Tour of Our Lives, chapter 6
The next few days were just as bad. I'd get pissed, pass out, and repeat. If I didn't do that I'd just cry in my room. Right now, razorblades were my best friends. I couldn't stay away from them. Mike almost caught me with one.
"Um, why are you bleeding, and what are you holding?" he asked, narrowing his eyes, hoping it wasn't what he thought it was. I quickly responded. I showed him a fingernail.
"It's not blood, it's nail polish. It's spilled. I'm holding the brush." I said. Nice lie. Mike slowly nodded. I'm pretty sure he believed me, because he smiled at me.
"It's nice to see you again." He said, getting his jacket and walking out of the door. I smiled and sighed, washing the blood off of my wrist.
I sat down on my bed, with my iPod in my ears. One More Sad Song by The All-American Rejects was on. I sighed and let the music surround me.
One boy, one girl, two hearts, their world
Time goes by, secrets rise
I buried my face in my pillow as I shed a single tear.
One more, sad song, tears shed, she's gone
She'd take it back, if she only could
I started to shake as I sobbed. I quickly turned off the iPod. One more sad song was not what I needed. No pun intended. I picked up my head out of the pillow. There were faint voices in the other room. I couldn't hear them that well, but I could translate some of it.
"I miss Chelsea." Billie pouted. I heard some people agreeing.
"I'm setting her up with a blind date. I know it's fast, but this is the worst condition I've ever seen her in." I heard Kas sigh. I groaned and got up. I fixed my messy hair and went into the room they were in.
"No thanks." I muttered, getting a beer out of the fridge. Billie got up and took the sweet liquid away from me. I glared from under my reading glasses.
"I'm sorry Razz, I can't stand to see you like this. You're like family to me. We've lived together for three months." He pleaded. I sighed and gave in. Kas looked up at me.
"Please? My friend is like, in love with you!" he begged. I sighed and gave in.
"Alright, alright." I said, rolling my eyes. I looked up.
"Where is Michelle and Darren?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. They all looked away.
"Didn't you hear? They broke up. They weren't too sad about it, though." Sean said, scratching his neck. I slowly nodded.
"Is Darren staying?" I asked. Everyone nodded.
"He is still our friend." Tre said, opening his beer bottle. I wanted to pounce on him. I wanted alcohol. I sighed.
"I'm going to go on a walk, first I'm going to take a shower first." I said, walking into the bathroom. I got out my CD player and my demo tape. I had been working on some songs. The first one was about Nate. I turned on the water and at myself into the bath, letting the warm water soothe me.
Searching for anything I can find
To get you off my mind
Who am I kidding
The only thing I'm ridding
Of myself is my happiness
Nothing seems right
I'm thinking of anything
To get you off my mind
You're like a drug
I can't seem to get enough
My heart is breaking
My body is shaking
I hate this withdraw
I can't stand this pain
Get out of my head
I'm going insane
No, I can't stand this withdraw
I can't stand this pain
But if I go the easy way
I will always be ashamed
But who am I kidding
The only thing I'm ridding
Of myself is my happiness
Why won't you go away
I sighed as the acoustic guitar stopped playing. The water splashed as I changed the song. I finished that song and got out of the tub. I got dressed and made my way out the door.
Kas was making me get ready for the date. I sighed and threw on black bondage pants with a black shirt that had a white rose on it. I wore no makeup and put on a pair of black and orange etines. When Kas saw me he smiled.
"You look really pretty without makeup." He said, complementing me. I smiled,
"Thanks. Let's get this over with." It turned out that Darren was coming along with Sean and Kas. So it was the boys and I.
"Come on!" I said. I wasn't eager, I just wanted to get this over with.
"Don't get your lacy red panties in a bunch." Sean said. I playfully whacked him on the shoulder.
"Were you looking through my bag?" I asked, in fake disbelief. Of course he did.
"Yep." He stated, smiling. I just giggled. Darren came out, smiling.
"So, are we ready to go?" he asked, adjusting his sunglasses. Something in me snapped when I saw him. He looked... great. And that thought scared me. I tried to shake that thought out of my head, but it wouldn't go away. I looked away. He came over to me and gave me a friendly hug, which was weird.
