Even the Sweetest Rose Has a Thorn., chapter 4

Estelle walked through the door and saw Paprika and Frankito, kissing. Everyone was around them why won't they say anything? She cleared her throat, not liking this PDA going on. The adults, Joey and Ramona, and Jakob all looked at her, but not Frankito and Paprika. She cleared her throat again, this time Paprika looked at her but Frankito didn't. Estelle nearly tore Paprika's hair out, Frankito was such the attention giver! Tre' pointed out Estelle and Frankito looked at her and blushed.

Frankito knew Estelle liked him, but she was so immature. She was a seven year old in a twelve year old body. Mike forgot, he had to tell Estelle.

"Hero, hun," he started, Estelle looked at him. "Paprika is your half sister," he stated. Estelle just grabbed her coat and walked out, no words, no actions to react, just walking away. Frankito looked at Paprika, her eyes expressed anger but her face was full of sadness and self loathing.

"I shouldn't have come," Paprika whispered while walking out the door. Frankito tried to grab her, but she was too fast. Billie Joe and Mike looked at Tre', who was looking at Frankito, lost and afraid, his light just walked out the door. Tre' finally gave up on having Frankito go after her and decided to do it himself.

He walked out the door and got into his car, there's no way she can outrun a car! He started the engine and shredded his car down the driveway. He found her, by a tree, huddled and alone. He made a sudden stop, nearly throwing him out the window if he hadn't been for his seatbelt. Tre' walked out of his car and felt an unexpected breeze, it was freezing out here, almost 20 degrees. She was by a tree, shivering, without a jacket.

"Why'd you leave?" he worked up the nerve to say.

"I don't belong," she whispered back. He bit his lip and wanted to say, "are you stupid! Frankito wouldn't like you if you didn't belong," but he didn't because she was already feeling bad enough.

"What makes you say that?" he replied while sitting by her.

"You don't know my life," she replied with no emotion or expression.

Tre' just put his arm around her shoulders, "you're right, I don't, why don't you share?" he said with a smile. Paprika tried to be angry, to scream but there was something about Tre' that made her happy. A happiness that she only shared with Dragon and Vulcan.

She started her story but she warned before, "don't try and say 'omigosh I'm so sorry, I totally understand,' because believe me, you don't so don't even try it." Tre' nodded and she continued.

"It was only about a year ago. Dragon, Vulcan and my mother are all.. interesting. Too put it lightly, they're all prostitutes, and addicts, drug addicts. They served the same people, drug dealers for their own drugs. Finally, the dealers got bored with them and refused to give them anything unless there was someone new. They couldn't think of anyone since the guy was straight and they only knew other guys. Then my mother thought of me, they dragged me down to their corner and got their drugs while I had to go the the guy's house. I kicked and screamed, refusing but he...pulled my shirt off and kicked me so I would shut up. And then he...he...knocked me out before I could refuse and I woke up to the sounds of voices. 'She was a little difficult, but she came 'round,' the guy said. Then a voice that I never wanted to hear again, spoke, my mother. 'She's like that, I'll have to get her home now,' my mother said, aggravated to have me home. She lifted me up and practically threw me in the car and drove home. We haven't spoken one, single word since then."

She stopped and cried, not bawling, she was weeping, a silent type of bawling. Tre' just looked at her and rubbed her back. "This was only a year ago?" he asked. She nodded and got up, her eyes were swollen, yet glassy and strangely beautiful.

No, this is a girl, not a woman or a young lady, a girl Tre' thought to himself as he stared into Paprika's eyes, they were brown with tints of orange around the pupils.

"Wanna head back?" I asked her. She nodded and we walked to the car and sat quietly then a rock song came on, well old eighties (I'm taking this from my other story.)

I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can so I can
Watch you live and breathe your storylines

And I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can so I can
Keep track of the visions in my eyes

While she's deceiving me
It cuts my security has
She got control of me
I turn to her and say

Don't switch the blade on the guy in shades, oh no
Don't masquerade with the guy in shades, oh no
I can't believe it
You got it made with the guy in shades, oh no

And I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can so I can
Forget my name while you collect your claim

And I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can so I can
See the light that's right before my eyes

While she's deceiving me
She cuts my security has
She got control of me
I turn to her and say

Don't switch the blade on the guy in shades, oh no
Don't masquerade with the guy in shades, oh no
I can't believe it!
Don't be afraid of the guy in shades, oh no
It can't escape you
'Cause you got it made with the guy in shades, oh no

I said I wear my sunglasses
I wear my sunglasses at night
Wear my sunglasses at night...

Her voice was pure music and paradise to Tre's ears. It made him almost, escape.

"Does anyone compliment your voice?" he asked Paprika.

She just shrugged, "people use lame ones, boys mostly trying to get my attention, saying my voice is paradise or something like that." Whoa, scary! Tre' just ignored it, well tried too. "Dragon always criticise me, although he always wants me to sing his song to him," she added. How could you criticize that?

They arrived back at the house, where Frankito was on the porch, with Estelle, kissing?
