The Time Has Come, chapter 2

"Good Morning!" I loudly exclaimed to Emily as I went down the stairs to the kitchen, "How was your sleep?"

"It was, reasonably good" she replied, "Although I had all the 'getting used to' feelings as you do whenever you move, but other then that it was great!"

"How about we go for a drive" I said,

"Sydney early morning traffic is pretty hectic!" she replied,

"Umm... . Well let's just look around the building!" I said,

"Ok, lets go!" she replied.

We ventured off out of out the front door and looked around the building, this would probably take until lunchtime seeing as the building had about 50 floors, and it was only 8 am. We decided to take the stairs, instead of the lift, because we figured we could learn the building better.

Every level was pretty much the same, except for the leisure level, where there was a gym, spa, sauna, small pool, and just a chill out place, which I think was included in our rent, the ground level, which was used for maintenance, the car park, and the roof. Surely enough, by the time we got back to the apartment it was lunchtime, we decided to go out for lunch, so we got our gear and drove down to the harbour side to eat lunch. One of the carers at the orphanage had given us a discount voucher to Doyle's in the harbour, so we decided to eat there.

When we had finished lunch, we went for a walk around the city, and did some sightseeing, like the harbour bridge, the opera house and Centre Point tower, which was amazing, you could see everything from up there. We then went on a dinner cruise in the harbour, seeing as it was nearing dinnertime.

We boarded the cruise, and found a table on the deck around the boat, they were playing some dinner music, which sucked, and then a waiter came over and took our orders.
"I will have the Barramundi fish in lemon sauce, with vegetables at the side" I ordered,
"and I will have the same thanks" said Emily with a smile on her face.
"Any drinks?" said the waiter,
"Um... I'll just have a diet coke please," I said,
"and I will have a normal coke thanks" said Emily,
"Ok! It should be no more then 20 minutes, enjoy!" said the waiter, as he walked off back into the main part of the boat. In the meantime, we just talked about our apartment, and how good all the additions were, and the bedrooms and just covered everything. Finally, the waiter brought us our meals, and just as we were about to put the fish into our mouths we heard a large bang, the music stopped and all the electricity went off, which was than followed by an ear-piercing scream. Than all of a sudden I could feel water at my feet, the boat was sinking!
"Quick! We have to put on our life jackets and jump over the side! I don't think they have any life boats!" I said,
"Ok!" Emily acknowledged, and we both jumped over the side of the boat, and began to swim to the shore, luckily we had both been taught how to swim before we went to the orphanage. We were both back on the land when we heard a loud explosion, followed by many more screams, and a loud gunshot! The police boats in the harbour all zoomed right over to the boat, and then a large tugboat came in, and supported the boat so it wouldn't sink. Emily and I walked to the train station, and went to put our tickets into the machine when we realised that they were wet, so we went to the guard and tried to explain, but he said we have to pay again, because the tickets were destroyed. I went to the machine to get another ticket, but I put my hands into my pockets, and realised I had no money, so we began the walk home; it was only about 6 kilometres away. When we arrived back in the apartment, we found a bunch of flowers and a few gifts in our doorway, each saying 'Welcome!' I shoved them through the door, while Emily went upstairs and had a shower, when she was done I went and had one, I could feel the harbour water burning my skin, from all the pollution. When I had finished, I found myself starved, we had no tea, and so we ordered pizzas. They came about an hour later, and we were so starving we demolished it in five minutes! I then almost fell asleep, so I went upstairs and lay in my bed, the end to a adventurous and exciting new day, in my new life.