"I'm really sorry about Nate." He muttered into my shoulder. I nodded, trying not to cry. He pulled away from the embrace and smiled. I smiled back at seeing his beautiful smile. Wait, what am I doing? Nate only died a month ago! I looked down, away from his gaze. Kas took my arm.
"Come on, Jonte is waiting." He said, smiling. I raised an eyebrow.
"Your date. Michelle and her boyfriend are going to be there too." He said. Darren didn't look hurt at all. I shrugged it off. I rolled my eyes.
"Do I have to do this?" I asked. Kas sighed and nodded.
"We miss you Cherry." He said, he called me Cherry when he was desperate. I sighed again and tapped my newly manicured fingernails on my jeans.
"Well come on." I said. We were supposed to meet this guy at the main street. I sighed and looked down, before seeing someone coming towards me.
"Everything will be okay." Darren soothed, patting my back. I faintly smiled.
"Thanks Darren, you're really helping me out here." I said, giving him a one armed-hug. He smiled and hugged me back. We saw a boy on the edge of the street.
"Well, Chelsea, meet Jonte!" Kas said, bringing me closer to this stranger. I got a good look at him. Blond hair, blue eyes and a black t-shirt. He grinned at me. It was menacing.
"Ah, so this is the lovely Chelsea Woods?" he asked, bending down and kissing my hand. I smiled uncertainly at him. I didn't like him, but another reason I didn't like him touching me was because of my scars. He smiled deviously at me before looking at Kas.
"Thanks man. It's awesome." Jonte said, patting him on the back. I gritted my teeth. I am NOT an object. Kas looked at me uneasy.
"Well, come on then. We have to get to the bar." Sean said. My head snapped up.
"Bar? Kas told me that we were going to the movies?" I said, almost yelling. What the hell was going on here? Kas sighed.
"I'm sorry, change of plans." He said, with a sorry look on his face. I was not in the mood for this shit. I sighed.
"Come on. Now." I growled, pulling Kas and Darren, the two people who did this. I pulled them around the corner and put my hands on my hips. They gave each other worried looks.
"Okay, who came up with the movie idea?" I asked. Darren slowly raised his hand. I smiled evilly.
"Now, Kas, who do you think planned the bar trip, when the plan was to get me to stop drinking?" I smirked. Kas looked down, like he was in trouble.
"I'm sorry." He muttered. I nodded and smiled. I kissed both of his cheeks and both of Darren's. The guy that hated me came back and he tensed under my touch.
"Now, you guys know I love you. Now go play, kiddies." I joked. I saw Darren blush and head off with Kas. They didn't know how hard it was to have fun, for me. I walked silently with them, only to have Jonte wrap his arms around my waist. I tried to get away, but he just held on tighter. I pulled a strand of hair behind my ear. Kas saw the uncomfortable bond between Jonte and me.
"Okay, ready?" Sean asked, wrapping his arm around Kirin's waist. I smiled at the two and nodded.
"Yeah." I said meekly. Darren and Jonte were by my side, Jonte glaring at Darren. I kind of wrapped my arms around myself, feeling weird.
"Well, we're here!" Kas shouted, trying to bring up the mood. Darren sent me a sympathetic look. I still couldn't get over how good he looked. I quickly tried to shake his image out of my head.
"Well, babe. Want to dance?" Jonte asked, suggestively. I was repulsed. I slowly nodded, wanting to hurry this night up. He took by my wrists to the dance floor. He started to grind on me, I almost threw up. After we were done, he was pretty drunk, and when you look into his evil eyes, pretty horny. He tried to kiss me but I shoved him away.
"What the hell are you doing?" I asked him, outraged. He tried to kiss me again, but I saw Darren pull him off.
"Leave her alone!" he said, dragging the smaller guy out of the dance floor. Darren came back to me and put his hand on my shoulder.
"Are you okay?" he asked. I just now noticed how much taller he is than me. He is about, six feet two. I'm six feet. I looked at him and flashed him a smile.
"Yeah, thank you. Really. You don't understand how much that meant to me." I said and kissed his cheek. He kind of tensed up, but he smiled afterwards.
"It was no problem." He said, smiling. I looked down, grinning. Why the fuck was I acting like this?
"So, do you want something to drink?" he asked after a minute of just staring at each other. I nodded gradually.
"Yeah, that would help me, a lot." I said, sighing a sigh of relief. He smiled and told me to follow him.
