because he had done it to me. I knew what my brother was doing for me, and I was truly grateful.
"Please Danny, No" Alexis cried
I kept my eyes shut and felt around for my CD player which I found and I plugged into. '2000 Light Years Away' came on. I really wished I was 2000 Light Years Away.
I turned up the volume to the max and curled up into a ball. Tears dribbled down my damp face as I let Green Day drown out the sound of abuse.
