"Tell me who you love!", chapter 10
Cassie scurried down the corridor, trying to look for Melissa and Ali. She checked in every room and by the time she came to the last room she started to worry. She pushed the door open and found Billie sat at a table, a phone at hand.
"Hey," Cassie squeaked, the thoughts of the kiss she had shared springing back to mind.
"Oh hi," Billie mumbled, looking up at her. This was it, she thoughts to herself. She couldn't take it any longer. She was fed up of him giving her the cold shoulder. Where had her best friend gone?
She walked up to him and pulled him up by the shirt. She closed her eyes and leaned in. They kissed properly this time. Cassie was feeling a mix of emotions swirl around her head like juice in a blender. Billie was the first to break away.
"What?" Cassie asked.
"I can't Cassie, I'm sorry," Billie said simply, stepping away.
"Billie I've had enough! I see you after 18 years and you're totally blanking me. I want my best friend back. I want to be able to have a laugh with you, talk to you and just be with you again!" Cassie shouted. "But obviously it's too much trouble and I can tell that I'm not wanted" She added, turning around to go back out.
Billie was quick to act; he pulled her back and gave her another kiss. This one didn't last as long but it still sent Cassie into waves of pleasure.
Billie pulled away once again, holding her hands and looking into her eyes.
"Tell me Billie, I'm confused as hell right now" Cassie said, confused. Billie put his finger to her lips.
"I love you Cassie and I don't want to hurt you" Billie said quietly. Cassie shrugged and rested her head on his chest.
Billie's P.O.V
I feel Cassie's soft breathing as I hold her close. I really care about her, love her in fact but I just can't bring myself to telling her that I've moved on. That I'm married. But seeing Cassie again just brought a new shock of love to my system.
I realized how much I love her and want her. She'd never know. But I still love Adrienne, of course. I couldn't love anyone more but Cassie has always been the one for me.
I sure hell am confused right now.
"Cassie, how about we go and find Melissa and Ali then go over to my place for a catch up or something," I suggest.
"Yeah, sure but Ali and Melissa will have to stay home because they're going to a college preview thing tomorrow so they need to be up early so don't want them partying or whatever tonight" she replies, looking into my eyes. I feel my stomach do a flip again.
"Right ok, well lets go find them anyway, oh and Cassie, let's keep quiet about this ok?" I say, making sure nothing is going to get passed on.
"About what?" she asks.
"Us." I say simply, smiling.
"Sure." she replies, giving me a peck on the cheek.
Cassie's P.O.V
I'm so glad Billie has come to his senses. It's so nice to be around him again and it still hasn't sunk in that he could still love me after all these years. But there is still one thing at the back of my mind. Tre. What will he do if he finds out? Well I love Billie now and that's that, no one can change my feelings for him. Yes that's settled.
Out of Cassie's P.O.V
Cassie and Billie managed to find Melissa and Ali after searching the place up and down. Then they all set off back to Cassie's house to drop them off.
"You will be alright wont you?" Cassie asks the pair of them.
"Yeah mum, we'll be fine," chorused the pair.
"Maybe I should stay and make sure you're alright," Cassie says, getting out the car.
"No! Mum, go and have your little catch up with the guys. As jealous as I am of you I still want you to go and have a good time" Melissa insists pushing her mum back in the car.
"Fine, call me if you need anything!" Cassie shouted out the window as they whizzed of back to Billie's house.
"I still can't believe we are driving in a car with Cassie again!" Tre squealed.
"I know, it's just like old times" Billie replied, secretly placing a hand over Cassie's.
"You've changed your tune," Tre said, turning around to face Billie.
"Yeah, well maybe I've realized how much I missed Cassie" he replied, winking at Cassie.
"Tre, watch it, we're going to end up dead together if you don't watch it." Mike says, grabbing Tre and forcing him back round to look where he's going.
"Oh yeah sorry, forgot I was driving." he says.
"How the hell can you forget you are driving a car?" I ask him, confused.
"He does it a lot, don't worry," Billie replied. I laugh as Tre attempts to hit Billie without turning round. Just like old times.
