Hey, Isnt That the New Kid?, chapter 6

The next day in first block I got a text from Billie asking if I wanted to skip classes with him after lunch.

"I dont know." I stared to text back, "Is anyone else going?" I pushed the send button and went back to taking notes while I waited for a reply.

"Not yet. Mike probably will, but I wanted to ask you first," was the reply.

I then quickly typed "I'll think about it, maybe Tre wants to skip is second day with us." I sent it only to get a reply that sounded angry. "Tre! I wasnt thinking about Tre, I just wanna know about you! No one else," it read.

"Wow, sorry, where would we go? We have no car or anything."

"The woods of course!" Billie texted back, he even added a little smiley face at the end. The texting keep on for awhile until I ended it with "Ok I'll do it. I'll meet you at the circle during lunch."

Later the bell rang and in the hall I saw Tre and told him about skipping and asked him if he wanted to come. Tre said yeah so I told him where to meet us and when.

Second period went by quickly, as usual, considering it was Computer Applications, meaning searching the internet all period and playing games when we finished our searches. As the class ended I went to lunch to grab some food. I scarffed it down and headed out to the 'circle' of school. On my way there I ran into Caiti who just got back from serving a lunch detention.

"Hey where are you going?" she asked in confusion.

"Oh, I'm going home, I dont feel good," I lied. I then continued to walk to the meeting spot while I felt Caiti's eyes on my back, staring at me like something was wrong. I ignored it as I continuded to head for the circle. When I got to the circle I saw Billie waiting.

"Billie," I said walking towards him. He looked at me and smiled, his gorgous green eyes smiling a little too.

"Im glad you decided to come," He told me as he leaned in for a hug. I hugged him like usual, while hugging him I saw Tre come towards.

"Hey guys! Are you ready to go?" he said as he reached us. Billie's smile faded as he turned around to see Tre looking right at him.

"Go where?" Billie Joe asked afriad of the answer.

"Skipping, duh" Tre replied with a goofy smile. Billie looked at me confused so I told him I invited Tre, a few seconds after I told him I regreted inviting Tre as I saw Billie's face grow sad. Billie then turned and started to lead us off campus. We headed towards the woods behind the school; Billie next to me and Tre sort of skipping a few feet in front.

"Are you ok?" I asked Billie.

"Yeah, sure, Im fine," he said kinda sarcastically.

"No your not, whats wrong?

"Nothin' Im fine I swear."

"Ok. Whatever," I said not wanting to talk about it anymore, but I could still tell something was wrong.

Finally we reached our destination, it was in the middle of the woods with tons of tree stumps that we could use as chairs. Billie was the first to sit down and I sortly followed, as for Tre, he wondered around looking at carvings and spraypaintings on the trees that other skippers have left behind. Most of it was from Mike, Billie, Caiti and I but I didnt bother telling him.

Tre finally sat down when Billie reached into the book bag he brought and pulled out a few beers.

"Nice Billie, Very nice!" I said as I reached for one.

"Thanks, but I only have four cans casue I wasn't expecting Tre to be here; so two of us will only get one can," Billie explained while handing a can to Tre.

"Oh, sorry," Tre said. Billie and I blew off Tres reply by shrugging our shoulders then opening our cans. Once we all finished our beer Billie Joe and I decided Tre can have the last can.

"Thanks guys!" Tre said really happy, like he just won the jackpot or something.

While Tre was drinking Billie and I walked to the end of the woods to see what was going on at school. As we stood on the edge of the woods we saw Coach Taylor and his class on the track but not much else. We watched the athletic kids run the track, and laughed at the fat lazy kids who just shuffled their feet to look like they were running.

"Why'd you invite Tre? I told you I wasn't thinking about him coming." Billie started while I was laughing at the sight on the track.

"Well I just figured since he was the new kid he'd want to expirence skipping with us."

"He could have done it some other time, plus I'm sure he skipped at his old school."

"I guess" I said while I shurgged my shoulders and rolled my eyes.

Billie then, in a soft shy voice, continued, "Yeah, well...I wanted to hang out with just you. Like we used to in middle school."

I laughed a bit thinking back to our middle school days. "Man those were good times! All the stupid things we did, Im surprised we're still alive or not in jail." I sighed then continued "We got in more trouble then then we do now...thats kinda odd. But thats beside the point; Billie we have more friends now,and we have fun as a group, plus, in middle school we were the only two punk kids. Right?"

"Yeah, thats true, but I..." Billie hesitated and looked around like he was trying to find the words in the air. While Billie was looking for the right words he saw a tall figure walking this way. He stared at the figure and squinted his eyes a little. I noticed his new focus and turned my attention to it as well "Who's that?" I asked.

"Its probably Mike, he probably got bored in class with out me." Billie Joe replied not too sure of his answer.

"Oh yeah, but does Mike ever wear all brown?"

Billie laughed "Mike wear all brown? I think not!"

"Umm Billie, then thats NOT Mike, that's a school deputy!" I said.

"Oh for fuck sake!! What do we do?"

"We'll only get in more trouble if we run, so I guess we wait for him to drag us back to school."

"What about Tre?" Billie asked while he looked towards the woods.

"Don't tell he's in there." I anwsered back also turning to the woods. I then faintly heard the deputy tell us 'don't even think about it', I guess since we were looking at the woods he thought we were going to run.

"What? Why?" Billie questioned this time facing me.

"He's the new kid, imagine how much the administrators would watch him if he's caught skipping on his second day," I explained looking into Billie's eyes.

"I guess your right." Billie said as he raised his eyebrows and got an unsure look on his face. I smiled at him and he smiled back. God I love his smile.

"Hey you two, you know your not supposed to be here!" The deputy said in a firm voice.

"Your not 'supposed' to be here either, you should be eating doughnuts and polishing your gun," Billie Joe snapped back.

"Excuse me young man?" You could tell the deputy was not happy with Billies remark, only because its probably true...I bet thats his weekend hobby.

"Yeah..." Billie started to say, but I quickly cut him off.

"Nothing," I then punched Billie in the arm and continued "lets just go back to school."

"Good idea" the deputy replied while grabbing Billie's shirt collar to drag him back, but he just made me walk in front of him, (because im a girl I guess). It was easy to see that the deputy thought he looked big and bad by having Billie by the collar, but Billie didn't care, he just smirked and went along with it.

I then turned to Billie and whispered "When I said 'wait 'till he drags us back'...I didnt think it would actually happen." Billie laughed a bit and winked in understanding.

As we headed back to the school I looked back at the woods wondering what Tre will do once he finds out we have 'mysteriously' disappeared.
