"Tell me who you love!", chapter 3
The next day at school, Billie seemed to be in a strange mood, which puzzled Cassie.
"Billie, wait up!" She shouted down the corridor as she spotted Billie turning from his locker. He stopped and looked to see who had called him. When he saw it was Cassie his face clouded and started to turn away. Cassie caught up with him, and grabbed him by the arm to make him stop.
"Billie, what's up?" Cassie asked, concerned for her friend.
"Nothing, just leave me alone" Billie said.
"If it's nothing then I'm the bloody queen of England. Look Billie, I have been your friend all my life and I should think by now I am capable of telling when something is wrong with you" Cassie said, placing a warm hand on his shoulder. He looked at her with sad eyes. Something was definitely up.
"I saw you two at the parlor last night" He said flatly.
"Me and Tre? But why would you have a problem with that?" Cassie asked.
"I saw you kiss him Cassie!" Billie shouted.
"Billie I didn't-" Cassie was cut off.
"Look, no need to explain, all I can say is that I knew you loved him, but why lie to me?" Billie asked, and then turning away and heading off down the corridor. Cassie stood their, confused as to why he reacted this way. It hurt her, that her own best friend disowned her at a time like this. He didn't even know the full story.
At break time, Cassie went to find Tre and tell him what happened. She figured she should leave Billie alone for a while to let the dust settle. She looked all down the corridors, in every class room and in the quad, yet no sign of Tre at all. She decided she would try one last time in the hall to look for him.
As she came closer to the hall, she could hear a lot of cheering and yells from inside. When she entered, she saw a big crowd of people gathered around some sort of fight. But it wasn't just any old fight. It was Billie and Tre.
Cassie ran over to the bundle, and pushed her way through people, trying to reach the two. By the looks of things, Billie had won this fight before it was even started. Tre was all battered up, with a black eye and he looked like he was running out of energy.
"Fuck! Tre! Billie!" Cassie shouted with all her might. The two didn't hear, but carried on wrestling each other to the ground. Cassie decided to get in there. She dodged some flying arms and made a grab for Billie's shirt, pulling him off of Tre with force. She dragged him away, ignoring his shouts for her to get off of him. She sat him down on a chair at a deserted table in the corner and looked him in the eye.
People had followed them, and were starting to gather round, but Cassie didn't care.
"Billie, what the fuck were you doing to Tre?" Cassie demanded. Billie looked at the ground.
"Look at me when I'm talking to you Billie!" She shouted.
"He hurt you Cassie! I couldn't let him get away with that, I care for you Cassie!" Billie said sternly.
"It was one kiss, which Tre didn't even mean to do, he misunderstood me that's all" She replied soothingly.
"But, the stupid mother fucker knows I-" Billie finished.
"You what?" She asked.
"I love you Cassie" Billie said. Cassie was shocked, he loved her?
"Please say something" Billie urged.
"Billie... "
