"I would never think twice about him...would I?", chapter 4
That night, I lay on my bed, gazing up at the ceiling and surprisingly thinking of Billie. Some good thoughts, but then bad thoughts would trample all over them again.I was startled from my thoughts when my phone suddenly beeped with a message. 'LOOK OUTSIDE YOUR WINDOW' it said.
Puzzled, I stood up and went over to my window. I pulled back the curtains and could make out a shadowy figure, illuminated by the moonlight. The figure was holding up a banner of some sort, then suddenly the out door light switched on and the figure was lit up. It was Billie.
As my eyes adjusted to the light, I managed to figure what was written on the banner. 'Sorry, come down and meet me'. The banner said in bright white. I stepped back from the window and crept out into the hall and satisfyingly, I could here soft snores coming from my mother's room. I tip-toed down the stairs and went out the front door to an eager Billie.
"Billie what the fuck are you doing outside my house at 2:00am?" I whispered, goose bumps appearing on my skin as soon the cold night breeze passed over it.
"To apologize for being such an asshole" Billie said, looking into my eyes.
"Whatever Billie, you're an asshole and you know it," I said, turning my back on him to go inside.
I was stopped by his arm reaching out and grabbing mine. I turned round and immediately he pressed his lips to mine. I could feel warmth spread over me and colors flashed behind my eyes. I wrapped my arms around his neck and snuggled into him as we broke away. Perfect just perfect.
"Mae, I really am sorry and won't do anything to hurt you," Billie said.
I pressed my forefinger onto his lips to signal that he didn't need to say anything. I rested my head on his chest and we stood there, his arms around me, under the stars and 2:00am. Neither of us had a care in the world.
Perfect...
