A few hour later, in the Armstrong backyard a healthy business was well underway, headed by Alan.
"This is amazing, I can't believe people are actually paying to use this pathetic excuse for a skate park!" He whispered to Billie Joe, whose ideas and inspiration and of course all those planks of wood he found had lead to the makeshift ramps and quarter pipes being assembled in their own garden.
"Well, there isn't another skate park in Rodeo, we should be looking at this as community service, we're doing something good for the neighbourhood and making a profit out of it at the same time!" Billie Joe replied.
"Right you are there, little bro," said David, his hands landing on both of his brothers shoulders, "After all one good deed deserves another."

This was easily the best idea I had ever came up with but mom would be home soon and how the hell were we going to explain all the skaters in her backyard? I guess we hadn't really thought this one through, we could probably get away with the mini skate park we built but if she found out that we were charging an entry fee she would go ballistic! There was no point in worrying about it until the time came otherwise they're would be no way we would do half the things that we did, so I grabbed my skateboard and joined the others, enjoying my last few moments of freedom.
About half an hour later we heard mom's car pull up in the driveway. It was time to face the music.
"Boys," My mom shouted as she entered the house. It would only be a matter of seconds before she discovered why we were not at our usual spot, i.e. in front of the television.
"What on earth is going on out here?" she demanded. I looked at my brothers for assistance but that was the last thing that they were about to give me.
"It was Billie Joe's idea," Alan snitched. I gave him a nasty look, that was a low blow but unfortunately it was something I had come to expect. I could feel my mom's piercing eyes in my back so I turned round to splutter an explanation.
"It was just a bit of fun," I said desperately.
My mom looked at me then looked around her garden, filled with strangers on skateboards. She sighed and shook her head.
"I give up with you boys I really do." she said as she went back inside. I smiled and immediately got back on my board. This had gone a lot better than I ever could have hoped for.
(Next Day)
"Late yet again Mr. Armstrong" Mr. Keyser addressed Billie Joe as he usually did when he eventually strolled in to class almost 20 minutes.
"Sorry..." he said robotically as he took his seat at the back. He looked around the class and caught Antonia's eye, she smiled at him then turned her head away, returning her attention to her jotter. Billie Joe retrieved his tattered jotter from his equally tattered school bag. He looked at all the drawings that covered the book and chuckled to himself when his eyes fell upon a drawing that Mike had drew of the dog that he believed would one day take over the world. He opened it up and instead of it being full of work it was full of random song lyrics, just parts and pieces of songs here and there. He flicked through them till he found one that he thought he could add to and maybe even complete.
Eventually the bell rang for recess and Billie Joe followed his daily routine and made his way to the spot where he and his best friend's hung out but when he got there he received a pleasant surprise.
"Hi Billie Joe." said an angelic voice.
"Oh, hey Antonia." Billie Joe replied, trying to appear calm and casual as he sat down opposite her. Then the reason for her joining of the group began apparent as Mike made his way over, hand in hand with no other than Celia, Antonia's best friend. Billie Joe stared up at his best friend his disbelief, Mike hadn't even mentioned liking her to him!

I was in shock, since when did they become an item and why didn't Mike say anything to me. They sat down and began chatting casually among the group, not feeling the need to make some sort of announcement or provide some sort of explanation for this sudden formation of a relationship. Antonia came over by my side and started up a conversation when Mike and Celia's tongue's had become otherwise engaged. I decided to ask her what she wanted the other day when she had come looking for me.
"Oh, Celia sent me, she wanted to know if Mike liked her too without saying anything to him and since you're his best friend I figured you would probably know."
"All right, well I think you can figure out the answer now." I said disappointed that that was all she had wanted.
"So I guess this is going to be a regular thing now, us hanging out since our best friends are going to be spending a lot of time together." She said and I was delighted to notice that she had a smile on her face as she said so.
"Yeah, I guess it will be," I said, also with a grin on my face.
Sadly the bell went and we had to return to class but with this development I Knew that life was going to become a whole lot better and a lot more exciting!
