"Hi, I'm Your Neighbour.", chapter 12

"Uh-Nikki? I haven't seen you in so long." He hugged me.
We pulled apart and stared into each other's eyes.
"I'm worry we drifted apart. I just got so caught up and..."
"I know. It's ok." I said, smiling.

*2 Years Later*
*Nikki's POV*

I woke up to the smell of pancakes. I got up, very groggily, and slumped down the hallway. Billie Joe was up, happy, hyper, and ready to go.
"Want some breakfast, huh? Huh? Huh?" he asked, very zippily.
"Yeah. And could you please shove a sleeping pill down your throat so you can at least calm the fuck down?"
He stopped. Looked at me with puppy dog eyes and a hurt face.
"I'm sorry." he said. Aww!!!!
"It's ok. Go nuts."
The phone rang.
"I'll get get get it!!!" Billie Joe said happily. I rolled my eyes.
"Heeellllooo? Oh Hi!!! Sorry Sir, I'm just a little zippy this morning. We what? ARE YOU SERIOUS?! Oh, thank you, Sir, thank you! Thank you so much! Ok, alright, bye!"
He looked at me with awe on his face.
"Hun...are you...OK?" I asked, waving my hand in front of his face.
"We...got...signed."
I grinned.
"Come again?"
"We got fuckin' signed, baby!!!" He grinned like a madman, and hugged me and twirled me around.
"Mmkay, alright, OXYGEN!!!"
"Sorry." he blushed. Remember, Billie Joe had a thing for blushing.

So, it's been a few months. The guys put out their album, 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours. Weird name. I'm watching TV here with my boyfriend, Billie Joe. The phone rings. I get it. Billie's sleeping.
"Hello?"
"Hi, is a Mr....Armstrong there?"
"Uh, yeah. Give me a second."
"Alright then." the man sounded familiar.
"Honey...hun...wake up...kinda, important phone call, I think."
"You think." he said, when he was finally up. I handed him the phone.
"Yeah? Oh, hey Larry. What's up? Oh, we are? WE ARE?! Sweet, thanks! Oh, um...we aren't? Oh."
He at first sounded happy, but the happiness drained at the "Oh, um..." part. He hung up the phone.
"What's up?"
"Larry says we're going on a small North-American tour."
"Oh my God, sweetie that's awes-"
"But we can't bring anyone with us." he said, sadly.
"Oh. Well, I think we can hold strong, can't we?" I said, a little nervous, a little saddened. I was nervous that Billie would say he wanted to break up.
"We can try. As long as you feel willing enough, and you believe we can."
"You're making it sound like you don't believe we can." I said, tearing up, my voice cracking. I also had the sound of anger in my voice. Come on, would you have been at least a little angry if your boyfriend didn't believe you could try to make it through a rough time?
"No, no, no...c'mere..." he pulled me into a tight hug, "don't cry. I'm not trying to make it sound like that, I do believe we could make it. I just don't want you to get hurt if we drift apart and don't make it."
"We won't."

A few weeks later and now he's packed up and waiting to leave. I had so many emotions in me. Happy my boyfriend's band was getting bigger, sad he had to leave, angry I couldn't go. He walked up to me, I could tell he was about ready to burst out crying. I was too.
"I'm sorry you couldn't come along. I would've given the world if only you could come on every tour with me."
"I know, baby, I know." I said, the tears now spilling down my face, dropping to the ground when they left the surface.
"I love you. Remember that. Always keep your bracelet on, I'll call, write, everything. I love you." He hugged me and kissed, might I add that kiss was extremely long. Tré and Mike hugged me, they were crying too. Tré bear-hugged me and left me breathless, I kissed him on the cheek and they all walked off to Tré's dad's Bookmobile. Billie Joe was in the passenger's seat, looking out the window, straight at me. The car drove off in the pouring rain, Billie's watery eyes glued to the outside world that lay beyond that window.
