Recap

Mike just looked at her when a sudden gust of wind overtook Songbird and lifted her up. She smiled and laughed.

"I love you too big brother."

End Recap

"Who's Whirlie?" Mike asked.

"What?"

"In your thing with your brother, who's Whirlie?"

"Oh, Whirlie was my grandfather's name, he's the one that gave me my wings, and taught me how to use them."

"Interesting."

Mike shivered from the gust of wind that came quickly and because it was late and the draft was coming in. Songbird felt his shivers on her delicate wings and pulled him closer to her and covered him with her wings. He felt the soft feathers and smiled when she put her other wing around herself so she would be cold either so they sat like that, with Songbird's wings around both of them.

"I think we should head back, Yeeyo's tired," Songbird said after an hour.

"Ok," Mike replied. Songbird sat up and stretched her wings at full length. Mike was absolutely amazing oh how big her wing span was, it was about seven feet on each wing. The ends of her wing tickled his neck and he cringed a little.

"Man, tomorrow I have colorguard practice tomorrow," Songbird whispered.

"Huh?" Mike asked.

"Nothing, it's just that I have colorguard practice tomorrow, wanna come watch?" she asked him.

"Um, sure why not?" Mike smiled. Songbird smiled and ran across the ledge and jumped off and instantly got some air.

I wonder if I should tell her now? Mke wondered to himself.

"Songbird!" he yelled. Songbird swooped down to him and give him a look that said 'what?'

"I really need to tell you something," he sighed. Songbird gave him the sad eyes that said 'what are you doing to me?'

"You know how me and Billie and Tré have Green Day? And we even have our record out and everything?" Mike asked. Songbird nodded seriously.

"Well... we're going on tour, but the bad thing is... we can't bring anybody."

She didn't say anything, Songbird just ran off the ledge and swooped down again, but she didn't come back up. Mike looked over the ledge, she was free falling, she was almost a torpedo. As she fell more and more towards the earth, Mike became more and more scared for her life.

She pulletted down to the rock solid ground, she felt the right time when to spread out her wings so she could catch herself. Wait for it, wait for it, she thought, then she felt it, now! Then she felt herself being lifted up, she didn't know what she just did or why she did it. But there was something about it that was almost calling to her.

Is Mike really going to leave me? she thought. Then she thought on how selfish she had been.

"Listen Mike, I don't care really I don't, ok? But I think if you're going to be a big rock star, maybe we should... I don't know, just be friends?" she asked him after they had discussed all of the arrangements.

"Um, I think I would like that," he smiled at her, but really his heart shattered into a million pieces.

"OK, I'm going for a little late night flight, I'll see you later ok?" she said while giving him a sad smile.

"Ok, I'll see ya later Birdie."

Songbird left the room and Mike felt a weird vision coming on.

This must be something new to my telling the future thing, ok, Songbird said to just go with it.

He saw a vision of a boy, he was shooting flames at aligned targets, he only looked about eight years old. Then he saw a shadowy figure of someone with wings and another person, it was shorter then the figure and had wings on her back. Then he saw himself, he saw himself hugging another girl, it was the shadowy figure. Then the boy sprouted wings and flew right into his arms. He fell down and started laughing, then this overwhelming of happiness surrounded him, he had never felt happier.

Songbird flew by the window and saw Mike sitting on the bed smiling. He's having a vision, she said to herself, I wonder what it's about?

Songbird came into the room, and it kind of shook Mike.

"Back already? You just left," he said.

"I've been gone for two hours Mike," she replied.

"Do visions always last forever?"

"Visions are kinda like dreams, you feel like it's been five minutes, but it ends up being about two hours."

"Ok, well I need to get to sleep, I'm leaving tomorrow."

"Really?"

"Yep."

"Well, ok then."

***

"I'll miss you guys," Songbird said while hugging Mike. He smelled so good, Songbird thought.

"Listen Songbird, I don't think this whole just friends is going to work out, I want you so badly, I'll be back in four months, then I'm going to come and get you ok?" Mike asked her. Her heart almost left her when he kissed her passionately.

"I'm going to miss you so much," she said while tears were coming out of her eyes. He nodded and put his head on the crook of her neck. He almost cried too, but it was only going to be four months, nothing too long. Then they all got into the bookmoblie and started talking while Tré fell asleep.

"Listen Billie Joe, I had a vision, I need to know what it means," he said to him.

"I'll try," he said.

"Ok, there was a little boy and a little girl, they were only about eight years old, the boys had fire powers and wings, the girl just had wings, at least of what I could tell, and there was a shadowy figure, who also had wings, they were very large wings. Then the boy came and flew into me and I fell, I don't know what it means."

"Neither do I Mike, neither do I."
