She smiled and hugged him tightly. She adjusted her arms so she could hug him without having to move her wings.
"I've missed you," he whispered.
"I've missed you too," she whispered back.
"Songbird, may I introduce you to my beautiful wife Adrienne," Billie Joe said.
They shook hands, "call me Adie, please," Adrienne said.
"Don't hug me or anything!" Tré whined. Songbird smiled and hugged him too, but her wings covered him because it was uncomfortable.
"I'm going outside ok? I'm getting really cramped here," she told all three of them. She turned around and walked out the door, Aero close behind. Adie, Billie Joe and Tré followed her outside for some fresh air. She sat on the balcony and sighed and stretched out her wings. Adie seemed amazed on how wide her wingspan was.
It had grown an amazing amount, about eight feet on both of them.
"They're beautiful," Adie sighed. Songbird chuckled while she let Adie feel her wings, Adie was a little hesitant.
"They won't hurt you, you know? They're harmless," Songbird reassured her. Adie took the edge of a feather and felt it.
"I'm going flying for a little bit, you wanna join me? By the way, where's Mike, I thought I saw him?" Songbird asked curiously.
"You want to see him?" Billie Joe asked.
"Well yeah, I need to show him something important."
"Something, or someone's?" Billie Joe asked.
Oh shoot, he read my mind, I guess there's not denying it at all, but I need to find Mike.
"He's in there somewhere, we'll be right here, waiting for you," Tré said.
"Thanks, you guys," she smiled. She searched around for him until she finally saw him, leaning against the wall. She took a deep breath and walked over to him.
"Hey," she smiled.
"Songbird?" he asked. She nodded and took his hand and dragged him outside.
"What are you doing? No hugs, no kisses or anything?" he asked.
"You left me for fifteen years and you want a kiss?" she snapped. He kept his mouth shut and walked with Songbird.
"I need to show you something," she sighed.
"What? What's wrong Songbird?" he soothed her. She starting crying and everyone walked up to them.
"What did you do Mike?" Billie Joe said while hugging Songbird.
"I didn't do anything," Mike snapped.
"You guys, stop it, come with me, I want to introduce you to some people," she said while stepping off the balcony. She was free falling again, Adie looked over the edge and watched her.
"Isn't she going to crash or something?" she asked worriedly.
"Songbird's an expert as this kind of stuff, she'll be fine," Billie Joe reassured her.
Songbird was about two feet from the ground when she spread her wings.
"How the? What the... Holy..." Adie gasped. Green Day laughed and cheered while Songbird just smiled and everyone followed her. Billie Joe had to hold Adie while he flew since she didn't possess any power.
"This feels so good," Songbird sighed while turning on her back and looking at Adie, who was wide eyed with fear and excitement.
"You think I'm a freak now don't you?" Songbird laughed.
"Why would I think that?" Adie asked.
"Because of my little stunt, it's common."
"I'll admit that I thought you were crazy," she laughed.
"Who says I'm not?" Songbird laughed.
They arrived at the archery field, Aero showed up out of no where.
"Why are we," Tré asked, but Songbird clapped a hand over his mouth.
"Watch," she whispered. A body appeared out of the door and walked to the archery field, he also had wings but they were made of a strange nature, something different about them.
"Who's that?" Billie Joe asked.
"My son," Songbird replied.
"What are his wings made out of?" Mike asked.
"Fire, his real name is Drago, but he's Firebird to everyone else."
She whistled and the boy turned around and smiled.
"Hey Mom," he smiled.
"What's up man?" she smiled at him, she ruffled his hair and he fixed it so it made an organized mess. He had dyed his hair black, and he had his mother's green eyes, so he looked more like Billie Joe then anything. But then a girl came out, she was a real beauty.
She had dirty blonde hair, and she also had wings. Her blue eyes were almost transparent and her smile was enough to make the bitterest people, happy.
"What's up Mom? Who are these people?" the girl asked.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Angel, these are some of my old friends."
Green Day and Adie stepped out of the dark and the teenagers looked about ready to faint.
"Holy, Mom, do you know that's Green Day?" Angel said and half stuttered.
"No really, I just see their faces everyday in your room," Songbird laughed.
Angel blushed a deep red and tried to fly off but Songbird grabbed her ankle and didn't let go.
"Nah ah ah, don't be so shy Angel, say hello to my friends."
Firebird was already being a social butterfly and was talking to Tré about the importance of different brands of drums and drumsticks. Angel just shook hands with Adie and Billie Joe and they started to small talk.
"So, why did you want me to see them?" Mike asked Songbird, she pulled him aside so they were in the dark and couldn't be seen.
"Look at her Mike, what do you see?" she asked. Mike studied the girl and saw what she had meant. He looked at Songbird, he shook his head.
"They can't be," he simply said.
"They are Mike, like it or not," she sighed.
"You're just toying with me aren't you?"
"Look at them Mike, they are yours, Firebird acts so much like you it's not funny."
He sighed and rubbed his face.
"When are you going to tell them?" he asked.
"Tonight if possible."
"Tonight!?" Mike yelled. Songbird smashed her hand to his mouth and he licks her hand.
"Gross," she laughed. They looked in each other's eyes and just hugged each other.
"I forgot how much I've missed you," she sighed.
"I'm so sorry Songbird, I understand if you don't forgive me for leaving you here with my children, and not even paying support," Mike sighed.
"Wow, never thought I would hear someone say that before," she laughed.
"Let's start all over ok?" he asked her. She nodded and hugged him tightly.
He took her chin in his hands and kissed her softly. She kissed him back and this feeling overwhelmed him that made him want me. He sighed while he moved his arm around Songbird's neck and deepened the kiss.
"Mike, Songbird, we're going to get something to eat, you coming?" Billie Joe asked.
"One moment," Mike said while breaking away for a second.
"Either you're coming now or we're going without you!" Firebird yelled. Mike chuckled, "I see what you mean."
Everyone flew back to the balcony and Aero had followed them to there.
"So, where are we going?" Angel asked.
"Aero, hush," she said. Billie Joe took one look at her and she smiled. He laughed while he opened his arms.