"So, what do you want to drink?" he asked. I looked at the colorful bottles and pointed to the bottle labled; Apple Brandy Sour. The bartender nodded and poured the red liquid into a glass. Daren nodded and paid him.
"Thanks, Darren, for everything." I said, taking the sweet tasting liquid up to my lips, taking a sip. He took a sip of his own drink, a beer. He smiled at me.
"So what happened between you and Michelle? If you don't mind me asking," I said. Darren nodded, taking another drink of his Budweiser.
"She found someone new, it really wasn't working out between us." He said, in monotone. I nodded; when they were together, they didn't seem happy. He looked up at me.
"It was for the best, ya know?" he said, tipping his hat. His hat was like the one Mike had in the music video 'Minority', and I thought it was sexy as hell.
"Yeah, I'm glad you guys aren't ripping each others heads off and are still friends." I said, smiling. Darren nodded.
"We were better off friends." He said, standing up.
"Do you, want to dance?" he asked. I looked into his black eyes and nodded.
"Sure," I said, taking his hand and leading him to the dance floor. All of the sudden, the song changed. Hips Don't Lie, by Shakira. That was the only song that got me 'fired up'. And me and Darren being drunk didn't help.
I never knew she could dance like this...
Darren took hold of my hips as we danced to the loud music. Our hips grinded against each other's, the people around us were doing the same thing.
She makes a man want to speak Spanish...
Darren held on to my hips, his hands rubbing the small of my back. The music seemed to be louder and the people around us seemed to vanish. The dance got more intense as our breaths got heavier. The club lights were flashing on and off.
Como se llama, Bonita, me casa, su casa...
The grinding got harder as I turned around. Darren now had his had firmly pressed on my waist, both of us rocking back and forth to the music. My head was spinning, and I couldn't take control of what was happening. Suddenly, the music stopped, and Darren let go of me. We both had our mouths open, not sure of what to say.
"Wow." Was all that could register out of our mouths. We saw Kas headed towards us.
"What the fuck? It was like, free porn watching you two!" h said, laughing. Kirin laughed too.
"What the fuck?" she said, giggling. Thank god Michelle didn't like Darren anymore, because she was right there laughing to.
"That was hot!" Michelle said, holding her sides from laughter., Darren and I just rolled our eyes.
"Come on guys, it couldn't of been that bad." I lied. I knew very well that it looked like we were having sex in our clothes. Sean shook his head.
"We need to get you another pregnancy test." He joked. I sighed.
"Look, I did not get myself pregnant." I said, pulling my hair back up. When we were dancing, my hair fell out. Wow, I guess our dance was really intense. Darren looked down, blushing.
"Don't worry Darren, I had fun." I said, kissing his cheek. He looked up and grinned.
"So, where is Jonte?" Kas asked. Darren shrugged.
"I saw him trying to kiss Chelsea, but she didn't want to be kissed, so I pulled him off of her and I haven't seen him since." Darren said, scratching his neck. Rachel stifled a giggle.
"That's because you two were to busy feeling each other up!" Michelle said, laughing. I looked at Darren and thought. I started to like him... a lot. I wanted him to be mine. Nate told me to move on, if hadn't said that, I wouldn't be here. The others had left, getting drinks. Only me and Darren were there. Then I did something that shocked the both of us. I kissed him.
He seemed surprised for a moment but then he started to kiss me back. His hand fell from my waist to my ass. His tongue slid across my bottom lip, begging for an entrance. I quickly opened my mouth, fighting for dominance. I finally gave up, letting him push me against the wall, me letting out a slight moan. My hand mashed through his hair, after his hat had fallen off. His tongue grazed against mine, feeling every inch of my mouth. It was if he had always wanted this. His left hand squeezed my ass, making me giggle into our kiss. My heart raced and we finally pulled away, gasping for air. His eyes were wide.
'Fuck." He breathed. I smiled and brushed a lock of hair out of his eyes.
"Holy shit, you don't know how long I've been waiting for that." He said, smiling again. I raised an eyebrow.
"What?" I asked. Darren looked down.
"I love you... "
"Um, why are you bleeding, and what are you holding?" he asked, narrowing his eyes, hoping it wasn't what he thought it was. I quickly responded. I showed him a fingernail.
