Reagan? Weird name for a girl., chapter 1
"Reagan, get off! God you weigh like 200 pounds!" Reagan looked at her brother, looking rather offended. "Ok, first off, 102 pounds. Secondly, I'm NOT getting off of you because the bus stop is just ahead of you, dumb ass." Josh sighed. He continued carrying his sister down to the bus stop, only to find three boys standing there, looking kind of cold, for it was December in Minnesota.
Josh plopped his sister on the ground and looked at the three boys. Reagan landed with a thud right on her ass. One boy, with jet-black hair turned around quickly, startled by the noise. "Oh, hey, sorry about that. Are you guys new here?" By then, Reagan had gotten off the ground and glared at her brother. She dusted herself off and turned to the new kids. "Hi. I'm Reagan and this fucker over here is Josh. What's your name?" Josh looked at her, offended. The new boy chuckled. "Hi. I'm Billie Joe. This is Mike and Tre." He pointed behind him, revealing two boys, who seemed to shiver slightly because of the cold. They waved.
Billie cleared his throat awkwardly. "Well, it's nice to meet you guys. Is it always so fucking cold here?" Reagan smiled. "No, it's December. It gets kinda cold around that time in Minnesota. Where are you guys from?" Tre butt in. "We are from California." Reagan looked at Josh. Josh looked back. "Is that important in any way?" Tre asked, a little puzzled. "No." Reagan said quickly. "We've been to California. Just thinking about the um.... memories." Tre eyed her suspiciously. Then the bus came.
Josh and Reagan got on followed by the three boys. "Aaaah, sweet, sweet warmth." Tre said, and sat next to Reagan. Billie and Mike took the seat to the left of them. Josh went back with some friends. Reagan turned to the blonde one. "I haven't heard a word from you. You must be Mike." She shook his hand. "He's always quiet in the morning. He's tired." Billie said. Mike laid his head against the window and closed his eyes. Billie smiled. Reagan turned around to the boys sitting with Josh. "Hey, Tim. Get your new drum sticks yet?" One of the boys turned around. "Oh, hey, Reagan. Um... No I didn't. How about you?" Reagan nodded. "Yeah, I did. I wonder why yours didn't come yet." Tre looked at her. "You play drums?" She looked back at him. "Yeah, and guitar. And flute when I was younger. But those days are long gone." Billie smiled, who, like Tre, was listening to her conversation.
A red- haired boy looked at Billie and his friends. "Reagan. These guys new?" "Uh, yeah. This is Billie, Tre, and the sleeping one is Mike." Billie and Tre waved. "That's Kevin. And that one is Tim and that's Ron." She pointed to each of the boys sitting with Josh. The bus turned into the school's parking lot. "Come on, guys." Reagan said to Billie and Tre. "Let's wake up Mike and go get your schedules." Billie punched Mike in the arm. Mike jolted awake. "What the fuck?" "Come on, sleeping beauty, we're at school." Billie said, smirking. Reagan giggled. Mike groaned and they got off the bus.
They went into school and Reagan guided them into the school office. The secretary looked at them. "Aaah, hello Miss O'Riley. What can I do for you?" She said in a cutsie voice. "Hi. I need you to get these boys some schedules. They're new." The secretary surveyed the three boys. "Oh, you must be..." She reached in an envelope and pulled out three cards. "Mr. Armstrong, Mr. Pritchard and Mr. Wright. Here you are." She handed them to Reagan and she nodded. She looked at the schedules. "Looks like we have a lot of classes together-" "O'RILEY!" They all whirled around to a booming voice. A very tall man was looking down at them. To Billie's surprise, Reagan grinned. "SHERMAN! I don't have you until third and fourth hour, until then, you can't tease me at all." The teacher (obvioulsy named Mr. Sherman), smirked at her. "That wasn't part of the deal, O'Riley."
She shrugged and was about to guide the boys out the door. Then a pen flew through the air and hit her square in the head. She whirled around and looked at the teacher, who covered his mouth, giggling. "I'm gonna get you. You just wait, Sherman." He waved his hands in front of his face. "Oh, I'm real scared." He laughed and went out the door. Reagan and the three boys followed. "Anyway, we don't have first hour together, but second hour through the rest of the day we do." Billie nodded. She led them up the stairs to their lockers. Hers was right next to Mike's. Billie and Tre's lockers were right across the hall. She opened hers, and the three boys opened theirs and dumped their books in them. "Ok. First hour doesn't start for 15 more minutes. So we can walk around and stuff."
They followed her to another girls' locker. "Hey, Katie. I want you to meet my new friends." A very tall girl turned and smiled. "Oh, hi I'm Katie." She held out her hand. Tre's shoulders sagged. "Augh, I'm getting tired of this. Hi, I'm Tre, this is Billie and this is Mike. There, you know us." He sighed. Katie gaped at them and Reagan giggled. "Don't sweat it, Katie, they're cool when you get to know them." She turned to Billie and winked. He blushed. "Well, well, well. Who are these fine boys?" They heard a voice behind them. Reagan winced. "Talisha." Reagan turned around and looked Talisha in the face. "What do you want?" Talisha smiled. "Now, now, Reagan. Let's not be mean. Aren't you gonna introduce us?" Talisha eyed Billie. "I take it you guys don't like each other." Billie said. Reagan nodded.
Talisha never took her eyes off of him. "Oh, I like this one." She said, Reagan made a face. "Ok, obviously you don't like her." Tre suddenly appeared. "And if you don't like Reagan, then we don't like you." Tre said in a little five-year old voice. He stuck his tounge out at her. Reagan laughed. Billie smiled and nodded. Talisha looked at Tre disbelievingly. "What did you say?" "I believe he said not to waste your time. Because we want nothing to do with you." Mike, who was silent until now, suddenly stood up for his friends. Talisha turned to Reagan. "You better watch it, O'Riley. He's mine." Reagan stared at her. Billie spoke up. "Excuse me? Did you not just hear what Mike just said? We want nothing to do with you. Get lost, bitch." Talisha gaped at him with her mouth open, then she snorted and walked away.
"YOU GUYS!!" Reagan looked at them all. "That was AWESOME!" She hugged them all. The bell rang. "Damn, we gotta go. But thank you guys so much, you're so sweet." They blushed. Tre and Mike went to their class. Billie stayed at Reagan's locker. "Hey, I was wondering if... you wanted to come hang out at my house after school today." Reagan smiled sweetly. "Sure, I'd love to." She pecked him on the cheek and hurried to her first hour. Billie floated to his class and took a seat next to Mike and Tre. "Uh-oh, Tre." Mike said, as he saw Billie enter the room. "I think BJ has a crush!" Billie looked at Mike and smiled. He did. He really, really did.
