Reagan? Weird name for a girl., chapter 20

-Billie's POV-
Tre stared at Mike and me. "Will someone please tell me what I did!?" he screamed. I glared at him.
"She fucking hates you because you're such a fag!!"
"Billie, stop it!" Mike said. "Tre's your friend, and-" Before Mike could finish his sentence, I pushed my chair out and walked outside. I found Reagan standing against the van, looking at the neighboring gas station.

"Hey," I said, standing next to her. She didn't say anything. "You ok?" She shrugged. "Are you going to say something?"
She sighed. "What's there to say?" She turned to get in the van, but I grabbed her shoulder.
"Wait-" She turned and looked at me. Shit! Nice going, Billie! Ah, say something. Anything!! "I still love you!" I blurted.
SHIT SHIT AND MORE FUCKING SHIT!! I clapped my hand over my mouth. She just stared at me. I felt myself go red in the face. "Ahem, I mean, Tre... loves you. Not, ah, me. Hehe." I looked at my feet, hoping I would fall down and die. I didn't hear her move. She didn't say anything, either.

"Billie..." she said slowly. "Did you just..." I chewed on my bottom lip.
"Yeah," I said quietly. "Um, yeah, I did."
She sighed and sunk down to the ground. She dug her head into her hands and let out a deep sigh. "What am I gonna do!?"
I sat next to her. "I didn't mean to... You know... Blurt it out like that." I looked at her, her head was still in her hands. "I meant it, though," I added quietly.
She finally looked up at me. "Billie, I don't think we can-"
"I know, I know. The whole Tre thing, I know."

We sat in akward silence for what seemed like forever. I sighed. "The only logical thing to do would be to murder Tre and hide the evidence."
She let out a soft laugh. "Yeah, right."

We turned and saw Mike coming out of McDonald's, holding Tre by the collar. "Someone has something to say," he said, throwing Tre at our feet.
Tre got up and brushed off his ass. He glared at Mike and looked back at us.
"Alright. I'm sorry for being such a fat pig and ordering all that food," he said unconvincingly. "Please except my apology and yadda yadda yadda, we're all happy now? Good! Let's go!"
He ran to the other side of the van and jumped in. Mike shook his head. "That boy will never learn."

I stood up and hoisted Reagan off the ground. We all hauled ourselves into the van and off we went.

I woke up the next morning to the smell of beer and crack. I sat up and clutched my temple.
"Ow," I said. I looked down, where I found Reagan, her arm tight around my waist. "Tre's gonna love this," I mumbled.

I looked over at Mike, who was sprawled along the driver's seat. I flopped back down onto my pillow and stared at Reagan. I smiled and pushed a piece of her hair behind her ear. I pulled myself closer to her and dug my head into her neck. I felt my eyelids go heavy as I fell asleep again.
