"Tell me who you love!", chapter 7
Ever wondered how one kiss could lead to a huge mistake? Ever had a kiss that can change the rest of your life forever? Cassie did, and boy did she regret it.
The two broke apart quickly, neither knowing what had just happened.
"Sorry, just haven't... yeah well... Got to go... concert... crowd... yeah... bye," Billie let out, not making eye contact and pushing past Cassie.
Cassie stood there, watching Billie scurry down the corridor. Watching him walk away from her like that hurt her immensely, thoughts of how stupid she had been when she left him that day at school rushed to her head.
Cassie felt a hand on her shoulder and she turned around to see Tre looking at her. They looked into each other's eyes. Cassie's hazel eyes and Tre's ice blue eyes connected. Warmth filled Cassie, yet a cold tear rolled down her cheek.
"Tre I'm so sorry," Cassie said. Tre pulled her close and embraced her in a hug, rubbing her back soothingly.
"I have just missed you so much Cassie, where did you go? You were the only one person that could understand me at times, you were my best friend and fucking hell I love you Cassie," Tre said rather quickly.
"Tre, I got to go, Melissa and Ali are waiting in the crowd for me. How about I wait for you at the side of the stage at the end of the show and we can catch up or something?" Cassie asked, holding Tre's hand.
"Yeah I'd like that Cassie," Tre said quietly, a small smile spreading across his face.
Cassie let go of Tre's hand and walked down the corridor leading to the crowd. She looked back one last time at Tre and smiled. A small flutter filled her stomach, watching him stood leaning against the frame of the door, hand in his pocket and wearing the most beautiful smile you have ever seen.
Cassie skipped down the stairs and was hit with a huge screams coming from thousands of people in front of her. A lot of people looked her way, looking at her enviously. Cassie pushed past people and finally found Melissa and Ali, who were squished up against the barrier at the front of the crowd.
"Mum! Where the hell have you been?" Melissa screeched, grabbing hold of Cassie's hand and pulling her next to them.
"Just went to get a drink that's all," Cassie lied, looking towards the stage where she could see Billie, Tre and Mike stood at the side.
"I can't fucking wait!" Ali shouted, craning his neck so he could see towards the side of the stage.
"Ali, language." Cassie said.
"Mum! We are at a bloody Green Day concert, where every fucking word is swearing and you expect me to be Mr. squeaky clean?" Ali said in disgust. He had a point.
"Ok, fine but just as soon as we get home you get back to 'Mr. squeaky-clean' as you so put it," Cassie said.
She looked back to where the band was standing. She watched Billie carefully. He was stood jumping up and down, swinging his arms, and bracing himself for the show to come. He looked up and caught her eye. Cassie smiled, but Billie just looked away quickly, pretending he hadn't seen her. Why was he giving her the cold shoulder? Was it Cassie's imagination or hadn't he only just kissed her?
Music started up and immediately the crowd went ballistic. Cassie watched, as Tre, Mike and Billie ran onto stage. Billie, with a cheeky grin on his face, Mike striding up to his place, gripping his bass and as usual, there was the different one. Tre. He ran over to his drum set and started waving his sticks up in the air.
It was weird seeing her old friends up on a huge stage with thousands of people screaming their names. It was such a change from 3 scruffy, punk boys with not a care in the world, to 3 tall, muscular men, who were loved by thousands. How they had changed so much through the years and how Cassie felt so bad to have missed out watching her friends grow up.
A song started up and Cassie was pushed back and forth into the barrier as people behind her jumped around like loonies. She watched for the next 2 hours, her small crazy friends jump around the stage, screaming, shouting and just rocking out. Yet they weren't small anymore. They may still be crazy but they're certainly not small anymore. And were they her friends anymore? Only time could tell.
One song happened to be one song Cassie actually recognized. It was a song the boys (or shall I say men now) had started up when they were at school. During this song, for some reason the guys had a thing about throwing things into the crowd. Billie was throwing picks and Tre was throwing his drumsticks. Cassie watched as they flew into the air, spinning and then as soon as they headed towards the crowd there was a huge scramble as people fought over them. Cassie watched as one pick caused such a bundle that it caused everyone to fall over. Cassie laughed to herself, watching the people behind her fall over in a heap.
She was so interested in the bundle that she hadn't had time to dodge a flying drumstick, heading her way. She turned around and was met with a sharp piece of wood on the head.
"Cassie!"
