Locked in the Attic. (Joey and Jakob), chapter 5

Joey had a very light scaring on his cheek and was up and about in no time. He had a dressing on his face but it didn't seem to bother him. He was sitting on his bed one day in the children's ward when a sweet looking girl approached him. She was nice to look at. She had longish dark hair and tanned complexion and had a lovely smile. Joey was the first to speak.

"Hi. What's your name?" Joey said. She replied, "Lily. What's yours?" Joey looked at her for a second and replied casually, "Joseph, but you can call me Joey." Lily looked at what Joey was reading and said, "Can I join you please?"
Joey answered, "Sure. Sit here next to me."

So the two children sat and read the comic. It was called Radioactive Man. Joey loved this comic and although Lily wasn't that excited by it, she decided to sit and read it to be close to Joey. They read for what seemed like ages, then Joey suddenly spoke and it made Lily jump. "Shall we get a drink?" He said. Lily smiled and said "Yes. Shall we go to the canteen because I'm hungry too?" Joey nodded and they stood up.

They walked for about 15 mins before they reached the canteen and during that time they had a few laughs and Lily turned out to be quite a character. She kept running off and hiding and jumping out and Joey pretended to be scared. Of course he wasn't but it was fun to have such a nice person to chat to especially one as pretty as Lily.

They reached the canteen and Lily said to Joey, "I'll pay because my Dad gave me heaps of change and I wanna get rid of it," Joey smiled and said, "Well, I have money too so why don't I buy yours and you buy mine?" Lily smiled and pulled Joey to the counter where the food was. "I'll have fries, sausage and beans please. Joey will have the same as me." Before Joey could say anything, Lily planted a big kiss on his lips and giggled. Joey grinned and thought to himself, 'I really like this girl. '

After they had finished their lunch the headed back to the ward. Joey's Mum and Dad were there waiting. Whn Joey saw them he ran and threw his arms around them. They hugged for a long time and then when they finally parted, Joey turned and looked at Lily. "This is Lily. My girlfriend," Joey said proudly. "Hi. I didn't know I was Joey's girlfriend but I'm glad he likes me." Adrienne smiled at them both and said, "So what have you been up to? We have been here 20 minutes!" Before Lily could say anything, Joey said, "Well we went to the canteen and Lily bought my lunch and she kissed me." Lily at this point went slight red faced but smiled and replied, "Yes, I did and I totally enjoyed it!"

So the 4 of them sat on the bed and chairs and had a good time. All too soon it was time for Joey's parents to go. Joey was sad his parents had to leave but he understood. Just at that moment, the doctor walked in. He went straight to Joey's bed and said, "Hello, Joseph, Mr and Mrs Armstrong, Lily. It seems that Joseph is now able to go home if he wishes." Joey jumped off the bed and shrieked with delight. "Really? I can go home?! Yippee!" Lily looked at Joey and said, "Will I see you went I get out?" Joey replied, "Yes, but I can do better than that. I'll come and see you tomorrow." Lily smiled and planted anothe kiss on Joey's lips and he blushed slightly. "Ok, Let's pack." He said.

So they both frantically packed his bag but while Joey was putting things in Lily was taking them out. Joey grabbed a cushon and hit Lily with it. Lily retaliated by tipping his whole suitcase on the floor. The children burst into laughter and Billie and Adrienne smiled and laughed as well. They finally packed his bag, and were just leaving when Joey ran back to Lilie's bed and planted a smacker on her lips. She hugged him and as he left she waved after him. She ran down the corridor waving like a child possessed and Joey just waved back and smiled. They left the hospital building and got into the car.

Then they went home.
