The Perfect Lie, chapter 2
‘Hey Steph, Billie taking you home tonight?’, Tre asked bumping into Steph in the back store room. She looked down at him from the step ladder.
‘No I was hoping I could catch a ride home with you’, he told him stepping down after putting a supply box away up on the shelves. Tre put out a hand and helped her down smiling at her once she made it to the ground safely.
‘Okay, I can do that’, he told her, moving in closer to her. Steph stepped back.
‘Tre what happened was an accident. It shouldn’t have’, she told him, trying to walk away from him. Tre kept a hold of her hand and pulled her back.
‘What if it was fate?’, he asked her, pulling her in quickly so that she practically whacked into his chest.
‘It wasn’t. It was all an accident’, she told him quickly trying to get away. Tre held her there knowing he could get his charm to work over her and win her over to his side.
‘But gorgeous, what happened between us’, he stuttered. Steph dropped her head and pushed away with all the force she had breaking their contact.
‘Don’t call me that’, she told him bluntly walking away out of the store room. Tre stood there alone, assessing what he had just done. Stuffed up again. Like he always managed to. He pulled out a small bottle he had in his pocket and walked over to Steph’s coffee knowing she would come back to get it. He emptied its contents in and walked away innocently just as she returned to collect it.
‘Mmm, a little sweet, maybe I won’t use as much sugar next time’, she told herself to remind her walking back out.
-3 hours later in the car park-
‘Tre there is seriously something wrong with the work coffee’, Steph said stumbling towards the car. Tre smiled knowing he had everything planned perfectly. He helped her into the backseat allowing her to lie down on the drive home. Quickly as they set off, she started to fall asleep. Tre drove slowly not to bump and wake her up, as he drove to the house. When they finally reached the house Tre got out and opened the back door to help Steph out. He woke up the sleeping girl only to be pulled into the car unknowingly.
‘I know what you did Tre’, Steph questioned him, pulling him into the backseat.
‘What?’, he questioned her back. She pulled him closer and kissed him so that their lips met perfectly on eachother. She stared deep into his eyes as he lashed out forward onto her again letting himself dominate her completely with himself.
‘Tre, I thought you said it wouldn’t happen again?’, Mike accused him walking past the car.
‘What it’s not my fault’, Tre yelled at him, let himself drop down to Steph’s level again.
‘Sure its not’, Mike said walking away. Steph put out her hand pulled Mike into her.
Whoa, no no no’, Mike said getting away from her. Being drugged up Steph went back to trying to get Tre back focused on her. Tre looked up at Mike with pleading eye’s as if he didn’t want anyone to find out.
‘Mikey, Mike wait, don’t tell Billie’, Tre pleaded getting out of the car, following Mike up the steps to the house.
‘Tre don’t try talk yourself out of this’, Mike said furiously, ‘I can’t believe you drugged her’.
‘Mike you wouldn’t say a thing’, Tre told him using a guiltily voice.
‘Why not?’, Mike asked turning around to him. Tre looked up at the taller man and met his gaze eye to eye.
‘Coz you’ve seen how happy he is with her. You would wanna ruin it, would you?’, Tre asked him, making Mike turn back.
‘No, I would wanna and I don’t see why you want to’, Mike told him, waiting Tre drop his head in shame.
Tre walked back to the car and helped Steph out of the car.
‘Tre is Billie here?’, Steph asked him, smiling sweetly getting out of the car. Tre hugged her as he helped her out making her stand straight.
‘I wanna talk to him’, she explained walking herself to the house. Tre let his head hang. He was disappointed but he didn’t know why. Why he couldn’t have the girl he wanted and why he still was after it...
