"Hi, I'm Your Neighbour.", chapter 11
I woke up and immediately opened my eyes, full speed. Shouldn't have done so. I waited until I was sure I could take the light and opened my eyes slowly, staring around me. I noticed my surroundings. I was in the hospital.
I was laying flat on my back so I pushed myself up, pulling the top half of my body up. When I had sat up I looked at the visitor's chairs next to my bed. I noticed one was filled with a boy looking the age of 15, my age, with reddish-brown hair. Billie Joe. I looked at my wrist, thinking I'd see my bracelet. It was gone. I looked at the sleeping Billie Joe frantically, then noticing he had had the bracelet clutched in his hand, obviously hoping for good luck.
I slipped my legs over the edge of the bed and stood up, wobbling a bit. I walked over to his chair and lightly tapped his shoulder with two fingers. He slowly opened his eyes, and at realizing it was me, sprung up and threw his arms around me, gripping me like never before.
"You're crushing me." I said, with all the voice left in me. He loosened his grip and looked me straight in the eye.
"I was so scared." Billie Joe whispered. His eyes were deep, sad and honestly scared.
"So was I," I whispered back, "how did I get here?"
"Tré was in a conversation with me when I called you. He traced the call, thinking worse, and they found where you were and took you here. Actually, if you want more detailed, Tré beat the piss out of Mark while Melissa called 991. You've been out for three days."
"Three fucking days? When can I get out of here?"
"The doctors told me you could leave soon...anywhere between a couple hours and tomorrow." he said. I was glad I could get out soon. I hate hospitals. Wow...three days. I thought I'd got here last night or something. Thank God for Tré and Melissa. Just then, the door to my room swung open and my supposed doctor stepped in.
"Ah, you're awake " He said happily. At least my doctor was nice and happy, y'know?
"Yep, just got up Sir." I replied, trying with all my strength to be as happy as he.
"I'm glad. I see you can walk fine? Are you feeling any pain whatsoever?" he asked.
"Yeah, I can walk, just my ankles need adjusting. No pain, not at all."
"Well that's good. You can sign out in about an hour if you feel you're healthy enough."
"Oh, yes, thank you doctor." I said, he smiled and left quietly.
I gathered all my things and packed them up. I changed into some spare clothes Billie Joe brought by. We signed out of the hospital and left. We drove back to my house in complete silence. When we got to my house, I unlocked the door with my key and stepped in. Billie Joe followed behind me and shut the door behind him. We found Melissa and Tré were sitting on the couch. I ran straight up to Tré and hugged him tightly, saying "Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you..." over and over again.
"Calm down, calm down!" he told me, smiling and chuckling a little. I went to Melissa and did the same thing, smiling and laughing the whole time. For the rest of the day we hung out and rested, just chilling.
2 Weeks Later, Nikki's Point Of View
I decided to take a walk, so I kissed Billie Joe on the cheek and told him I'd be back soon. I took my cell phone with me, just in case. I decided to walk past my old elementary school, to see what it looked like. I walked about 10 minutes down to it, and slowly walked the sidewalk, taking it all in. I remembered when Billie Joe, Mike, Ethan, and I would run around together here. The place didn't change one bit. I saw someone a ways before me. I didn't pay attention and kept walking. I felt my cell phone beep, which meant that the battery was dead and it was shutting off. As I got closer, I started to see the face of the person. It looked very familiar. It was kind of hard to tell, since I had my left eye covered with my long bangs. Oh, right. I never told you.
Flashback
My friend Nichole had come over for a few hours. Since we were bored, we decided to pull out my old paints and paint for a while. We started a water-flicking fight with our brushes. After the original fight had ended, I flung some water at her when she least expected it. Without thinking, she flicked her blue paint at me without washing her brush. A little got to my eye, and we went to the hospital straightaway. The doctor said only the iris would change, and that the older I got, it would turn silver.
Flashback Over
It was now fully silver, and all the people I know who knew about it said it was cool as hell. I agree, really. The person walked up to me. At first I didn't recognize the face. Then, they walked straight up to me and their jaw dropped. So did mine.
"Ethan?"
